About two months ago, Dr. Botanicals, a vegan friendly, cruelty-free skincare brand, sent me one of their Coconut Oil Rejuvenating Body Exfoliating Bars to review on my blog. I’ve got quite a few of Dr. Botanicals products which I’ve been sent over the last year or so and they are one of my fave skincare brands. All of their products are vegan friendly and cruelty free and they contain no harsh ingredients that irritate sensitive skin just natural, quality, skin-loving ingredients which are kind to skin (and animals).
‘Hydrate, Cleanse and Gently Exfoliate. Shredded coconut gently exfoliates the skin while coconut oil moisturises the skin and creamy coconut aroma works to unwind your mind.‘ Dr. Botanicals.
The soap comes in a small, cardboard box which is recyclable and eco-friendly. No plastic in sight. Inside the box is the 100g soap bar, which is square-shaped, beigey-brown in colour and it has a gorgeous, creamy, natural coconut aroma.
The main active ingredient in the soaps formulation is Shell Powder, which contains nutrients like collagen, chondroitin, glucosamine, and hyaluronic acid. It has anti-oxidant activity which protects the skin from free radical damage and also has moisture holding properties which smooth and hydrate the skin. Dr. Botanicals say the soap can be used on the face as well as the body and hands although I haven’t used it on my face, as I’ve had severe breakouts in the past after washing my face with soap, so never again.
This soap smells AMAZING! I love everything coconut so it’s no surprise that I love this soap, coconut products have done wonders for my skin in the past and I couldn’t recommend them enough for sensitive skin.
Dr. Botanicals say the soap helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells but I don’t find it to be exfoliating at all. Maybe the exfoliation is too gentle for my skin type. It is a super moisturising, hydrating soap though and after using my skin feels clean, smoother and soft. It lathers okay for a natural soap too.
My followers will know that I have psoriasis and I believe this soap has been so gentle and mild on my skin – it hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin and it hasn’t made my psoriasis any worse, which I think is down to the natural ingredients and the fact doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals. It’s also a long-lasting soap as well, I’ve been using mine for over two months now and although it has withered down a little there is still a lot left.
So, I love the soap – but I don’t like the price tag. All of Dr. Botanicals products are a bit on the expensive side, I wish they weren’t as I love their products! I don’t know about you guys but nearly 20 quid for a soap is not something I’d pay to be honest! Don’t get me wrong, I have no complaints – it’s gentle, vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, natural, moisturising and it doesn’t dry the skin out, but, I wouldn’t repurchase for £20.
Totally out of my soap budget, ha.

Hey chicks, I’ve not been sleeping well lately and my eyes aren’t looking as bright and sparkly as they usually are. I remembered that I got this Hydrogel Eye Mask from BLAQ a while back in one of my beauty subscription boxes so thought I would try it out and give my eyes a little pamper. I only had one eye mask to try out but if you were to buy them you would pay £22 for a box of five masks – BLAQ don’t sell them individually.
Here’s what they say about the Hydrogel Eye Mask:
‘Late nights. too many cheeky wines and lets not forget those carb-on-carb delights, can have our peepers looking, well, not so fresh. Leave the evidence of last night behind, and pop on our activated charcoal eye mask to de-puff, detox and get back to your shiny, gorgeous self.‘ – BLAQ
How To Use:
Cleanse your skin and eye area.
Gently apply the mask about 1 cm below each eye.
Leave the mask to work its magic for 10-15 minutes, before carefully peeling off the skin.
BLAQ recommend using the eye mask twice a week.
I’ve used hydrogel eye masks before and they also seem to slip off and slide down my face meaning I have to lie down to keep them on my face – with these ones they actually stayed put whilst I was sitting up.
After taking the eye mask off, my eyes felt so refreshed and soothed and my dark circles looked a little brighter and not as puffy. So I do think they work although I’m doubt that I’d buy these again, even though they helped a little. I’m not too keen about the price tag and I’m also not sure if they are cruelty-free as it doesn’t state it on the packaging and the website doesn’t say either, so, I’m guessing they are not. Plus, it has ‘manufactured in China’ so I guess that’s my answer.
Dr. Botanicals, a vegan friendly skincare brand, sent me some of their Moroccon Rose Superfood Facial Oil to try out and review on my blog. The oil is completely natural, vegan friendly and cruelty-free and it is infused with plant extracts, antioxidants, vitamins, essential oils and botanical extracts to help brighten dull skin, protect it, renew and even out skin tone. It also contains high levels of Vitamins A and C which rejuvenate the skin and helps to reduce visible signs of ageing.
The main active ingredients in the formulation are:
Vitamin C – helps to stimulate collagen production, for younger-looking skin. Vitamin A –a powerful antioxidant with aims to rejuvenate skin, even skin tone and reduce the signs of ageing; while protecting from free radicals. Almond Oil –deeply moisturises and nourishes skin, whilst brightening the complexion for brighter fresh looking skin.
