Review: Tony Moly – Mr. Smile Patch For Smile Lines, Laughter Lines & Wrinkles

Bits & Bobs of Beauty (an online Korean Beauty store), kindly sent me this Mr. Smile Patch by Tony Moly to try out and review on my blog. I’ve been really looking forward to using this product as since my late twenties (I’m 30 now) I have noticed my skin has changed quite a bit and I can see that my skin is not as plump as it used to be. I have started to notice fine lines, wrinkles and smile lines on my face, which sucks! I mean, I know I’m still young but it really annoys the hell out of me when I look into the mirror and notice my fine lines and smile lines becoming more prominent as I get older. I thought I would try this ‘Mr. Smile Patch‘ from Tony Moly to see if it actually works and helps my smile lines become less noticeable as well.

Tony Moly – Mr Smile Patch

Mr. Smile Patch:

The Mr. Smile Patch is a hydro-gel mask from Korean beauty brand Tony Moly. It targets laugh lines with a potent yet gentle mixture of ingredients. Express your sense of humour while treating your face to a nutrient enriched, vitamin-packed mask. This mask is filled with nourishing Berry, Sesame Seed, and Bean Extract which is packed with vitamins that help your skin fight those stubborn laugh lines!

22491749_1787366348222713_1669539004140593692_n22552822_1787366488222699_3070328478585389360_n22549808_1787366491556032_2210362914281774874_n22365160_1787366484889366_1299910610427876663_n

Key Ingredients:

Niacinamide – Soothes redness, helps calm and brighten the appearance of skin.

Collagen – Supports skin structure and elasticity.

Sesame Seed Extract – Full of zinc, an essential mineral to produce collagen, and other antioxidants which helps to detoxify skin.

All Ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Alcohol, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract, Prunus Semulata Flower Extract, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Citrate, Allantoin, Panthenol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Disodium Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Fragance

How To Use?

After cleansing and toning, remove patch from packaging (make sure to peel off the clear liner) and place over laugh lines for 20 minutes.

Remove and pat remaining essence until fully absorbed.

Thoughts:

Like I mentioned above – I have just turned 30 years old so as expected, I have noticed my smile lines becoming more prominent. I thought I’d give the Mr. Smile Patch a go to see if it works and makes them less noticeable and to see if it basically helps me to look more beautiful and younger – ha! So, I followed the instructions and cleansed and toned my face and applied the slippery, slimy, ‘jelly-like’ moustache patches over my laughter lines. After putting the patches on my face, I found it tricky at first to keep them on as they kept sliding down my face and falling off – so to make sure they stayed put, I layed down, kept totally still and left the patches on for 20 minutes.

22449746_1787366584889356_5985713740891112842_n

After I removed the patches I didn’t really see any difference to be honest, no major changes or anything but my smile lines did look a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more plump and firmer and my skin was softer and moisturised, but, nothing to shout about really.

I noticed that the Mr. Smile Patch also contains some questionable ingredients such as methylparaben and artificial fragrance yet it claims to be gentle, so if your into your natural skincare – avoid.  I won’t be purchasing the Mr. Smile Patch again, I don’t think it’s worth the money to be fair and I’d rather use a good, natural anti-ageing facial oil on my smile lines instead. I do love the packaging and the whole idea of the Mr. Smile Patch – the moustache like patches are cute, fun and quirky but I think it is nothing more than a gimmick to be honest.

Disclosure: This product was gifted to me for review purposes.

Review: PurOrganica – Ultimate Youth Eye Gel Treatment For Dark Circles, Bags & Wrinkles

I was kindly sent this Ultimate Youth Eye Gel from PurOrganica a few months ago and I have been using every single day since. PurOrganica are a natural, cruelty-free skincare brand and I have a few products of theirs already.

22405672_1786942081598473_2746531873045326314_n22450013_1786941904931824_8859990168083768621_n

PurOrganica claim the Ultimate Youth Eye Gel Treatment will help with dark circles, wrinkles, sagging, puffiness, loss of tone and firmness. It can be used in the morning and at night as an firming eye treatment or as an all over face gel. It can also be used as an under make-up primer. The gel is a completely natural, cruelty-free skincare product and it is made with 70% organic ingredients. The main ingredients are Organic Aloe Vera, Vitamin C, Organic Jojoba Oil, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E which all help to give eyes a youthful and radiant appearance whilst diminishing dark circles and puffiness.

First Impressions:

The Ultimate Youth Eye Gel comes in an outer cardboard box and inside is the eye gel itself which comes in a small 30 ml frosted glass bottle which has a plastic lid and a pump dispenser. There is a bit of info printed on the box and bottle including directions for use, ingredients, etc…. The eye gel is a clear, thick, non-drip gel which glides easily over the skin and it has a gorgeous, natural scent which smells absolutely lovely, quite like cucumbers, after looking at the ingredients list it does in fact contain Cucumber Distillate.

Thoughts:

I’ve been using my  the gel as an under eye firming treatment twice a day. I use it of a morning after I wake and I apply it underneath my eyes before I put my foundation, concealer and setting powder on and the gel helps my deep-set eyes appear firm and plumper – it also helps my makeup go on smoother and it stops my concealer and powder from looking creasing. I also put a little bit of the gel on my deep frown line between my eyebrows as well as on my smile lines which are becoming more prominent as I age.

Before I catch up on my beauty sleep, I like to use it as an all over face gel after I have cleansed, toned and moisturised my face and it has helped plump my skin and made my complexion look more youthful and radiant.

After applying the gel to my skin I can literally feel it working straight away by tightening my saggy skin and it feels cool and refreshing on the skin. I wouldn’t say it burns but it does feel kind of ‘minty fresh’ on the skin. I love it.

22489682_1786942088265139_445009406867044985_n22519175_1786942084931806_2345900765823018977_n

The gel absorbs into the skin fairly quickly and it really does work, well it has for me – I could see the difference after only using it once and my under eye area looked smoother and not as ‘sunk in’ as before – also the more I use it the better the results are so because I’m nearly at the end of the bottle  I will defo have to be buying it again as I love what it has done for my skin – my dark circles aren’t as dark, my skin looks plumper and my complexion looks healthier and brighter. I definitely recommend this product, especially for those over 30 who are starting to notice fine lines and wrinkles for the first time as well as for those who suffer with dark circles and under eye bags.

Disclosure: I received this product for free to review on my blog.

You can get a bottle of the Ultimate Youth Eye Gel HERE for £13.95.

If you are from the USA – you can get it HERE for $10.99.

Review: Burt’s Bees – Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap

I bought the Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap which is made by Burt’s Bees last week in one of my Amazon hauls and I am seriously loving it so far. I have really sensitive skin and psoriasis, so I have learned that washing my skin with a natural and gentle soap is a must. I love Burt’s Bees because most of their products are 99% natural, over half of them are 100% natural and they are all cruelty free.

Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap

The Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap is part of the baby-care range at Burt’s Bees. It is a gentle, 100% natural soap which is mild enough to be used on babies delicate skin. The soap is made the USA and it contains buttermilk which is richer in fats and emollients than whole milk and it is a natural, soothing skin cleanser and skin softener.  The soap doesn’t contain parabens, phthalates, petroleum or SLS ingredients and it is also cruelty-free.

