Hey dolls, sorry ’bout being on the missing list the last few weeks but I have had the worst few weeks ever and it has sent me off track, my laptop decided to break and then my phone broke so I had to save to replace them – it’s been so hard, technology is addictive, right? So, brand new laptop, new phone (which means better photo’s – my last phone was RUBBISH) and it’s bloggy time! I’m just doing a quick little candle review today to get me back into the swing of things…
When I pop into Home Bargains, I always pick a couple of candles up – I love how cheap they all are and they are also great value for money. I picked up a Cherry Blossom & Jasmine large candle jar by HB candle brand Wickford & Co for £2.99. They also have tumblers for 99p, small jars for 69p, votives for about 39p I think as well as wax melts and scented tea-lights. I love Wickford & Co candles, I think I have had every scented candle they have done and I always re-buy them as you can tell by my posts – they are a great alternative to more expensive candle brands like Yankee Candles, which cost a lot, lot more.
The Cherry Blossom & Jasmine candle I bought comes in a clear large jar with a glass lid and it is filled with a sweet smelling lilac coloured wax. There is a clear sticker/label on the front of the tumbler which features a gorge gold Wickford & Co logo and it has a pretty picture of some pink flowers (I think they are cherry blossom flowers?). It also states that the candle will burn for upto 95 hours which is true and I’ve had mine for well over two weeks now and I light it every night.
The jar and the label look quite expensive too and you would never guess by looking at it that it was only £2.99.
When lit, the candle does smell sweet and slightly floral but it’s not an overpowering scent and to be honest I could hardly smell anything at all after a while. Like I have said about the other Wickford & Co Candles which I have reviewed – I’m not sure if it’s a soy wax candle or a paraffin one so I’m guessing it’s made with parrafin wax as it’s much cheaper than soy wax. This candle doesn’t smell as strong as some of the others I have tried but it does look pretty so I will buy it again – but it’s not my first choice candle from the brand.
I love my candles, I love getting all cozy of an evening, watching TV or listening to music with a couple of candles lit – so relaxing. Wickford & Co candles are right up there with my favourite candle brands, they smell lovely, they look pretty and they are budget-friendly and cheap.