The Moroccan Facial Oil comes in a eco-friendly, recyclable cardboard box – the packaging is nothing special but it is good for our environment. It lists the full ingredients in super tiny writing on the bottom of the box – which I can’t read even with my glasses on. It has the cruelty-free bunny printed on the box too. Inside is the Facial Oil which comes in a 15ml glass bottle with a simple label and a black screw-off dropper lid. The oil itself is clear and transparent with a slight rose-pink tint to it. Very pretty! It has a watery consistency and smells really nice too, kinda like a mild, subtle perfume, although it is not overpowering at all. The oil has been recommended for dry skin especially but all skin types can use it even oily.
I’ve been using it for a whole week so far and I’ve stopped using other products, just so I can see how it works my skin. My skin has been looking awful lately and I put it down to being lazy. I have been using throw away face wipes the last month or so instead of cleansing properly and although they come in handy every now and again, I don’t recommend using them as an everyday thing as I have found I break out and my skin gets really dry an dull-looking when I do.
This week I’ve ditched the wipes and I’ve been washing my face twice a day with the Wipe Out MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth from Magnitone London, which just requires water, no cleansers, gels, etc… and I’ve then been applying the oil every morning and every night. I use about 3-4 drops for my entire face and neck and in one week I’ve used just under 1/4 of the bottle, so I’m guessing the 15ml bottle will last me roughly over a month, maybe longer.
The Moroccan Facial Oil doesn’t behave like your average oil and it is kind of a dry oil although Dr.Botanicals haven’t said this. It doesn’t feel oily/greasy on the skin and it doesn’t leave a sticky residue either. It is super absorbent and I love how it dries into the skin within seconds, so no need to wait around for it to dry – one of my pet hates with facial oils.
Since using the facial oil, my dry patches and blemishes are starting to disappear and my skin doesn’t feel as tight, dry or look as dull as before – it has definitely brightened my complexion. I think with longer use my skin tone will look more even so I’m looking forward to that as uneven skin tone is something I’ve struggled with since day one. Ditching the face wipes, cleansing with a microfiber cloth and using this pure goodness oil on my skin has definitely improved its appearance and done it the world of good. I’ll update this post in a few weeks when I have give it more use.
I love Dr. Botanicals and I have their Tropical Invigorating Cream also which I love. The brand has definitely become a favourite of mine – I have been trying to use more cruelty-free brands the last few years and I prefer natural, gentle skincare products which are free-from nasty chemicals and that is what Dr. Botanicals is all about. They use top quality, natural ingredients in all of their products which are gentle on skin yet effective and they are completely cruelty-free, vegan friendly and free from animal by-products – animals should not have to suffer for our vanity and I think one day, hopefully, testing cosmetics on animals will be illegal and rightly so!
Dr Botanicals products are a bit on the expensive side but like I’ve said before, you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to skincare. Most of their products are a little out of my budget but I will definitely shop their products again – I’ll treat myself, hey and I’ll keep checking the website for sales and deals to grab myself a bargain!

I was kindly sent the Tropical Invigorating Cream from Dr. Botanicals to try out and review on my blog. Dr. Botanicals are a London-based natural & vegan skincare brand which are kind to skin as well as animals. The Tropical Invigorating cream is a duo moisturiser enriched with Elderflower which aims to protect the skin from free radical damage, it also contains Tiare Flower Extract which aims to deeply moisturise, nourish and purify the skin as well as Chaomile Flower Extract too which works to heal and soothe irritated and damaged skin.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The Tropical Invigorating Cream comes in a eco-friendly cardboard box which has lots of info printed on it about the cream, ingredients, etc… The cream itself comes in a flexible, metal tube which has a black screw lid. The packaging is gorgeous and the design on the tube is very pretty – it has what looks like gorgeous pink Adenium flowers all over the tube with forest green and aqua blue leaves too. It really is pretty packaging. The cream itself has a very mild, flowery scent which smells beautiful and it is a lightweight yet thick, non drip cream that spreads easy onto the skin.
The skin on my face has been awful lately and I recently broke out in angry blemishes all over my face, I’m not sure why or what caused me to break out but I’m glad that my skin has started to improve this week. I’ve been using Pure Potions‘ Omega Rich Cleansing Oil to cleanse my skin followed by a gentle Orange Blossom Water Toner from FoxBrim Naturals and then this duo moisturiser from Dr Botanicals. My skin has finally started to go back to normal since I have been using completely natural skincare products on my face.
So, I’ve been using the Tropical Invigorating Cream each morning and every night to moisturise my sensitive skin and I really do like it a lot. It is a gentle cream that contains no parabens or artificial ingredients which my skin always seems to react to. I love how it smells too and it doesn’t smell artificial or chemical-like at all – it has a lovely, subtle flowery scent which smells gorgeous and pretty although some may find it to be quite bland, I actually liked it. A small dollop of the cream is enough for my entire face and neck so I’m guessing the 50 ml tube will last a while – I’d say about two or three months at the most if used daily. The cream glides over the skin like silk and I was very impressed with how long it took to absorb into the skin – like one minute, not even that. I hate waiting around for creams to dry so the fact that this cream dries quickly, gets a big thumbs up for that reason alone. The cream didn’t feel sticky or greasy either and it left my skin feeling softer and firmer. I noticed it moisturised my fine lines too and they don’t look as deep or prominent as before. Also, my skin looks a lot calmer and more balanced since I began using it and it doesn’t look red or irritated as it has been these past few weeks so I’m happy about that.