The Buttermilk Soap comes in a small little box and the packaging of the soap is just lovely – the box is a gorgeous, honey-yellow colour which features a honeycomb print with cute little bumble bees and a there is a beehive sketch in the centre. There is a little bit of info about the soap on the back and sides of the box.

22448212_1786090901683591_412105921752814874_n22406052_1786091165016898_2513078495653820403_n22405795_1786091331683548_1025837533212599348_n

Thoughts:

I really love this soap and wish I had bought it sooner. I’ve fallen in love with the scent of it, which smells absolutely creamy, natural and gorgeous. The soap does contain parfum/fragrance but it is a natural one and not artificial so it won’t irritate sensitive skin. I love that this soap contains no nasty ingredients at all and it is a 100% natural soap. Considering it is a natural skincare product is really does lather well and feels creamy and soothing on the skin. As you may know, I have psoriasis and sensitive skin so my skin is easily irritated and it is often sensitive and dry but this soap is so gentle on my skin whilst cleansing it and moisturising it at the same time.

I have also been using other natural skincare products in conjunction with this soap and my psoriasis – which flared up badly recently has began to clear up so I’m over the moon, as you can imagine. I really do think that by using natural skincare products works absolute wonders for you when you have sensitive skin or a skin disorder and it is wise to avoid products which contain harsh ingredients which will make you symptoms worse. Always check the ingredients list and research each one if your unsure.

One thing I was baffled about was on the box it says the soap is a 100% natural product but on the website it says it is a 99.4% natural product!

Make your mind up Burt’s Bees. Ha.

I will definitely be purchasing this soap again, gain and again and think I’ll probably use it for the rest of my life because I like it so much. So, as you probably guessed, I 100000% recommend the Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap to everyone and anyone & especially for those with sensitive skin, psoriasis and eczema.

Where To Buy?

I got my Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap HERE on Amazon UK for £3.32.

You can also get it on the website: www.burtsbees.com

Review: Pure Potions – Skin Salvation Bath & Body Emollient Oil For Psoriasis, Eczema & Dermatitis

About two weeks ago now – I received a bundle of skincare goodies to try out on my sensitive skin and psoriasis and review them on my blog. The company who kindly gifted me the products are an amazing, award-winning, natural skincare brand called Pure Potions – all of their skincare products are cruelty-free, natural and free from harsh chemicals such as parabens, perfumes and synthetic ingredients. They are based in the UK but they do ship worldwide. I was also sent the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil which I have already reviewed here as well as their Scalp Oil for my scalp psoriasis – which I’ve yet to review.

22046537_1780392432253438_3361349410382190467_n

What Is The Bath & Body Emollient:

The Bath & Body Emollient Oil is an all-purpose, 100% natural moisturing oil suitable for all skin types and formulated to replenish moisture lost by bathing or showering. Added to bath water or smoothed on after bathing, this rich, nourishing oil reduces the drying effects of water by locking in moisture and can replace the need for potentially-irritating foaming and perfumed body washes or soap. Made from organic hemp, olive, calendula and safflower oils with chamomile and lavender essential oils. The Skin Salvation collection has also won the Best Eczema Range at the 2017 Natural Health International Beauty Awards so this proves how amazing the oil is.

First Impressions:

The Bath & Body Emollient Oil comes in a 200 ml, dark green plastic bottle. It has a white lockable flip-lid an there is a lot of info printed on the back of the bottle, such as ingredients, directions for use, benefits, etc… The packaging looks very fresh and attractive and has a ‘natural’ look. It has a very natural, herbal scent and before I even looked at the ingredients list I noticed that it had a strong cannabis / marijuana scent – after looking at the ingredients list – it does in fact contain cannabis sativa (hemp) seed oil, I can also smell the lavender essential oil too. The Bath & Body Emollient Oil has a shelf life of 6 months (natural products have a shorter shelf life than products with artificial ingredients) and the bottle is recyclable.

22195936_1784148725211142_4302305012958474343_n22308542_1784148708544477_4803970671444678832_n22195456_1784141828545165_1577218276912109996_n

How To Use The Bath & Body Emollient Oil:

This multi-purposes oil can be added to bath water and applied to damp or dry skin as a moisturising oil, it can also be used as a facial cleanser, a massage oil and a shaving oil.

My Thoughts On The Bath & Body Emollient Oil:

I mainly use my oil in the bath, it says on the bottle to add one or two tablespoons of the oil to a warm bath but I just put about three squirts into my bath straight from the bottle. Whilst bathing in the oil I can feel the oil working it’s magic and my skin instantly looks and feels smoother. When I get out of the tub I can see how well it has worked on my psoriasis because my silver scales have ‘melted’ and my red patches are much lighter in colour.

I’ve also applied the oil after bathing on my damp skin and onto dry skin as a moisturiser. The oil doesn’t feel sticky or greasy and I was surprised at how quickly the oil absorbed into my skin. I rarely take showers, as I prefer soaking in the bath tub but when I do, I apply a little of the oil to my palms and rub my whole body with my hands to make my skin feel soft and smooth and it adds moisture to my dry skin and soothes my irritated, itchy skin.

I’ve only really used the oil as a facial cleanser once or twice as I prefer to use my Omega Rich Cleansing Oil instead but it can and does work as a cleanser for the face. I applied a little bit of oil to my face, massaged it in leaving the oil to soak into my face then washed it off with a damp wash cloth. My skin was left looking clean and feeling soft and it made my complexion radiant and glowing.

After two weeks of bathing in the oil three times a week my psoriasis looks a million times better and I love how pink my patches look instead of bright red. I really wish I took before and after pictures to show you guys what I mean. So although I still have my psoriasis, this oil has definitely helped and they are starting to look like they are disappearing. My skin feels soft and is less dry than before and I just really love this oil and it works AMAZING as a shaving oil – because I have psoriasis on my legs I have been finding it difficult to shave so eek, I have had gorilla legs for a few weeks as my skin has flared up badly. The boyfriend really fancies me, hey! Ha. This oil allows me to shave my legs with ease and I absolutely love it for this reason alone. So, if you struggle with shaving – I 100% recommend giving this oil a try.

The only thing I don’t like about the oil is the need to clean my bath afterwards, I usually just give my bathtub a quick wipe and rinse with the shower head after bathing but with this oil you have to seriously give it a good scrub with elbow grease as the oil sticks to the bath – water alone won’t remove the oil. Not a big problem, I know, but I’m lazy! Ha ha.

Disclosure: This product was gifted to me for review purposes. All words are my own and have not been influenced by the brand and this review is based on my own experience with the product.

Recommended For:

The Bath & Body Emollient Oil is suitable for all skin types but I especially recommend it for those who suffer with eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and dry, sensitive skin.

Where To Buy?

You can get a 200 ml bottle of the Bath & Body Emollient Oil here for £12.99.

A 300 ml bottle is also available for £19.00.

Review: Moroccan Rose Water Facial Mist Spray – InstaNatural

I was sent this Moroccan Rose Water from InstaNatural a while back and it has become a part of my daily skin care routine ever since. InstaNatural is a natural, cruelty-free skincare brand based in the USA. They sell a wide range of organic and natural products including face masks, aromatherapy oils, natural oils, cleansers, moisturisers, toners, etc… and all of their products contain no nasty ingredients such as parabens, colourants and artificial fragrances. I absolutely love InstaNatural and I already have lots of products from the brand and I love every one of them.

