Review: Superdrug – Stiletto Pink Shimmer Fashion Nails

Hey girlies… I got me some new nails! I was in Superdrug the other day and they still had lots of gorgeous stuff on sale so I went a bit mental with my bank card coz I love me  a bargain. I got loads of beauty and bath products for under £1 and I even got myself a gorgeous grey knitted hat with a pretty pink pom-pom for jus 49p. When I was at the till, I noticed they had a few different designs of false nails reduced and these pink shimmer ones caught my eye as they were really pretty and had a perfect stiletto shape so I just had to get them.

The Stiletto Pink Shimmer Fashion Nails come in a recyclable lilac and white polka dot box which has all the necessary information on the back. Inside the box is 24 light/pale, nudey pink nails which have a gorgeous stiletto shape and they are just the right length, not too short and not too long. I got one set out of the 24 nails as they didn’t have the right sized nails leftover to fit my fingernails. There is also a 2g tube of ‘pink’ glue included which has a screw off lid and tab so there is no need for scissors to cut the tube. I did expect the glue to be pink as the box states ‘pink glue’ but it was clear instead so I don’t know what Superdrug are chattin’ about. Ha! Not that I’m bothered!

I found them really easy to apply, they bonded to my natural nails quickly but the glue tube did need a bit of muscle to get some glue out. I was surprised at the glue too – usually I find that when glue-on nails are cheap the glue tends to be crap and the nails fall off within hours but these have stuck down pretty well & I still have them on a day later. Superdrug do say they are long-lasting so we will see hey.

UPDATE: By day 3 of wearing these nails they began falling off. Luckily – I always carry some glue in my handbag when I wear false nails so I could glue them back on. So, if you buy these use a stronger glue if you want them to stay on longer than a day as well as popping some in your handbag for emergencies. Nothing worse or more trampy-looking than a missing false nail. Ha.

To remove them you just cut down the middle of the artificial nail and soak them in some artificial nail remover until they dissolve – never force or pull false nails off as this can damage your natural nails.

Superdrug say the nails are suitable for vegetarians and vegans and the box has the leaping bunny / cruelty free international logo printed on the box although the nails and glue have been made in China and I thought it was law in China for all cosmetics and beauty products to be tested on animals. I might be wrong. The nails were £2.99 but the best before date is January 2018 so I got them in the sale for just £1.50. I didn’t know that artificial nails could go out of date, ya learn something new everyday hey – maybe it’s the glue. Superdrug do offer a 100% happiness, money back guarantee so if you do buy these nails and you are not happy with them for whatever reason you will probably get your dosh back.

Personally, I like the nails – I love the nudey pink colour and they have a subtle shimmer too so they look very pretty and natural plus the nails are quite strong and not flimsy at all so I do think they are great value for money – even at the full price of £2.99. The glue is quite strong but I am heavy handed so my nails do always fall off eventually. I would definitely buy these again and I will be going to Superdrug to have a look at the other designs available so I can stock up on some more.

Review: Expressions Fashion Nails | 3D Limited Edition Pearl Studded False Nails From B&M (Only £1.49!) @bmstores #nails

I popped into my local B&M Store a few days ago and I went absolutely mental buying loads of beauty bargains and gorgeous home accessories. I did pick a basket up when I first went in but I had to nip back outside and get myself a trolley because my basket was overflowing ha ha. That shop is addictive I swear – I just can’t help myself when I’m in there and everything I see – I want!

One of the items that caught my eye was these Limited Edition 3D Expressions Fashion Nails which are made from ABS Plastic and are a gorgeous nude colour with pretty pearls on – they have a lovely almond shape too and are really long.

There are 24 nails included in the box and they are really gorgeous – I couldn’t believe they were only £1.49. Absolute bargain! It says on the box that these nails are suitable to wear for 3 days or just for a girls night out but I’m hoping they stay on for  much longer as they really are beautiful. I thought I’d let you beauties know all about them as I’m sure you love a bargain as much as I do – especially when it’s a pretty bargain!

The nails also come with a nail glue which is actually ok quality to be honest – in the past when I have bought cheap nails I always ditch the included glue and use a more expensive one but this glue has surprised me… I was expecting it to be completely useless and I didn’t think it would bond well at all but it’s actually done the job and so far after 2 days of applying the nails – they are still stuck on pretty well – if you are heavy handed then I would advise using a stronger glue as well as carrying it around in your handbag just in case one falls off throughout the day – nothing worse than a missing nail! The only bad thing I have to say about the nails is that the pearls easily fall off – one of the pearls on my index finger fell off while I was washing the dishes so I will be making sure I wear my rubbers to prevent any more from falling off. You can’t really tell that I’m missing a pearl and they do still look nice.

I’ve had a few lovely compliments about them already and I do think they look more expensive than what they were! I really, really love them!

House Of Holland – Elegant Touch ‘Nail Art’ False Nails | Review ❤

House of Holland has teamed up with Elegant Touch to create a gorgeous range of false nail designs. The nails I’m reviewing today are called ‘Nail Art’. I’ve never used House of Holland false nails before so I’m excited to try these babies out. They are a little bit more expensive than other false nails out there, but in comparison, they look more expensive than the cheaper ones. I’ve always used Elegant Touch’s false nails in the past and I’ve had no complaints! I saw the House of Holland ‘Nail Art’ False Nails in the January sale at NEXT and I just had to get them! They look super cool! 😍 House Of Holland False Nails are normally priced around £8-£11 but I got these for £3.99.

In the ‘Nail Art’ box there are 24 fabulously decorated nails in 10 different sizes with 6 different designs, including nail glue and a nail file, as well as an instruction leaflet.

Applying Them

I found it a doddle and pretty easy to apply these nails. As long as you have prepared your nails properly, things should go smoothly. (Don’t forget to push those cuticle’s down). Most of you will probably know how to apply false nails to your fingernails, but for those who don’t… CLICK HERE for a quick tutorial on how to apply false nails!

Taking Them Off

I only put the nails on yesterday, so haven’t got round to taking them off yet!  (I want them to stay on for as long as possible!) You should never try to forcibly remove false nails as this will cause damage to your own nails. You can get some Elegant Touch – Get ‘Em Off False Nail Remover from most beauty outlets. It is £2.65 to buy from boots.

How Long Do They Stay On

Apparently, according to the instruction leaflet – they should stay on for around 10 days. I’ve had cheaper nails stay on longer than 10 days so maybe, being more expensive, they might last a bit longer than 10 days. I hope so, because I love them, ha-ha. I will keep you updated!

What I Like

Before I put them on, I instantly liked the nail design, which is kind of retro, pop art, comic type of thing. There is a design based on what looks like a rubrics cube, a poodle balloon design and a beautiful blue eye with a tear falling down onto a red and white polka dot background.

The nails are also very strong and durable so there is a slim chance of them cracking or breaking. As well as the quality of them, I love how it looks as if I’ve had my nails done at a beauty salon.

What I Don’t Like

Nothing really! I’m very happy with them! The only thing is, they are quite long nails so typing on your mobile phone might be a little difficult at first, until you’re used to them.

Where To Buy

As mentioned above I got my nails from the NEXT sale for £3.99. Unfortunately, Next haven’t any left in stock but you can get some direct from The House Of Holland Website for £9.