I really love that this is a vegan-friendly, cruelty-free moisturiser which is completely natural and I would love to try a few other products out from Dr. Botanicals, you really can’t go wrong with natural skincare products can you.
The only negative thing I have to say about the cream is the price tag. At £39.90 for a 50 ml tube I do think it is a bit on the expensive side and out of my usual budget for a moisturiser. I would definitely use this cream again although I doubt I’d repurchase it, simply because of the price. If the price was lowered I would 100% buy the Tropical Invigorating Cream again.
DISCLOSURE:This product was gifted to me for review purposes only. My opinion has not been influenced by the brand and this review is based on my own experience with the product.

I got this Suede Lips lip crayon from Rodial in my September Glossybox and this is the first time I have ever owned one of their products so I was very happy to receive it in my box. I was sent a 2.4g lip crayon in the shade Big Apple which retails at £22 on Rodial’s website. For those who don’t know about the brand, Rodial is a high-end skincare & make-up brand founded by international beauty journalist – Maria Hatzistefanis. Rodial sell a wide range of products including skincare, make-up, body-care and gorgeous little gift sets and so far I’m liking the brand.
ABOUT: ”Saturate your lips with intense pigmented colour with an on-trend matte finish with our Suede Lip jumbo crayon. The long-lasting, non-drying formula is enriched with Vitamin E and has a creamy texture, allowing colour to glide on effortlessly for smooth looking lips with a pop of colour. Inspired by the confident, independent city woman, Big Apple is a beautiful soft burgundy berry colour to add a touch of sophisticated colour for a night out with the girls.” – Rodial
VERDICT: On first impressions I did think the Big Apple shade would be too dark against my pale skin as it is a rich dark-nude, burgundy/brown colour with berry tones but I absolutely love it and it has become my fave lip colour these last few weeks and I’ve been wearing it every day instead of my all time fave Kat Von D ‘Studded Kiss‘ lipstick in shade Magick, The colour is gorgeous, not too ‘in your face’ but not a boring colour either. I love it and it is not as dark as I first thought it would be and it really compliments my skin tone.
I love the creamy texture and how it glides easily over the lips leaving a true matte finish and I didn’t find it sticky or greasy either. It stays put for hours too although I did find it to be a little drying on my lips which I’ve found quite common with matte lipsticks. My lips are always dry and chapped at this time of year so before I apply the lip crayon I make sure to moisturise my lips with my Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm to keep them hydrated and soft. I use the tip of the crayon to line my lips and I then fill in the rest with the crayon. The only downfall is there isn’t enough product in the crayon so it won’t last very long. As you can see from my photo’s I’m nearly used up but, I really do love the colour and I’m really liking the Suede Lips collection so I will defo be looking at the other shades to see what I can buy next – I just wish there was more product in the packaging.
DISCLOSURE: I receivedthis product in my Glossybox subscription box which I pay for with my own money.
WHERE TO BUY: You can get it HEREon the website for £22.
P.S. – Don’t forget to check out the pinned post on my blog. I’m giving away a beauty bundle worth £125 to one of my gorgeous readers so if you are in the UK make sure you enter HERE – you might get lucky!
I got a generous 30 ml sample size of the Firming Fiji Facial Oil from Monu Skin in my September Glossybox and I have been using it every day since – I really, really like it and I will def be getting the full size when this bottle is empty!
Sorry in advance for the low quality images – my camera is broke!
For those of you who don’t know already, Monu Skin are a natural, cruelty-free skincare brand based in the UK and all of their products contain zero parabens, no artificial ingredients and no harsh chemicals. I’ve never had anything from Monu before and I do love my natural, cruelty-free skincare products so I’ve been very excited about this facial oil and was looking forward to trying it out on my sensitive, dull and ageing skin. I’m 30 years old now, still young I know but I’m at that stage in my life where you start to notice fine lines and wrinkles appearing on your face for the first time. I’m gutted that my skin is not as firm or plump as it was in my teens and twenties so I couldn’t wait to try this oil to see if it worked and made me look a little younger.
The Firming Fiji Facial Oil:
The Firming Fiji Facial Oil is recommended for all skin types – especially dry, sensitive and mature skin. It is a soothing, paraben-free oil formulated to smooth and hydrate the skin. The oil contains, Rose Essential Oil which helps to soothe sensitive skin and it has a gentle, floral, mood-enchancing aroma, Hazelnut Essential Oil which is a light, nourishing emollient oil that is easily absorbed into the skin and great for combination and oily skin types and Patchouli Essential Oil too which is an exotic Indian essential oil which has a woody aroma – it is used for relaxing and moisturising mature skin, helping it to look firm and visibly radiant.
I’ve been using the Firming Fiji Facial oil on my face to make my complexion look brighter and to help plump and firm my newly-sagging skin and make my skin look youthful and my complexion, radiant. I have a deep frown line between my brows, fine lines around my eyes and my smile lines are starting to become more prominent so I use this oil before bedtime as an intensive overnight treatment for the whole of my face and my skin looks so good when I wake up. The oil absorbs into the skin very quickly and it doesn’t leave a greasy residue afterwards which gets a thumbs up from me as I HATE greasy oils. I’ve also been using the oil every morning after cleansing, toning and moisturising and I apply it again under my eyes, on my frown line and my smile lines just before I put my make-up on – I think it helps my base make-up to go on much smoother and helps to create a flawless finish as it stops foundation, concealer and powder from looking dry and cakey.