22154210_1783419375284077_6716720388944904523_n

What is it?

”Our Rose Water is 100% pure, natural water made from Rosa Damascena flower petals with no artificial fragrances, preservatives or added chemicals. Rose Water is a multifunctional treatment with soothing, hydrating and revitalizing properties. This product naturally balances the skin’s pH and is an effective toner for any dry or troubling skin.” – InstaNatural

First Impressions:

The Moroccan Rose Water comes in an outer cardboard box and inside is the 120 ml white, glass spray bottle which has a spray nozzle and a clear plastic lid. The packaging is simple, fresh and attractive and there is a lot of info about the rose water on the back of the box & bottle including ingredients, how to use, benefits, etc… The Moroccan Rose Water is basically a water spray and it has a subtle rose scent which smells so pretty.

22141010_1783413831951298_3804963736359140322_n22196287_1783157985310216_4496429778912386706_n

My Thoughts On The Moroccan Rose Water:

I absolutely love this spray and use it for everything. I love how it doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances – so it is gentle and kind on my sensitive skin and it doesn’t irritate my psoriasis or make them worse. It literally smells amazing – I love rose-scented products and this rose water has a gorgeous, natural scent which smells beautiful.

After cleansing my skin, I use this Moroccan Rose Water as a toner by applying some of the rose water to a cotton pad and wiping it over my face and neck to close my pores and prevent blackheads. I also use it on damp skin after bathing and showering too and it helps to hydrate and soothe my dry skin. Now and again, I spray a little onto my hair and scalp and comb through and it makes my hair moisturised, shinier and it soothes my irritated scalp.

My favourite way to use the Moroccan Rose water is to spray some onto my skin after applying my foundation, concealer and setting powder. I just apply one or two spritz of the water to my face and my make-up looks so much more natural and flawless afterwards. It is a great little make-up setting spray and I love how it makes cakey powder appear more dewy and radiant. I  love how this is a multi-purpose spray and it can also be used as a aftershave, for aromatherapy uses, treating sunburn, for removing make-up, perking up tired, puffy eyes and so much more.

Disclosure: – This product was gifted to me for review purposes.

The Moroccan Rose Water is perfect for all skin types but I would especially recommend it for those with oily, dry or sensitive skin and those who suffer with skin complaints such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.

Review: Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion – Neutrogena

I’ve had this Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion from Neutrogena for a couple of months now. I have tiny blackheads on my nose which I can’t seem to get rid of so I thought I would give this a try to see if it helped to make them less noticeable or even better eliminate them completely.

The Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion is a unique cleanser which is made especially to help eliminate and prevent blackheads. It works deep down to remove dirt and oil trapped in your pores, removing the impurities that can lead to blackheads. It contains a powerful blackhead-fighting ingredient to help eliminate and prevent blackheads.

22089842_1783157988643549_3181854930268662280_n22196244_1783157981976883_4546060288469282730_n22196287_1783157985310216_4496429778912386706_n

First Impressions:

The Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion comes in a 200ml transparent bottle which has an orange lockable flip-lid. There is information on the back of the bottle such as ingredients, how to use, etc… The packaging is quite simple and nothing special really. The Cleansing Lotion itself is a clear watery liquid which foams a little when the bottle is shook and it also has a very strong alcohol smell.

My Thoughts On The Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion:

I don’t really like how it smells, it smells quite strong and almost like vodka. I can sometimes be allergic to artificial fragrance and this cleanser does give me a little headache, so if you also suffer with chemical sensitivities, keep this is mind before buying. The cleanser also stings a tiny bit when you first apply it and the strong smells makes your eyes watery. I usually hate products that smell artificial and ‘chemical-like’ and I do tend to prefer natural smelling products. It can also be very drying on the skin so because it contains alcohol I wouldn’t recommend this cleanser if you already suffer with dry skin. I have dry skin and it has been a little bit drying on my face but I make sure to use a really good moisturiser and nourishing face oil afterwards. I think this cleanser would be more suited to those who have normal/combination skin and definitely for those with oily skin as it completely removes all traces of oil on the face.

I really like this cleanser regardless of the smell and I love how well it takes every inch of make-up, dirt and oil off the skin. It’s easy to use – just simply apply a bit of the liquid to a cotton pad or some toilet roll and wipe over the face and neck avoiding the eye area. I’ve been using it on-off for a couple of months now and each time I use it my skin feels cleaner and soft. I love the little radiant shine it gives on the skin after using too. I can’t say it has eliminated any blackheads on my nose but it has stopped any more from appearing on my face. It is great for preventing blackheads but I’m not sure how great it is for eliminating ones that are already on your face. It also hasn’t made my sensitive skin break out in a rash or pimples either which is good. I probably will buy the cleanser again as it has helped to control blocked pores and stopped any more blackheads appearing on my face.

Disclosure: – I bought this product.

Where To Buy?

I got mine in-store at BOOTS but you can buy it HERE on the website for £4.18.

Asda, Superdrug, Home Bargains, Tesco, etc… will probably sell it too.

Review: RUIMIO – Silicone Make-Up Brush Cleaners

So, before, I posted my review on the Core Collection kit from Real Techniques and I thought I’d let you all know how I clean my make-up brushes. I was kindly sent these Silicone Make-Up Brush Cleaners from a lovely company called RUIMIO and they have made my life so much easier. I hate cleaning my brushes by hand and I always feel like they are not being cleaned properly or deeply enough, so I was really excited about trying these out.

21559022_1782439118715436_1242916235771502373_n22050215_1782392398720108_1474416938032992949_n

The two-piece portable set comes in a small box and includes a gorgeous baby pink silicone make-up brush cleaner and a pretty mint green one. They are made with safe, non-toxic, non-porous silicone which is soft and springy and will keep its shape, rinse clean instantly and last you a lifetime. They both have handy hooks too, so you can hang them up to dry after using. The brushes work by cleaning accumulated makeup, oil, dirt and bacteria off of your makeup brushes and you only need to use a little soap or shampoo to clean them, which keeps them in tip-top condition, makes your make-up brushes last longer and prevents bacteria from spreading on the skin which causes pimples, blackheads and breakouts to appear on the face.

22089648_1782439265382088_1606375056709639440_n22050172_1782439268715421_8190965909647713766_n

There are three different cleaning areas on the silicone brush cleaners: a grooved area for larger brushes, a cross-hatched area for shorter-bristle brushes and small nubs for your smallest brushes.

They are so easy to use and all you have to do is wet your brush under warm tap water, apply some shampoo or facial wash to the silicone cleaner and place two fingers inside and gently rub the brush bristles up and down and around against the grooved area, the cross-hatched area and the raised nubs. You can also hold it by hand instead of inserting your fingers. Then you just rinse the brush cleaner under the tap, pat your brush bristles dry with a paper towel and shape them while they’re wet and hang the brush cleaner up to dry.

I really love this little make-up brush cleaning set, the colours are pretty, they look so cute, they are hygienic, they work great at cleaning your brushes and they are super affordable too. What’s not to love?

