Dr. Botanicals – Cotton Candy Raspberry Bath Bomb| REVIEW

Hiya Loves….

I was sent another product from Dr. Botanicals a few days ago and I’ve been so excited to try it out. Possibly the most exciting product I have received from Dr. B. It is the Cotton Candy Raspberry Bath Bomb which is a two-in-one bath treatment. It has the scent and fizz like a normal bath bomb would and it also has the skin nourishing benefits of a bath oil. Like all of Dr. Botanicals’ products, the bath bomb does not contain any harsh sulphates (SLS/SLES), parabens, detergents and silicones and it is cruelty free and vegan friendly. It does contain synthetic colourants and parfum though.

First impressions:

The bath bomb comes wrapped in cellophane inside a small recyclable cardboard box. It is a large 200g bath bomb and it smells absolutely gorgeous! I could smell the bath bomb before I had even took the packaging off and it smelled even more amazing once I did! I am seriously in love with how this bath bomb smells – unreal! It has a mixture of candy floss, bubble gum and raspberries. My kinda scent!

The colours are beautiful too! It has pretty candy pink, blue and white swirls all over it and there is sprinkles of glitter on it too. Beautiful! The ingredients list is printed on the box and one of the main ingredients is almond oil which is high in vitamins and minerals that help to nourish and moisturise the skin.

Bicarbonate of soda, Citric Acid, Almond (Prunus Dulcis Amara) Oil, Aqua, Parfum Glitter,

CI 12490*, CI 19140* (*synthetic colourants)

I ordered this a few days ago and it arrived yesterday and I have never been so excited about a bath bomb before. I couldn’t wait to try it, simply because it smelt amazing and looked beautiful. After filling my bath with hot water I dropped the bomb into the water and it took about 5 minutes to completely melt, it was a fizzer alright – I love the sound of bath bombs when they fizz and this didn’t disappoint but the end colour result was a bit of a let down! I was expecting the bath bomb to give me a colourful show in my tub but the colour of the water was like a dark reddish-brownish-orange – not pink and blue like I was expecting. The water was glittery though but it just looked like dirty bath water if I’m honest. So, overall, 100000/10 for the scent and 10/10 for the fizz but I’m giving it a 1/10 for the colour – and that one is for the glitter! I mean c’mon, look at the colour of my bath water, I’m sure they could have made it prettier.

Another thing I don’t rate is the price tag! At £14.50, it is quite expensive compared to other vegan friendly brands and to be honest I think it may be a little overpriced. Don’t get me wrong, I do LOVE how it smelt and regardless of the colour –  I had a lovely, enjoyable relaxing bath – my skin felt clean and soft afterwards and my bathroom smelt like heaven. It also hasn’t irritated my psoriasis like most bath bombs do and if anything it looks and feels little better.

BUT, nearly £15 for one bath bomb! I could get five from LUSH for that price.

Disclosure: I was gifted this bath bomb for review purposes. As you can tell I’m pretty honest and the brand has not influenced my opinion in any way.