It is a versatile oil too and it can be used on the body as well as the face. I’ve been using a little on my hands and it literally melts my psoriasis scales and feels soothing on the skin. I love the earthly, natural woody scent it has and I especially love it for being a cruelty-free, natural skincare product which contains no harsh ingredients at all. I do try to use natural skincare products as much as possible as my sensitive skin doesn’t agree with products formulated with artificial ingredients and nasty chemicals. Natural skincare products are gentler on the skin and work so much better in the long run especially if you have skin complaints like acne or skin disorders such as psoriasis and eczema.
Where To Buy?
Like I said I have a 30 ml tester bottle and I have just took a quick look at the Monu Skin website and seen that a 30 ml bottle with an included dropper is priced at £21.95. The website doesn’t seem to stock the full-size 100 ml bottle for some reason. So, if you want to buy a 30 ml bottle you can get one HERE on the website.
I tried to find a website that stocks the 100 ml bottle and I came across it on the Look Fantastic website. The full-size 100 ml product is just £29.95 with free delivery on Look Fantastic so I would rather buy an extra 70 ml for just £8 more. I was expecting the full size to be like £50+. The only thing is – The oil is out of stock at Look Fantastic so keep checking back to see if it becomes available again. You might as well wait and get yourselves a bargain, hey. Click HERE to visit the Look Fantastic website.
I’ve had Leighton Denny’s Miracle Mist Speed Drying Spray lying around for a while now and I have only recently given it a proper try. I already own a few Leighton Denny nail polishes and I do like them a lot so I was hoping that I would like the Miracle Mist just as much as the nail polish and it would actually work as there is nothing more that I hate than waiting around waiting for polish to dry. I’m a clumsy girl and I smudge my polish every single time that I paint my nails which means I always have to re-paint them, so a spray that dries nail polish instantly seriously appealed me.
The Miracle Mist Speed Drying Spray comes in a silver, metallic 75 ml aerosol bottle and it features black writing and also has a black lid. The packaging is simple yet attractive and the bottle is lightweight and handbag-friendly. Leighton Denny, a British nail-care brand says the spray is the ultimate polish-drying spray and after spraying the mist onto freshly painted nails it will dry nail polish within seconds. It’s also perfect for giving natural nails and cuticles a moisturising Vitamin E boost and it has a fresh pleasant scent too.
How To Use The Miracle Mist?
It’s really simple and easy to use – after applying nail polish and top coat allow a minute setting time before lightly spraying nails with the mist from 20 cm away for super quick touch dry nails.
So, I put the Miracle Mist to the test and tried it out on my natural nails and my false nails. At first I painted my natural nails with one coat of O.P.I. polish – I sprayed the mist onto my nails straight away and skipped the ‘one minute setting time’. I dabbed the polish after a few seconds and it definitely wasn’t dry and was left smudged. I tried it again and this time round I followed the instructions and waited for a minute before spraying the mist again onto my nails and dabbing again to see if my polish smudges. I can happily say that the polish didn’t smudge and was completely dry. It’s always better to follow instructions isn’t it. Next I tried the mist on my false stiletto nails and waited for a minute after painted my nails to spray the mist. When I dabbed the false nails with my finger tip it was still half dry and the polish smudged a bit. I think the Miracle Mist works best on natural nails rather than artificial ones and I’m guessing you would need to allow a longer setting time before spraying the mist. So, it does work on natural nails when you follow the instructions but it doesn’t work as good on false nails.
I like how it has worked on my natural nails and dried my polish after waiting for a minute to allow the polish to ‘set’ and it does give the nail a gorgeous little shine too and it’s always good to have shiny, glossy nails. Like I mentioned above, it has a nice, pleasant scent but it contains artificial parfum in the ingredients list and because I have sensitivity to some artificial fragrances the spray caused me to have a banging headache, so if your like me and get headaches off sprays and perfumes, then I’d avoid this product like the plague. To be completely honest, I wouldn’t recommend the Miracle Mist and I’d rather wait a minute or two longer than fork out £12 for something that doesn’t work as well as it says it will. I will definitely not be repurchasing the Miracle Mist and in future I’ll try to be more careful and patient when waiting for my nail polish to dry.
Where To Buy?
If you still want to purchase the Miracle Mist regardless of my review, then you can do so HERE for £12 on the Leighton Denny website.

I received my Purifying Pink Clay Mask by Sand $ Sky in last months Birchbox and I have used it a couple of times since. I have got the 13g sample size tube and I’ve had about 3-4 uses out of it. I was so happy when I opened my Birchbox and seen this gorgeous little thing sitting inside, I’ve heard so many good things about the pink clay mask so I couldn’t wait to give it a try for myself.
For those who don’t know – Sand & Sky are an Australian cruelty-free skincare brand founded by twin sisters – Sarah & Emily Hamiliton. After taking a look at the website it seems they only sell the Purifying Pink Clay Mask at the moment but maybe they will add more products to their collection in the near future.