Where To Buy?

I got my Silicone Make-Up Brush Cleaners here* from RUIMIO’s Amazon UK shop. They cost £4.99 and next day delivery is available.

Review: Pure Potions | Skin Salvation – Omega Rich Cleansing Oil

22046537_1780392432253438_3361349410382190467_n

I was kindly sent a few skin care goodies from the fabulous Pure Potions who are an award-winning, natural skin care brand based in the UK. The products I was sent were the Scalp Oil, the Bath & Body Bath Emollient and lastly, the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil which is what I’ll be reviewing today.

21766487_1780390095587005_2010507784612736600_n

What Pure Potions say about the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil:

Introducing the new Skin Salvation Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil is a 100% natural facial cleanser made with a luxurious combination of rich, effective, botanical oils for daily use to condition, cleanse and moisturise.

It has been formulated as an alternative to soap-based cleansers or make-up removers to cleanse dirt and excess oil from the face without stripping skin of moisture or damaging the epidermis.

When massaged into the skin the rosehip, calendula, sunflower and safflower oils bind to surface impurities, pulling out dirt without clogging pores, and allow them to be gently wiped away leaving the skin clean, soft and hydrated. It can be used as part of a daily skincare regime to remove mascara, foundation and other make-up as well as the grime and pollutants of everyday life.

This super-rich oil also nourishes and protects skin that might need extra care, particularly ageing, fragile or damaged facial skin, because, unlike most brands of cleansing oils, Pure Potions’ Skin Salvation Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil is a blend of carefully-selected natural oils and contains absolutely no perfume, preservatives or other added ingredients. We don’t use even essential oils in this blend because sensitive skin on the face can react to these natural additives; it is just a pure and simple blend of plant- and seed-based oils.

Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*
Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil*
Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil
Calendula Officianalis (Calendula) Flower Oil*
*organic ingredients

My Thoughts:

I am absolutely over the moon that I have come across this brand as their gentle products have helped my skin tremendously in such a short period of time. I have been using the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil twice a day, when I wake up – before I apply my make-up and to take it all off before I go to bed. It takes make-up off so well leaving my skin deeply cleansed and even removes waterproof mascara and I love that it doesn’t clog pores on the skin too which will keep pimples, blackheads and whiteheads from appearing. After cleansing my face with the oil I am left with a little dewy shine which makes my skin look radiant and glowing. Luckily, I don’t really get psoriasis on my face apart from underneath my eyebrows but since using this oil is has kept them at bay. It has done my skin the world of good and it looks so much healthier already. My complexion is a lot brighter which I’m so happy about as usually it looks very dull and greyish.

There is quite a lot of product in the bottle and you only need to use the smallest amount as a little bit goes far, so it is long-lasting. I have been using this for about a week now and you would think I haven’t even used any at all as the bottle is still full to the brim

What I also love about the cleansing oil is that it is a 100% natural cleansing oil that contains no parabens, no perfumes, no palm oil, no SLS, no phthalates, no silicones, no PEG’s, no mineral oil and no synthetics. It is probably the safest cleanser you can use on sensitive skin and removes make-up, impurities and dirt without irritating the skin or worsening symptoms.

21762124_1780390208920327_8693363478964169220_n

I apply it all over my face, (sometimes I leave it on for a few minutes to let it deeply moisturise my skin) then wipe it off with a damp wash-cloth. I am not usually a fan of cleansing oils as I like my creams and facial washes but this is an oil I will be using again and again and I will be re-purchasing.

22007781_1780390168920331_2536712393824931532_n

The only thing I dislike about the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil is that after applying to the face it requires you to wash your hands with soap afterwards to remove the oil from your hands, not a biggie really. Plus, I think it is a little expensive at £22 a bottle but as I said before, one bottle will last a long time and the cleansing oil really does soothe, hydrate and cleanse problem skin, thanks to its natural ingredients.

So I suppose you get what you pay for, hey!

Recommended for:

Absolutely anyone can use this cleansing oil! Women, men, children, old and young. It is recommended for those who have sensitive skin and those with skin disorders but even if your skin is healthy you can use it. The omega rich cleansing oil is perfect for those with dry and allergy prone skin, so if you have psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, acne or rosacea – I would 100% recommend giving this cleansing oil a try.

Review: Tropical Soap Collection – Art Naturals

A few months ago, I was sent the lush Tropical Soap Collection from Art Naturals
who are a natural skincare brand selling, natural, BPA-free, cruelty-free and eco-friendly skincare products. They sell essential oils, hair care products, skin care products, bath and body body products, aromatherapy sets and oil diffusers and they even have a men’s collection too!
ART NATURALS TROPICAL SOAP COLLECTION REVIEW
ART NATURALS TROPICAL SOAP SET 1
The Tropical Soap Collection is a 6-piece soap bar set suitable for all skin types and can be used by both men and women. The soaps are all infused with jojoba oil and different aromatherapy oils including lavender, lemon, grapefruit, tea tree, sweet orange and eucalyptus. All individual 4oz soap bars are sulfate-free, paraben-free, mineral-oil free and cruelty-free.
ART NATURALS TROPICAL SOAP SET 2

The Tropical Soap Collection

Floral Detox: a renewing cleansing soap infused with lavender.

Soothing Citrus: a rejuvenating cleansing soap infused with orange.

Tropical Cleanse:  a regenerating soap bar infused with grapefruit.

Miracle Wash: a reviving cleansing soap infused with tea tree.

Cool Mint: a cleansing soap infused with eucalyptus.

Purifying Zing: a cleansing soap infused with lemon.

ART NATURALS SOAP

Ingredients: Sodium palmate (palm oil), water, glycerin, jojoba oil, essential oils, sodium chloride.

Verdict:

I am really loving the Tropical Soap Collection from Art Naturals, they are probably the best soaps for my skin disorder that I have used in a long time and I do really like them! They also come in a pretty enough box to be given as a gift, so I would definately consider purchasing a few boxes to give out as little gifts for birthdays, Christmas, etc… I would love something like this as a present!

The soaps are all pretty good-sized 4 oz bars too. One bar of soap lasts absolute ages and I have only used two bars so far in the few months that I’ve had them, for this reason alone I do think this soap set is worth the money as they are really long-lasting and good quality.

I also found the soaps worked up a good lather too and my skin felt really clean and soft after using them. They do smell really nice although if you were to blindfold me I would not be able to work out which soap was which. To be completely honest, they do all smell quite similar, sweet, pretty, mild and natural  – but then again my sense of smell is awful, so don’t take my word for it!

I have psoriasis and I have found these soaps do not irritate my skin like most others do or cause my skin to flare up and react – I think that is all down to the natural ingredients that are in the soaps and the fact that they are all paraben-free, sulfate-free and mineral oil free. So, I would recommend and I do think these are the perfect soaps for people with sensitive skin, skin problems or skin disorders as they gently cleanse and moisturise the skin without irritating the skin or worsening symptoms.

Get the Tropical Soap Collection here from Art Naturals Amazon UK shop.

The Tropical Soap Collection is £13.95 – Same day & next day delivery available.

Review: TRU LEGS – Instant Make-Up Spray Tan From Home Bargains – It’s only 49p!!!

