DIY Natural Beauty Project: Black Tea Hair Rinse To Speed Up Hair Growth & Add A Glossy Shine

I love a good cuppa I do.

To be completely honest I’m a bit of a tea tank and I can easily drink twenty cups a day. The last 3 weeks I have not only been sippin’ on cuppa’s but I have been using my teabags to make my own DIY Black Tea Hair Rinse to see if it can help reduce shedding of the hair, stimulate hair growth and thickness as well as enchance shine as I long for long, full and thick hair and I regret getting the chop.

You must have seen all these miracle hair growing shampoo’s that prevent hair falling out and helps to make your own hair grow back thicker, fuller and longer? Let’s take the well-known, Alpecin for example. Well basically, Alpecin is very rich in caffeine and well, Black Tea is extremely rich in caffeine too and it doesn’t contain any nasty ingredients or chemicals that some hair brand dump in their shampoo’s. Ït is completely natural and a lot cheaper than those miracle shampoo’s.

What You Need?

5 TEABAGS (just your regular PG Tips, Tetley, Yorkshire Tea, etc…)

A LARGE BOWL (A plastic dishbowl is perfect or just anything to put the tea into and then pour over your head.)

HOT KETTLE WATER(To steep & brew the teabags and extract all the goodness of the black tea into the hot water).

Let’s start:

1: Soak the teabags in hot kettle water for a few hours or for best results over night. (Don’t add sugar, don’t add milk, he he.)

2: When the Teabags have been steeped for 12-24 hours, take each teabag and squeeze all of the excess liquid back into the bowl. We want every drop!

3: Don’t be alarmed by this step. Its kind of similar to washing your hair in the sink, Ha. So. dip your head into the bowl leaving it submerged in the water for about 5 minutes and completely saturate your scalp and hair with the Black Tea. Or if you can’t be bothered dunking your head in a bowl for five minutes, simply pour the Black Tea water over your whole head, then follow with a shower cap – just make sure you do it in the bathroom otherwise you’ll have a puddle to clean up. Wear old clothes too. Tea stains are a bitch to get out.

4: When the five minutes of dunking is up, don’t squeeze out the excess water from your hair. Clamp your hair up into a loose bun and put on a shower cap, keeping a face towel near to wipe any black tea that falls down onto your face.

5: Leave the black tea water on your hair for a whole hour, then rinse and follow up with a nourishing conditioner.

6: Results will not be visible straight away but you will definitely see results by doing a Black Tea Rinse, week by week. Add the Black Tea Rinse into your beauty regime, its worth a try and the only thing your losing is teabags, hey. Forget the expensive ‘miracle’ shampoo’s. Black Tea works just as well.

REMEMBER: DONT USE HOT WATER ON YOUR HEAD. LET THE WATER COOL

Little tip: Keep the used tea bags and recycle them for your eyes to reduce dark circles, irritation and puffiness… They help to soothe and brighten your eyes too.

My results after 3 weeks:

So, once a week I have been doing a Black Tea Rinse on my hair and so far I am very pleased with the results. My hair always feels soft, smooth and looks shiny afterwards and by week 3 of doing weekly rinses, I can feel how much thicker my hair is becoming and I can definitely see less hair loss after brushing.

You guys should give this a whirl, you probably have teabags at home so you can start right now if you wish. Let me know if you guys try it and continue to use it weekly. I’d love to see your results.

I’d love to hear some of your favourite DIY beauty Projects which you have found on the internet?

I adore crafting my own beauty recipes, so you guys will be doing me a BIG favour if you share some of your ‘makes’ below? I might even post about them on here.

Love