What Is The Purifying Pink Clay Mask?
Sand & Sky claim the Purifying Pink Clay Mask is a botanical infused 4-in-1 formula which can be used as an instant detox mask, to tighten pores, to invigorate a dull complexion and instantly boost radiance.
Pink Australian Clay which helps to draw out impurities, toxins and pollutants from the skin. Also refines pores and deep cleanses the skin.
Organic Liquorice and Old Man’s Weed which helps to regenerate skin cells and stimulate cell production. Also, gently removes pigmentation clusters from the skin’s surface.
Organic Aloe Vera and Pomegranate which tightens pores & soothes after Detoxify & Brighten and also stimulates collagen production.
Kakadu Plum & Kelp and Organic Mangosteen which helps prevent free radical damage and creates a defence shield to leave skin clear and glowing.
As I mentioned above I only have the 13g sample size which comes in a small tube. The full size product comes in a 58ml tub and you get a free face mask brush with it. The packaging is gorgeous, it is a lovely blue colour and it looks fresh and modern. The mask itself is a beige, almost pale pink colour and it smells natural and pleasant.
I’ve used the mask about three times now and so far I really like it but I wouldn’t say it is the best face mask I have ever used – it doesn’t compare to my Bentonite Clay masks but yeah, I do like it nonetheless. I slather it all over my face avoiding the eyes and mouth and leave my mask on for about 10 minutes each time – after a while the pale pink colour of the mask turns to a ghostly white and you can feel the clay hardening a little. After washing the pink clay mask off my skin, I didn’t see any dramatic results but it definitely left my skin feeling soft & smooth like a baby’s bum. I have dull skin but my complexion did look a little brighter than before.
As you may know from reading my other posts, I suffer with tiny blackheads on my nose which seem impossible to remove and so far the mask hasn’t done anything at all for them and they are still pretty visible after using the mask a couple of times. So I’m thinking I’d need to use the mask a lot longer than I have to see an improvement and elimination of my blackheads. It has tightened my pores and they don’t look as large now and I love how it leaves my face feeling/looking cleansed and healthier-looking.
Now lets move on to the price! I nearly had a heart attack when I seen the £39.90 price tag for the 58ml full size tub and it is quite a small tub too. Come on girls… 40 quid for a face mask is ridiculous, you have to agree – whether it works or not! Like I said I do like the pink clay mask but I very much doubt I will buy the full size as it is way out of my budget – I could get over forty 7th Heaven face masks for that! Haha!
Don’t get me wrong, I have put it on my wish-list but in the meantime I think I will buy a 500g tub of pure Australian Pink Clay powder HERE from Amazon UK for just £9.95 and make my own pink clay masks instead. I also have Aloe Vera gel here and Pomegranate oil so I will add a little of them to my DIY ‘Sand & Sky’ face masks.
Usually, I use drugstore brands such as Rimmel, MAX-FACTOR & Maybelline when buying foundations but after watching so many beauty guru’s putting the Born This Way foundation on a pedestal, I just had to buy it and try it out for myself. I’ve had my bottle for a few months now and it’s practically empty so I will definitely be repurchasing as it is without a doubt the BEST foundation I have ever used.
What Is The Born This Way Foundation?
” This oil-free foundation masterfully diffuses the line between make-up and skin. Coverage so undetectable and skin so naturally radiant, they’ll think you were BORN THIS WAY.” – Too Faced
The Born This Way foundation is an undetectable, medium to full coverage foundation which is infused with Coconut Water to replenish skins moisture levels and hydrate the skin. It’s also enriched with Alpine Rose which will help to brighten the skins appearance and promote elasticity. Also, it contains Hyaluronic Acid which works by giving the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance.
I absolutely love all of Too Faced’s packaging, absolutely gorge! The Born This Way foundation is no different either. It is a 30 ml bottle which comes in a pretty little pink box and inside is a frosted glass bottle with gorgeous gold detailing and writing. It has a black pump dispenser which can also be screwed off. On the bottom of the bottle it says the foundation can be used up to twelve months after opening too.
Shades To Choose From:
There are a whopping 24 shades to choose from so whether your light-skinned or dark-skinned there will be a colour for you. I’ve posted all the available shades below but if you want to skip straight to my review just keep scrolling down.
Swan (NEW) – fairest with neutral undertones
Snow – fairest with rosy undertones
Ivory – fairest with golden undertones
Almond (NEW) – very fair with golden undertones
Pearl – very fair with rosy undertones
Porcelain – very fair with neutral undertones
Vanilla – fair with neutral undertones
Nude – very light with rosy undertones
Warm Nude – very light with neutral undertones
Golden Beige (NEW)light with golden undertones
Light Beige – light with neutral undertones
Natural Beige – light medium with neutral undertones
Warm Beige – medium with neutral undertones
Sand – medium with golden undertones
Golden – medium with rosy undertones
Warm Sand (NEW) – tan with golden undertones
Honey – tan with neutral undertones
Caramel – rich tan with neutral undertones
Mocha – rich tan with rosy undertones
Maple – deep with neutral undertones
Chestnut – deep with golden undertones
Mahogany – very deep with golden undertones
Hazelnut – deepest with rosy undertones
Cocoa (NEW) – deepest with neutral undertones
When I don’t apply fake tan I am very pale and quite fair skinned, I also have pink undertones in my skin so I chose the Warm Nude shade in the foundation because it it is very light and has neutral undertones with will hide the pinkness in my skin, for this reason I didn’t pick a golden or rosy foundation. The Warm Nude shade is probably a shade darker than my natural skin-tone but because I wear a light fake tan, it blends in easily with the rest of my skin. If I was to not wear fake tan I think the shades Vanilla and Porcelain would be my perfect match – next time I think I’ll buy one of those shades.