You guys will know how much I love shopping at Home Bargains for my beauty supplies, it’s local, it’s cheap, and you really do pick up some beauty, hair and skin bargains. Whilst browsing the beauty aisle I came across this instant, wash-off spray tan called TRU LEGS for 49p. Yep, 49p. I had to buy it, I love trying new products out and I wanted to see if it was any good considering it was so inexpensive. I have been using Sally Hansen’s spray tan since the early noughties which is priced at around £9.99 so I was interested to see how it would compare.

TRU LEGS SPRAY TAN FROM HOMEBARGAINS - 49P

TRU LEGS say the spray tan is ‘ for beautiful, flawless looking legs with a natural glow and subtle shimmer. It’s quick drying fine spray creates an even, streak-free finish in an instant. The water-resistant formula helps hide imperfections for a longer lasting result.’

TRU LEGS HOME BARGAINS DARK SPRAY TAN INSTANT MAKE UP_edited

How To Apply?

Its quick, easy and simple to apply, just simply hold the bottle 25 cm from your skin and spray lightly. Blend in with your fingertips until it’s all even and streak-free. Reapply another layer if neccessary and don’t dress until the tan has dried.

TRU LEGS INSTANT MAKE-UP SPRAY TAN 75ml

First I’ll talk about the colour, I chose the DARK one and before I even tried it on my skin I thought I should have probably chose the LIGHT or MEDIUM bottles as my natural skin-tone is quite pale, almost porcelain and I just wanted a healthy glow – I’m not into that tango-ed look! Ha!

TRU LEGS TAN REVIEW
Before applying TRU LEGS
TRU LEGS TAN
After applying TRU LEGS

It has a perfumed scent which is actually quite nice. It doesn’t smell overpowering or unbearable and after applying the tan the pretty smell stays on the skin. It doesn’t smell bad at all which I find with most tanning products.

The coverage of this spray tan is pretty poor to be honest, if you have flawless, blemish-free skin this will not be a biggie for you but if you suffer with psoriasis like me or have scars or blemishes – this will not cover any of your imperfections. I definitely prefer Sally Hansen’s spray tan for this reason alone which I find hides and covers most of my psoriasis and conceals any skin blemishes.

There’s nothing worse than putting fake tan on and getting caught in the rain or going on a girls night out and your clumsy friend spills their drink all over your legs making them look streaky. Well, TRU LEGS claims that its water-resistant so I put it to the test and ran my arm under the tap to see if the tan is water resistant and I can confirm that the water just rolled of my skin like it would if you had baby oil on. Although it’s water resistant, it can be washed off easily with soap and water.

Verdict:

I do like TRU LEGS spray tan and actually think it’s a great little bargain at 49p. It’s easy to apply, easy to wash off with soap and water and water-resistant too so no need to worry about streaky or patchy tan if it rains. The colour of the tan is not as dark or deep as I would have liked but I was happy with the end result which looked natural and lightly tanned. It didn’t really do much for my blemished skin so I wouldn’t recommend this tan for someone who is trying to conceal any marks on their skin. I would recommend Sally Hansen’s Spray Tan for that. It does give a flawless finish and is easy to blend into the skin, my skin didn’t look streaky or patchy either which is good. I don’t think this tan will last very long on the skin and will fade easier than more expensive spray tans. I’m actually surprised with this product and I never thought it would be as good as it is! It’s not the best tan I have ever used but it’s not the worst either! The TRU LEGS from Home Bargains won’t be replacing my Sally Hansen Spray tan but I would consider buying it again.

Review: Blue Zoo – Depilatory Hard Wax Beans For Hair Removal (No Strips Required)

I was kindly sent some of Blue Zoo’s Depilatory Hard Wax Beans to review and I’m not going to lie I have been shitting myself thinking about using them. I am the biggest wimp ever when it comes to pain and I’ve always had the impression that waxing = PAIN. After reading some reviews on the wax beans, I’ve learned that these hard wax beans don’t hurt as much when removed and nowhere near as painful as sugar wax or wax strips.

21751281_10213812415168906_974073718195310934_n

How To Use?

The Hard Wax Beans require no wax strips and are fairly simple & easy to use.

21751666_10213812418368986_176905883856347925_n_edited21617950_10213812419809022_6102698672227145695_n

1) Take the appropriate amount of wax beans to melt.

I used two handfuls of the wax beans, which was well enough for my forearms and upper lip, I even had some leftover

2) Heat the wax to a melting temperature of 68℃

You can use an electric wax warmer or place a bowl inside a hot saucepan of boiling water and heat gently. The wax takes about 10 minutes to completely melt. Be careful not to get any water in the bowl of wax beans.

21752399_10213812421009052_6357648563338569543_n

3) When the wax has melted, it gives off a subtle lavender scent which smells pretty. Test a little bit of the wax by putting a dab of it on the back of your hand. If it is too hot or hurts, wait a minute for it to cool down a little bit. Once your happy with the temperature, using a spatula, spread a layer of the wax on the skin along the direction of the hair growth.

21558619_10213812421769071_8406873449865459035_n

(Remember, your hairs need to be longer than 5mm, if your hairs are too short the wax won’t grab the hairs well and wont be removed. Also, the thickness of the wax you apply will need to be at least 1.5mm. If you spread it too thin onto your skin, it won’t remove any hairs and may hurt when doing so.)

4) When the wax becomes cool, hard and makes your skin feel taut, pull off the wax film with a quick pull against the direction of the hair growth. The faster you do this the less painful it will be.

If you have any leftover wax, you can wait until it hardens and it can be reheated to use again another time.

Ingredients

Colophonium(Rosin), Glyceryl Rosinate, Ethylene/VA Copolymer, Paraffin, Glyceryl Hydrogenate Rosinate, Methyl Hydrogenated Rosinate, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, C30~45 Alkyl Methicone

Warnings:

Do not use if you have inflamed skin or had a reaction to any wax products in the past. If you have a skin disorder (like me) consult your doctor before using. Also, do not use within two hours of showering or sunbathing. If it is your first time using any wax products, test the wax on a small area 24 hours before using to rule out any skin reactions. If your skin does react to the wax, use aloe vera gel on your skin and discontinue use.

Verdict?

On the packet it says that the Hard Wax Beans are suitable for the removal of body and facial hair on all skin types but if you have a skin disorder you should consult your doctor. I have psoriasis and I remember when I was in beauty school back in the day, my teacher wouldn’t allow me to get waxed because of it, so make sure you get professional advice before using if you have skin problems.

At the moment my psoriasis has flared up really badly, It’s even flared up on my armpits so I decided against using the wax on my body and chose the safer option instead and used it on my forearms and upper lip as those areas are psoriasis-free.

I’m actually surprised that it didn’t hurt, I was expecting to be in tears afterwards but I was proved wrong. I’ll admit I felt the littlest amount of pain but it was bearable and I’m not put off using them again. I found them easy to use, the wax had a lovely lavender scent after melting and when I removed the hard wax film on my skin I could see lots of tiny hairs stuck to it, so they do work. My skin was a little red afterwards but it soon faded leaving me with smooth, hair free skin. I will definitely be using these again and I 100% recommend.

I’ve no complaints about this product and I would give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Where To Buy?

