Pura Cosmetics: Classic Coconut Lip Scrub & Lip Balm Combo

I was sent the Classic Coconut Lip Scrub & Classic Coconut Lip Balm a while back from Pura Cosmetics who are a natural, cruelty free lip-care brand selling gorgeous little lip scrubs and lip balms.

They also do thoughtful little wedding favours for guests and bridesmaid and flower girl gifts which is a cute idea and something I’ll keep in mind for when I tie the knot. Although, bear in mind, I have been with my partner over 12 years (a life sentence) and he still hasn’t popped the question so I won’t hold my breath, ha ha!

Classic Coconut Lip Scrub

The Classic Coconut Lip Scrub comes in a pretty little screw top jar and is a great little exfoliatior for the lips. One of the main ingredients in the lip scrub is coconut oil which is well-known for moisturising and nourishing the skin amazingly. The golden caster sugar gently exfoliates the lips and is the perfect remedy for dry and chapped lips. It gives your lips the perfect base to apply lipstick giving you a perfect pout. It also has the most sweetest, coconut scent ever, it really does smell lovely.

How To Use?

Apply a small amount of scrub to lips with your finger and gently buff and rub into the skin until your happy with the results. Once done, remove the excess scrub off your lips with a bit of tissue to reveal a gorgeous pout.

Ingredients: Golden Caster Sugar, Pure Coconut Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Mica Colouring and Flavouring.

A word of warning, as this scrub contains coconut oil – you may want to avoid it if you have a nut allergy.

The Classic Coconut Lip Balm

The Classic Coconut Lip Balm comes in a little tub with a screw top lid. The balm is made with all natural and pure ingredients including vitamin E oil which is great for anti-ageing and soothing cracked and irritated skin. The balm literally melts on the lips after applying and helps to keep the skin on your lips in tip-top shape by moisturing dry, chapped and sore lips, giving them some TLC. It also gives a  natural little shine to your lips too. Like the scrub, the balm smells like a dream and is small enough to pop into your handbag.

Ingredients: Pure Coconut Oil, Olive Wax, Apricot Kernel Oil, Vitamin E Oil and Flavouring.

The lip balm also contains coconut oil, so avoid if you have any nut allergies.

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tin – Review

Ladies, gents…

Chapped lips are a pain in the arse aren’t they? My lips are ALWAYS chapped and it’s so annoying, especially when they begin to peel, which hurts like hell and they look so sore and unattractive. I have tried numerous lip balms, butters and lip scrubs over the years and nothing has worked for me in the long run, my chapped lips always come back so I needed something that would seriously sort my lips out. After one of my lovely followers recommended I try the Beeswax Lip Balm from Burt’s Bees – I went ahead and bought myself the 8.5g tin version of the Beeswax Lip Balm tube as it looked super cute and I just loved the little tin.

What is it?

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is a natural lip conditioner that has been soothing dry, lips since 1991. Beeswax and antioxidant Vitamin E condition skin, for a soothing lip treatment. A final hint of peppermint oil provides a refreshing tingle. The result is a smooth, supple smile everyone will be buzzing about. This lip balm tin fits in your purse or pocket for dry lip therapy anytime, anyplace. Spread on a little TLC with Burt’s Bees moisturising lip balm.

Ingredients

cera alba (beeswax, cire d’abeille), cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, lanolin, tocopherol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil, canola oil (huile de colza), limonene

Thoughts

First of all, when I ordered this online, I thought the tin would be quite big but when it arrived I was shocked at how small the tin was. It was tiny! There is a 4.5g tube/stick version of this lip balm which is the same price as the 8.5g tin so you do get more for your money, woo-hoo… plus you get a pretty little tin. It is non-greasy balm which is heat resistant and doesn’t melt, run or slide all over your face throughout the day. It deeply hydrates the lips and it smells minty fresh, leaving a slight tingling on the lips after applying. It also seems to be waterproof too and after drinking and eating the balm stayed put and didn’t slide off like other lip balms do.

I disliked how it takes a lot of elbow grease and finger rubbing to get even the tiniest amount of balm on the lips. You need to rub the balm about ten times with your finger to get a fair amount. This annoyed the hell out of me so I ended up using a little lip brush to make things easier and more hygienic plus it kept my fingers clean. It is more hygenic to use a lip brush to avoid contamination to the balm which will make your lips a million time worse so I do recommend using a lip brush for the tin.

It did heal my chapped lips instantly and I was happy that I could wear my matte lipsticks without my lips looking cracked and flaky. It is probably the best balm I have tried for my lips and it really does work. I no longer have sore, chapped lips after using this so I do recommend it and I would buy it again, definitely.

I got mine here on Amazon UK for £3.42

Review: Tea Tree Lip Balm from Balm Balm ❤

Hey Girls & Boys! 😘

I received BALM BALM’s Multi Purpose Tea Tree Lip Balm in my LOVE LULA February beauty box. I’ve only just got round to trying it out so I thought I would do a quick little review for you all, seeing as the Flu has cursed me with chapped lips this week!

AdobePhotoshopExpress_728e9f64ebb249339b8b42715e1cdb7c

What is it?

The Multi Purpose Lip Balm is a gentle balm that can be used not only on the lips but the face and body too! The ingredients are natural, pure and 100% organic. Made from shea butter, calendula, sunflower oil, beeswax, jojoba, tea tree essential oil and nothing else. BALM BALM claims it moisturises, soothes and nourishes the skin as well as having antibacterial properties. Great for zits and pimples! 👌

Good 👌

I love the fact the Lip Balm is 100% organic and the ingredients are natural and pure without any nasty chemicals added. I’ve been trying to use more natural and gentle products rather than those with chemicals in that I can’t pronounce never mind spell – so I will definitely be trying other products by BALM BALM in the future.

The lip balm can be used anywhere on the body not just the lips. So, I have not only tried the balm on my lips but on my dry skin too. I have psoriasis and the balm seems to have moisturised and calmed my skin tremendously. I’m actually surprised at how well it has worked on my psoriasis.

I’ve found a little bit of the lip balm goes a long way so one 10ml lip balm will last for absolutely ages. I also love how its not sticky. I hate sticky lip products that make stray hairs (from your barnett – not your lady moustache 😈) cling to your lips.

Bad 👎

I hate to admit this because I really like the pure goodness of the Balm Balm Lip Balm, I love natural products I do… – but I don’t think this lip balm has done any good for my chapped lips. I think I would use this to prevent chapped lips rather than treating them. It does moisturise my lips when the skin on my lips is healthy but right now I’m full of flu and have ugly chapped lips and they seem no better after using this. I have other lip balms that heal my chapped lips much quicker than this one, its just unfortunate that some of them contain nasty ingredients which I’m trying to avoid. So if your just looking for an organic lip balm to keep your lips smooth and soft then it will do the job but on chapped lips I would use something else. 😢

After applying the lip balm on my lips I can taste tea tree in my mouth! It doesn’t taste pretty. The taste does go away after a while although that’s probably because I’ve swallowed it, ha! But, lets be honest here… We’d rather wear a lip balm that tastes really nice or even better in my opinion – a lip balm that we can’t taste at all. Next time I will try the fragrance free lip balm.

I will use the lip balm again once my lips are back to normal but I think I’ll stick with Maybelline’s Baby Lips on my lips when they’re chapped and use this one on the dry areas on my body instead. It is a multi balm after all! 😊

Where To Buy & How Much?

You can get some from the Balm Balm website here. It is £5.50 to buy. All orders placed will receive a free FREE Rose Geranium Hand Balm Sample with any order and delivery in the UK is free when you spend £10 or more!