The main reason why I love the Born This Way foundation is because it makes my skin look more youthful! I’ve just turned dirty thirty and unfortunately, my skin is not what is used to be in my twenties. I have fine lines around my eyes and a deep set wrinkle between my eyebrows which I despise so much and the foundation made them look way less noticeable by deeply moisturising my skin. I reckon I can pass for 25 years old when wearing this foundation, ha ha (wishful thinking) so for that reason alone I absolutely adore it.
You lot know that I have psoriasis and luckily, I rarely get any of it on my face – I don’t get many blemishes or pimples either but I do have a very dull, boring complexion with large pores on my cheeks and this foundation makes my skin look so much brighter, completely conceals my large pores and makes my skin look radiant and glowy. It is seriously just perfect.
The foundation provides a natural coverage and if you choose the right shade to match your natural skin-tone – it will literally look as if you are completely barefaced and aren’t wearing make-up at all. It is super light weight too and it feels like you aren’t even wearing it because the skin feels like it can breathe. I hate heavy foundations that feel suffocating on the skin so this gets a big thumbs up for being light and fresh.
I apply it in the morning time with a beauty blender and it seriously stays on all day and night without fading. It doesn’t oxidise on the skin either and wont make your face look orange / darker after applying
Like I said before, I don’t get many blemishes on my skin so I don’t really need a full coverage foundation so just one layer is enough for me. It is a medium coverage foundation and one pump is enough to cover blemishes but you can build to full coverage by layering as needed.
I tested a little bit out on my psoriasis for you guys to show you how well it covers imperfections. Please keep in mind that my psoriasis are raised.
Before applying Born This Way:
After applying one layer of Born This Way:
The only thing I didn’t like was after a few hours – (I’m talking 12 hours later / at the end of the day) my skin was shiny and oily on my forehead and cheeks which I don’t get as I have dry skin and the foundation is meant to be oil-free. The foundation does stay put all day long nonetheless and the shine is easily removed with a bit of setting powder though, so I’m not really bothered to be honest.
Also when the bottle is nearly empty it won’t dispense any more foundation when pressing the dispenser so I’ve screw mine off and I dip a thin make-up brush into the bottle neck to get all the foundation out which has coated the bottom and sides. Gotta get my money’s worth, hey! I will be buying a new bottle this week and I’m thinking of buying the Born This Way concealer and the Born This Way setting powder too! 🙂
Where To Buy?
I did try to buy the foundation on the Too Faced website but they don’t ship to the UK so I had to get mine here from Debenhams, next day delivery is available. It’s £29 to buy and they have a very temptating offer on right now too, so if you spend £50 or more on Too Faced products, you will receive a free gift with your order. The gift you’ll receive is Deluxe Sweet Peach Lip Gloss in Pure Peach and the Deluxe Melt-Off Mascara. Very nice indeed, hey! I might have to take them up on that offer, I can’t resist a freebie ha ha!
You can also get it on Amazon UKhere*. It is a bit dearer on Amazon UK so would probably be best getting it from Debenhams – but if you have an Amazon Gift Card or something you want to spend, then go ahead. The Born This Way foundation is dispatched and sold by Amazon and not a marketplace seller, so you shouldn’t worry as it is definitely 100% genuine.
If you are from the USA, the Born This Way foundation is $39 and you can shop on the website here. You will get a FREE Hangover Deluxe, Deluxe La Creme Lipstick, & Deluxe Love Flush Blush on ANY purchase over $65!*
Thanks for reading girlies! – I hope my review has been helpful! Mwah!
Last week I signed back up to Birchbox and I’ve been waiting patiently for my box to arrive. It turned up yesterday shortly after my Glossybox and I’m pretty pleased with the products in my box. When I signed up I was given the option to choose a box design out of two boxes but I was given the one I didn’t choose. Not that I’m bothered though. Ha.

Manna Kadar – Fantasy 3-in-1 Blush, Highlighter, Eyeshadow | RRP £15*
Sorry for the lame photograph, I still haven’t bought a new camera! This is the first time I have ever heard or owned a product from Manna Kadar. The Fantasy 3-in-1 Blush, Highlighter and Eyeshadow is a gorgeous shade, almost bronze. I swatched a little bit of it on the back of my hand and so far I absolutely love it. I haven’t used it on my face yet as I am having a lazy, make-up-free PJ day so I will post a full review when I get dolled up.