You can get a bag of Hard Wax Beans from Blue Zoo by clicking here. One 100g bag is only £6.66 and if you’re an Amazon Prime Member you can get same day delivery. I do recommend buying some waxing spatulas too, they are quite cheap and you can pick some up here for less than £2.

Review: MABOX – Deep Cleansing Black Mask

I was sent a tube of MABOX’s Deep Cleansing Black Mask to try out & review on my blog and since it arrived I have used it a couple of times already. I do own quite a few black masks already so I’m well stocked up on them right now but it’s always nice to try a new product out instead. I love my black masks and think they are the best thing ever for removing blackheads and blocked pores so I use them a lot. I even posted my own DIY Black Mask Tutorial earlier which was super easy to make and it actually works!

You can read my own DIY Black Mask Tutorial here.

Deep Cleansing Black Mask by Mabox

kk

The Deep Cleansing Black Mask is made in China and comes in a little box, inside is the 50g black mask tube. There is a little bit of info written on both the box and tube which includes the ingredient list and directions for use, although I must say this is written in broken English that does not make sense and there are a few grammar mistakes too.

The mask itself is sticky and black with a runny consistency, it glides easily across the skin and dries within 15-20 minutes, depending how much you apply. Care will need to be taken when applying as it is very drippy and can get messy. The mask smells slightly perfumed and almost like a solvent – quite strong.

k

kkk

The Black Mask helps to rid the skin from blackheads, oil, blocked pores and excessive sebum whilst exfoliating and cleansing the skin. It is recommended for all skin types especially those who suffer from blackheads. It is not recommended for use on acne, spots or inflamed skin.

How To Use It?

Steam your face with a facial steamer to open your pores or fill a bowl up with hot water and place a towel over your head to stop steam from escaping.

Dry your face and spread the mask onto your t-zone, nose, forehead, cheeks and chin or anywhere you have blackheads. Avoid the jaw line, upper lip, eyes, eyebrows and hairline.

Leave on for 15-20 minutes or until the black mask has completely dried on the skin.

Gently peel off the mask, starting from the bottom and pulling upwards

Finish by splashing the face with some cold water to close pores.

Ingredients:

Water, Polyvinyl, Alcohol, Ethyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Polyvinlpyrrolidone, Bamboo charcoal, Xanthan Gum, Essence

Verdict:

I wasn’t a big fan of the scent it had but that didn’t put me off using it. Another thing that put me off a bit was the grammar mistakes on the packaging, I know that doesn’t affect the quality of the product but I just thought they could have at last made an effort with it as it looks unprofessional and makes the product look cheap and tacky.

Although there are one or two things I don’t like about the black mask, it does do the job it’s supposed to, it works. It spread easily on the skin, dried in a reasonable amount of time and didn’t hurt like a bitch when I peeled it off. Once I removed the dried mask from my nose I could see all the sebum, junk, blackheads and dirt stuck onto the strip and my skin looked cleaner and felt soft too.

I would give this 3 stars out of 5.

Where To Buy?

You can get your hands on this Deep Cleansing Black Mask from MABOX here.

It is only £5.99.

DIY Beauty Project: Activated Charcoal ‘Black Mask’

AAQ

In the last few years, activated charcoal has become a must have ingredient in skincare products, mainly because it has wonderful detoxifying properties, it’s great for cleansing the skin of dirt, drawing out impurities and its a godsend for getting rid of blackheads. It’s become very popular for teeth whitening too. I use activated charcoal about once or twice weekly to keep my teeth looking white and polished – check out my DIY Charcoal Tooth Whitening Toothpaste here.

What You’ll Need To Make The Black Mask?

For this DIY you will only need two activated charcoal capsules. If you haven’t got any you can buy some at most healthcare & vitamin shops. I got mine here on Amazon UK. I paid £15 for a bottle of 365 capsules and I only use activated charcoal on my skin and teeth so a whole years supply will last me for ages.

115

You’ll also need some non-toxic PVA glue. I picked a bottle up from the kids craft aisle in Home Bargains for 89p.

11

You will need something to mix it in such as a bowl or tub and a clean make-up brush or flat make-up sponge. I used a lid of one of my moisturisers which was big enough and I also used a make-up sponge as I didn’t want to ruin my make-up brushes.

How To Make The Black Mask?

Pour a dollop or two of PVA glue into the bowl and carefully open each activated charcoal capsule adding the black ‘ash’ to the bowl.

112

Give it a good mix and your done.

113

How To Use The Black Mask?

I recommend steaming your face with a facial steamer for five minutes beforehand. If you haven’t got a steamer just fill a large bowl up with hot kettle water, place your head over the bowl and cover with a bath towel to stop steam from escaping.

Using a brush apply the black mask to your t-zone, nose, forehead, cheeks and chin, or anywhere that has blackheads and blocked pores. Avoid your hair-line and your eyebrows as it will hurt like hell if you peel off hairs.

Leave the black mask on for 15 to 20 minutes, or until it has fully dried on the skin.

Peel off the mask starting from the bottom, gently pulling upwards. Once removed, you will notice all the gunk, dirt and blackheads stuck to it.

114

Splash your face with cold water to close your pores.

Use once or twice weekly for best results.

Verdict:

At first I was a bit weary about putting glue on my face but it is perfectly safe just make sure you use PVA glue or any non toxic child glue. DO NOT use super glue ha ha. I’ve got to say, I’m very happy and impressed with this DIY, it was the easiest thing to make and I’m surprised at how much it looks like store-bought black masks, it works just as good too. It did work at removing blackheads from my t-zone, it didn’t hurt when removing and my skin didn’t feel irritated afterwards.

So, thumbs up this DIY Black Mask was a success!

Review: Bella & Bear – ‘The Pluckers’ Tweezer Set

I was sent this pretty little tweezer set, aka The Pluckers‘ by Bella & Bear, an American beauty brand who sell beauty tools and accessories such as eyelash curlers, make-up brushes, hair brushes and so on. They sell gift cards also which would make a great little gift and Bella & Bear products are available to buy worldwide too. What I love about Bella & Bear is that all of their products have the same matching floral print which is girly and very pretty.
pl

‘The Pluckers’ Tweezer Set

The tweezers come in a gorgeous little floral case which feels kinda ‘leathery’ and looks very ‘shabby chic’. The case is good for keeping the tweezers clean as well as for storing, ideal for travelling. It is perfect size for fitting in your luggage, handbag or make-up bag.

pl1

The tweezers themselves are a mint green / aqua blue colour and they are strong, robust, sturdy and very good quality, I’ll be honest when I saw these I did originally think that they would be crap but I’m pleasantly surprised and happy to say that they look great, work well and do not appear cheap looking or tacky. In the few months since I’ve had them, they have not bent or misaligned which is good news.

pl2

There are 3 different types of tweezers included, they are: fine pointed (for really fine, small or ingrown hairs and splinters), slanted, (for precision work and great accuracy for shaping brows), straight head, (great for hair removal on larger areas. I’ve yet to use the pointed tweezers but I have used the straight head and slanted tweezers on my eyebrows and they grip hairs well, are precise and basically they do a good job! ‘The Pluckers’ have even won beauty awards and have featured in Cosmo beauty magazine as a handbag mush have for women.

Where To Buy?

USA: You can buy here for $14.97.