Okay, so I have been excited about this product from Polaar, it is the IcyMagic Instant Eye Contour Energiser which helps to eliminate puffiness, dark circles and stimulates eyelash growth and also contains Siberian ginseng. I tried this out before and although I’m happy with the results, I had the fright of my life when I was trying to lubricate the ‘ball’ by squeezing it a little – the metal ‘ball’ popped and nearly put a hole in my ceiling and cause me to have heart failure, ha ha. So, now it is ball-less and to be honest it’s actually easier to apply underneath my eyes as the ball felt ‘stuck’ and didn’t roll much when applied. Will post a full review soon.
Dr. PawPaw – Original Clear Balm | RRP £6.95*
This is my first product from Dr. Paw Paw and I have been wanting to try their products out for ages. This is a 10 ml tube of the multipurpose balm which is fragrance-free and cruelty free. It’s also a great healing balm which can be used literally anywhere on the lips, skin and hair. I’ve only used a little on my chapped lips so far and it has soothed them and made them soft again! I’ve yet to try it on my skin and hair! I would repurchase this again! I think it is £6.95 for the 25 ml.
Already used this Purifying Pink Clay Mask from Sand & Sky and I do really like it. It’s enriched with vitamin A and is also a cruelty-free product as well. In my box was a small 13g sample which is enough for about 2 maybe 3 face masks. I had a pamper sesh last night and used this mask with some cucumber on my eyes! Complete bliss! I would buy the full size but at £39.90, it is a bit out of my budget so I’m not sure if I’ll buy it again. I have added it to my wish-list though!
Benefit – They’re Real! Doube The Lip in Pink Thrills | RRP £16.50*
I would have loved this but unfortunately Birchbox forgot to put it into my box. I didn’t even realise it was missing until I read the ‘what’s in your box’ leaflet. Not to worry though, I have emailed Birchbox and I’m sure they’ll send me one out pretty soon.
Lord & Berry Mascara & Eyeliner Duo
When I signed back up to Birchbox, I was asked to enter my email address to receive a free promo code for a special treat. The code they give me was for this Lord & Berry – Mascara and Eyeliner Duo which I will definitely be using. I love Lord & Berry and own a couple of their products already. Will post a review soon.

I bought some Toni & Guy shampoo & conditioner last week from their Cleanse & Nourish hair collection, I chose their Damage Repair Shampoo & Conditioner as I’ve been on the lookout for a really good shampoo & conditioner to repair my damaged, frizzy hair. I’ve never bought anything from Toni & Guy before so I didn’t know what to expect but I thought with them being such a popular hair care brand, that the products were sure to be good.
Both the shampoo & conditioner come in 250 ml bottles and to be honest I expected them to be much bigger than they were, although they still had a good amount of product in each. Both bottles also have a push down dispenser which I found easy to use.
I absolutely love the Damage Repair shampoo! It has a pearlescent shimmer and foams up so well I literally had a ball whilst washing my hair and I didn’t want to rinse it off. To say the bottle is not as big as I thought it would be, I think one 250 ml bottle will last a lot longer than expected simply because it lathers so good. The shampoo helps to revitalise hair fibers, which leave it feeling much stronger and a lot more manageable. My hair is super frizzy and dry and this shampoo not only moisturises my hair pretty well but it gently removes excess oil, dirt and impurities from the hair and scalp, whilst giving it a gorgeous little shine and making it healthy-looking.
The Damage Repair Conditioner works by penetrating deep into the hair, repairing damage from root to tip leaving it feeling soft to the touch, I noticed my hair looked healthier after only using once. Like the shampoo, the conditioner has a lovely perfumed scent and it smells gorgeous. I think I may need to buy the conditioner more frequently than the shampoo which lathers amazingly because I like to slather lots of conditioner onto my hair, so basically the shampoo will last longer than the conditioner.
I highly recommend both the shampoo & conditioner if you have frizzy, brittle, dry and damaged hair. After only a week of using the shampoo & conditioner I’m really pleased with the results so far and expect to see better results after each use. My dull, brittle hair appears shinier, softer and less damaged and so much more healthier looking in such a short period of time and I will definitely be repurchasing.

Just a short little review coming up today. I have a 70ml bottle of RITUALS… Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk Ultra Rich Whipped Body Cream which I received from Birchbox absolute ages ago and it’s been a firm favourite of mine ever since. This is the first product I have used from RITUALS… and I hope their other products are as good as this one because I can’t wait to try some others out.
I’ve seriously fell in love with this body cream, the natural ingredients of rice milk and cherry give the cream an absolutely gorgeous, sweet scent. I just love how it smells and there is no need to wear perfume as the cream lingers on the skin for hours, making you smell absolutely amazing. I can’t describe how it smells, it doesn’t smell like cherries, it’s more like an expensive perfume. The scent is literally to die for and smells like heaven in a bottle.
The whipped body cream is an ultra, rich, thick and velvety cream that literally glides over the skin like silk leaving it feeling so soft and nourished. It absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky or greasy feeling afterwards.
As most of you know, I have psoriasis so I have got to be careful what I put on my skin to prevent flare ups and irritation, but I am pleasantly surprised that this cream, especially because it smells perfumey, it has not irritated my skin at all and instead softened my psoriasis helping it to clear up. It’s literally magic and definitely one of my all time favourite beauty products.
A few months back I managed to pick up Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the super bright red shade called Outlaw which I got from Love Me Beauty, a fab monthly beauty subscription box which allocates 60 points each month. Unlike other sub boxes Love Me Beauty allows you to choose your own high end products. The everlasting liquid lipstick cost me 20 points so I still had 40 points to spend on other products. The monthly subscription is £10 + £2.95 p&p and you can also buy add on points. If you’d like to sign up to Love Me Beauty, use my promo code ‘KATY99737822’ to get £21 worth of LMB credits to spend on whatever you like. You also get a different make-up bag every month.
The packaging of the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is very pretty, I love the floral detailing on the lid. The lipstick itself is a gorgeous rich red colour with slight orange undertones and it is a good quality, highly pigmented, full coverage shade that seriously stays put.
It glides on the lips like a silky, creamy lipgloss and quickly dries to a matte finish. It is enriched with natural moisturisers including vitamin E and sunflower seed wax. Best thing is the lipstick is suitable for vegans and 100% cruelty free which is great. I love it.
You guys may know I’m a Birchbox subscriber and today I love Birchbox a whole lot more than I ever did before. I got myself a freebie! Woohoo! After reviewing some of my monthly box goodies, I was allocated some points to spend in the Birchbox shop and I bought myself a lovely little bronzer from Lord & Berry in the shade ‘Sienna’. The bronzer is £19 to buy but I got mine for 200 Birchbox points, so basically I got mine free.
Most of you will know all about Lord & Berry, but for those who don’t they are an Italian based cosmetics company known as the eyes and lips specialists who make high-end beauty products loved by make-up geeks, MUA’s and beauty bloggers worldwide.
I love the bronzer because it matches my skin tone perfectly. I always find it difficult selecting the right shade of bronzer but I’ve done quite well picking the shade ‘Sienna’ which is perfect and not to dark for my skin tone. I’m the palest of pale, so I often rely on bronzers to give my Casper-like complexion a bit of faux glow and warmth but most bronzers that I have used in the past have always been too dark for my skin tone, too shimmery leaving my face looking like Edward Cullen in daylight, making my skin look absolutely mingin’ like I need a good wash or they can be too drying on my skin making me look older. This bronzer just gives me a lovely natural glow with a matte finish and it doesn’t look OTT, fake or leaving me resembling an Oompa Loompa like most do.
What I especially love is the powder blends easily and it doesn’t settle into my fine lines or wrinkles which is great as bronzers and powders often make me look older than I am but this is just lovely, it looks subtle, very natural because it doesn’t contain any shimmer and it makes my pasty complexion look a hell of a lot more healthier. Overall I think this powder is an excellent all purpose bronzer and works well for tanning the skin as well as contouring – leaving my skin looking one hundred percent natural. It is a bit expensive compared to inexpensive drug store brands but it’s totally worth it.
Buy the Lord & Berry Bronzer for £19 here. There are various shades to choose from.

One of the reasons I love beauty subscription boxes is discovering new brands and products for the first time and falling head over heels in love with them. I fell hard when I got this Cleanser from Eve Lom in my October Birchbox and for the last couple of weeks, this multi-award winning cleanser balm has been an absolute diamond and it has fast become a favourite of mine. I have been using it twice daily and even though I was sent a small… 30ml travel sized pot in my Birchbox, I’m actually surprised at how long this small tub has lasted. So. In two months I’ve used a 30ml tub so I’m guessing a 250ml tub will last around 6+ plus months so you would defo get your moneys worth.
How To Use.
Rub a bit of the balm into your face, rinse the muslin cloth under hot water and place over the face to help open pores, wipe away all traces of make-up, dirt and oil and exfoliate and then rinse the cloth again under cold water and wipe over the face. It is a gorgeous smelling balm, quite minty and herbal and it melts as soon as it touches the skin, gliding effortlessly across the face. You can use a muslin cloth to cleanse and exfoliate the skin but I also use some cotton wool pads when I’m in a rush.
I loved the fact that I seen results after the first use, no kidding! Plus my skin and complexion improved after each use and it has been looking very radiant lately. It has been almost two months and I have seen a huge difference to my skin tone, it looks more even in colour. I did have a bit of hyperpigmentation on my cheeks but the uneven patches are nowhere near as noticeable as beforehand and my skin looks and feels hydrated. This godsend of a cleanser is amazing at moistuising and nourishing the skin and my demon wrinkles and fine lines have also smoothed out so much, my frown line is not as deep-set as it was so hooray! (I hate getting older!)
This is the first product I have ever used from Eve Lom and I’m hooked on the brand already, I’m just gutted that the cleanser is a bit on the expensive side as are the other products. I have never paid more than £20 for a cleanser (my Glycolic Cleanser from InstaNatural). so it is a little out of my budget at £55 for a 50ml tub, £85 for a 200ml tub and £250 for a 450ml tub! Jesus! Mary! Joseph! I’ll have to rob a bank.
Would I buy again?
I don’t usually spend that much on a cleanser but hell yeah, I’ll be buying it again! I’d be a fool not to. You can get some here if you’d like to try it out yourselves. I’m pretty certain you guys will LOVE it! This is definitely a cleanser I’d recommend for all skin types and skin concerns and I would use this all year round for sure – rain, snow, wind, sun, it really is a multi purpose cleanser.
Has any of you used any other products from Eve Lom before? What’s your fave one?