UK: You can buy here for £13.95. Bit pricey for tweezers but remember this is a set of three, they are great quality and will probably last you a lifetime.

A word of warning, as this scrub contains coconut oil – you may want to avoid it if you have a nut allergy.

The Classic Coconut Lip Balm comes in a little tub with a screw top lid. The balm is made with all natural and pure ingredients including vitamin E oil which is great for anti-ageing and soothing cracked and irritated skin. The balm literally melts on the lips after applying and helps to keep the skin on your lips in tip-top shape by moisturing dry, chapped and sore lips, giving them some TLC. Soniworks: Comedone Extractor Tools – Blackhead, Whitehead & Pimple Removing Kit

Hey Chicks,
I was kindly sent this Blackhead and Pimple Remover Kit from Soniworks (which was £12.99) to test and try out on my stubborn little blackheads and problem zits. The kit looks so much more expensive than it is. Soniworks say the kit has been recommended by dermatologists which is always good and the extractor tools are made from 100% dermatologist grade stainless steel. There are 5 tools which come inside the stainless steel case and also included are some instructions on how to use, details about each tool and what type of skin complaint they should be used for which is handy. Comedone extractor tools are excellent for acne treatment, blackhead extraction, zit removing, facial blemishes, whitehead popping and pimple popping.

71v05x+ZVtL._SL1600_
71SfsNbLcGL._SL1600_

First of all let me start off by saying extractors are not just for acne. I luckily don’t have acne but I do have lots of tiny blackheads under my skin, particularly on my nose, cheeks and chin and they are so hard to get rid off. I also get a few spots now and again too especially on my chin. I’ve used comedone extractors in the past, I went through a phase of detesting every little blemish, pimple, whitehead and blackhead on my face – especially on the nose area, which has lots of tiny blackheads under the skin. In the past I never really got the hang of using the extractors and soon give up but this time round I’ve had a little browse on YouTube at video’s that explain how they should be used, so I know a little bit more about them than I previously did. If you are interested in learning how they work and how to use them just type ”comedone extraction” into YouTube to see how it’s done. I must warn you all though – if you have a weak stomach, don’t watch the video’s as some of them are really gross! Ha-ha.

Before using I recommend steaming your face for five minutes or so, use a facial steamer if you have one or if not pour boiling hot kettle water into a bowl and place your head over it so the steam hits your face, then cover your head over the bowl with a towel to stop steam escaping. Be careful not to get your face too close to the hot water. Steaming your face will open your pores so after steaming extraction of blackheads, whiteheads etc is easier. I highly recommend that you read the instruction leaflet so you know which tool to use for each problem, as there are different tools for different jobs, although you can use whatever tool you feel comfortable with.

71Qfas8ERfL._SL1600_

I advise that you don’t overuse these on your face don’t spend a lot of time on one area because your skin will feel really sore. You may notice some red blemishes after using the tools but this is nothing to worry about, the redness will fade pretty quickly. Also, in my experience they do hurt a bit when using, but only if you press down too hard, it may feel uncomfortable. Always make sure you clean the tools before each use too, medical alcohol pads, rubbing alcohol or simply a little bit of disinfectant will prevent any bacteria and skin infections from happening.

It is a brilliant little kit and handy to have, you never know when a blackhead or a pimple is going to erupt on your face! – You can expect great results with the kit, especially if you know how to use it properly. I’m finally getting the hang the tools and my skin is looking so much clearer already. I have been using it once a week and with each use my skin looks healthier and my complexion is much smoother. Yippee!

You can buy a kit here for £12.99 on Amazon UK.

Review & GIVEAWAY: InstaNatural – Youth Express Night Cream

Hey girls,

(If you’re here for the GIVEAWAY, check the end of this post for details on how to enter.)

Now, let’s get this review done & dusted. I’m back with another skincare product review from one of my favourite beauty brands, InstaNatural, who are an
American skincare company that specialise in natural beauty products. Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on their Youth Express Night Cream which retails
at around £ in the UK and $ in the USA. I’ve had this cream lying around for ages and thought I’d give it a good trial before I posted my review on it. So, here goes…

WHAT IS IT:

A rich night cream that works as an anti-aging product. It works by hydrating & plumping the skin to keep it soft & supple. The key ingredients are Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) which can help reduce redness and imflammination as well as diminish the appearance of acne, scars and hyperpigmentation. Matrixyl 3000, Vitamin C which promotes healthy skin by reducing damage from external factors such as sun exposure. Rosehip Oil which is great for combatting wrinkles and fine lines. The night cream also contains Organic Aloe Vera, Argan Oil, Safflower Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Avacado Oil and Evening Primrose Oil.

13912872_10209883520989007_6516695177450204918_n

HOW TO USE:

Cleanse and tone the skin just before bedtime and put a small amount of cream to the fingertips and apply to your face and neck in a circular, upward motion. Leave to dry completely, in my experience this takes a good 10 minutes or so to fully absorb the cream. Although this is a night
cream it can and is best use morning and night for best results.

WHAT I LIKE:

I’ve been using the cream for three weeks now, once daily before bedtime. The cream is a thick, luxurious white lotion which spreads easily across the skin, completely hydrating and moisturising it. Although I hate waiting around for it to absorb fully, I am pleased with the results so far and I have noticed that my skin does look more youthful than before I started using it. It’s hard to explain but I have both dull grey areas on my face as well as the
odd bit of redness so finding a cream that brightens up your complexion as well as reducing redness is great! Not to mention how well it moisturises any dry patches. Once fully absorbed and I have catched up on my beauty sleep – I wake up to soft and supple skin as the cream works its magic through the night by hydrating and plumping the skin. I love the fact that all the ingredients in the cream are completely natural and plant derived. The cream seriously is packed to the brim with goodness. Obviously, it’s great that InstaNatural have not tested the cream on animals and another plus is that the bottle is eco-friendly and can be recycled.

13906897_10209883527429168_590462267874117106_n13912721_10209883527509170_360605380378937144_n

WHAT I DONT LIKE:

My least favourite thing about the cream is how long it takes to absorb into the skin, I hate creams that don’t dry quickly and I’ve waited about 10 minutes each time for it to dry so it didn’t rub off on my expensive pillowcases. Also, the cream does not feel lightweight on the skin and instead feels kinda heavy on my face if that makes sense, like my skin can’t breathe. So if you’re after a lightweight night cream, this one isn’t for you as it’s rich, thick and feels like a barrier over the skin.

WORTH THE MONEY:

I do like the cream and it does work but I prefer a lightweight, fast absorbing cream so I doubt I’ll repurchase it. I think there are better creams out there to suit my skin type and for much less too but the ingredients in this cream are all natural and good and natural products are always a little more expensive than chemical laden products, so I suppose you get what you pay for, good ingredients and no harsh chemicals.

With Love…

Katie

Foamy Banana Sweet Treats Bath Cream by Imperial Leather

Hey girls,

Long time no see hey, well… today I have a short and sweet little review for you all. I have been using one of Imperial Leather’s Sweet Treats Bath Cream in Foamy Banana and I’m loving the idea of there sweet Treats Bath Creams which are named after and smell like real sweets.

The Foamy Banana Bath Cream is just a dream. It is a thick pale yellow gel like cream that lathers really well and feels fabulous on the skin leaving it feeling cleansed, soft and scented. It even produces a good amount of bubbles when used as a bubble bath. It smells AMAZING! Exactly like the foam banana sweets, such a sweet, fabulous scent. I use mine as a bubble bath, a shower gel and a body wash and it really is a lush treat for your skin. Not only does it smell good but it leaves skin feeling soft and smooth too.

18555887_10212649394494116_1658239343445678962_n

I can’t wait to try the other ‘flavours’ out, the Sherbert Lemon and Marshmellow bath cream are already on my shopping list. The bath creams retail at around £1 and a big 500ml bottle will last a while so they are definately bargains. I picked mine up in Boots but they are available in Asda, Home Bargains and Superdrug too.

Strawberry, Rose, Mango & Lavender Fizzing Bath Bombs from Home Bargains

Hey ladies,

I love nothing more than soaking in a gorgeous fizzing bath – I love myself a good bath bomb so I was excited to try these little bargain bath bombs after spotting them at the back of the shelf in saver store, Home Bargains. They were about 79p each and there are four different scents available, they are: Rose, Strawberry, Mango and Lavender. I have bought them in the past so these were a second time buy for me so I thought I’d fill you lot in on them.

16865014_10211855689731993_295461428036713778_n

I really love the packaging of the bath bombs, they look much more expensive than what they are and I think they look very pretty, pretty enough to be put into a little box and given as a gift to someone maybe.

16865221_10211855696172154_6512230368410066680_n16996405_10211855701412285_8751353747594958181_n16998796_10211855707732443_1792669504402501689_n17021519_10211855692972074_3057141724882917424_n

The ingredients list is printed on the packaging and the bath bombs each have their own mild yet fabulous scent and they smell lovely when they’re fizzing away under the warm running water, I love watching them fizz! The only negative thing I have to say about the bombs is the fact I did find the fragrance soon disappeared once it had stopped fizzing in the water and the scent of them never lingered as long as I hoped it would although my skin was left silky soft afterwards and my sensitive skin did not feel irritated.

My two favourites were the Strawberry bath bomb and the Mango bath bomb. Overall, I liked them. They are great little bargain and at 79p each you can’t complain, hey.

Much Love,

Review: Sanex Dermo Sensitive Roll On Deodorant

Hey Chicks.

Another deodorant review for you all, if you have read my other posts you will know that I am a roll-on deodorant kinda girl. Aerosols always give me a banging headache and are not as gentle on my sensitive skin and deodorant sticks often leave me with sticky pits so I always opt for roll-ons instead.

15578958_10211160788879906_7163141262029627031_n

The roll-on I’ve been using for the past month is by Sanex and it is their ‘Dermo Sensitive‘ roll-on. The packaging is uniquely different to others out there. The roll on is at the bottom instead of the top so no need to stand it upside down when the bottle is nearing empty as its already upside down. The label is simple and the packaging can be recycled although there is no cruelty free bunny on the label.

15622022_10211160782439745_3380647356030361408_n

It has a lovely mild scent, quite floral and subtle and I really like how it smells, it doesn’t smell artificial at all and it doesn’t give me a migraine after using it. It absorbs into the skin quickly and leaves my delicate skin feeling soft and moisturised. It contains zero alcohol so it doesn’t irritate or dry out the skin.  I don’t think it gives 24-hr protection as it says on the bottle and I don’t think it would keep odour or sweat at bay when exercising but it did keep me dry and stink free for a few hours although I do need to reapply it regularly throughout the day.

15542217_10211160794840055_6795330204311271784_n

I would use it again, I just wish it gave me longer protection from sweat patches and odour without the need to reapply it. It is a cheap deodorant, small enough to pop into your handbag and it is gentle enough for sensitive skin but if you are a major sweater – I’d look for a deodorant that offers more protection.

So, the hunt for the perfect deodorant continues…

Crabtree & Evelyn – Somerset Meadow Ultra Nourishing Hand Therapy

Hey girls,

Today I’ll be reviewing a luxurious hand cream ‘Somerset Meadow’ from Crabtree & Evelyn’s ultra nourishing hand therapy collection. I have the 25g tube which costs around £6. There are 50g and 100g tubes available too.

15338854_10211075295462624_6827714501382901155_n

The cream comes in a squeeze tube and the colour of it is lovely; it is a gorgeous shade of vibrant green which is very pretty and eye-catching. On the back of the tube is the ingredients list which goes on forever.

15442297_10211075307982937_1788619177347686014_n

The scent of the cream is sweet smelling, ‘perfumey’ and floral and I actually love how it smells. It is quite a strong smelling cream although I don’t think it is an overpowering scent even though it does contain artificial parfum, which is an ingredient I usually try to avoid due to fragrance sensitivities and skin irritation.

15380534_10211075306422898_6535281232017434114_n

The cream has a thick, non-drip consistency and it spreads easily and richly over the hands but one thing I didn’t rate was how long it took to dry. It was around 15-20 minutes before the cream began absorbing into my skin and there was a slight greasy feeling for a short while afterwards although once thoroughly absorbed my hands did feel soft, smooth and very nourished and my nails looked shiny and felt much stronger, not to mention my hands smelling absolutely amazing.

Would I buy again?

Yes possibly. Although next time I buy one of the hand creams from Crabtree & Evelyn I think I’d like to try another ‘scent’ from the collection instead. Pink Magnolia sounds amazing as does Caribbean Island.

Take a look at the other scents here.

Tried & Tested: Eve Lom Cleanser (Review)

One of the reasons I love beauty subscription boxes is discovering new brands and products for the first time and falling head over heels in love with them. I fell hard when I got this Cleanser  from Eve Lom in my October Birchbox and for the last couple of weeks, this multi-award winning cleanser balm has been an absolute diamond and it has fast become a favourite of mine. I have been using it twice daily and even though I was sent a small 30ml travel sized pot in my Birchbox, I’m actually surprised at how long this small tub has lasted. So. In two months I’ve used a 30ml tub so I’m guessing a 250ml tub will last around 6+ plus months so you would defo get your moneys worth.

15094488_10210896543993949_4844060373077418361_n15085481_10210896547874046_2712322079604591955_n

How To Use.

Rub a bit of the balm into your face, rinse the muslin cloth under hot water and place over the face to help open pores, wipe away all traces of make-up, dirt and oil and exfoliate and then rinse the cloth again under cold water and wipe over the face. It is a gorgeous smelling balm, quite minty and herbal and it melts as soon as it touches the skin, gliding effortlessly across the face. You can use a muslin cloth to cleanse and exfoliate the skin but I also use some cotton wool pads when I’m in a rush.

15135792_10210896568874571_8367419314527225295_n15085522_10210896558154303_9105689146056369106_n

I loved the fact that I seen results after the first use, no kidding! Plus my skin and complexion improved after each use and it has been looking very radiant lately. It has been almost two months and I have seen a huge difference to my skin tone, it looks more even in colour. I did have a bit of hyperpigmentation on my cheeks but the uneven patches are nowhere near as noticeable as beforehand and my skin looks and feels hydrated. This godsend of a cleanser is amazing at moistuising and nourishing the skin and my demon wrinkles and fine lines have also smoothed out so much, my frown line is not as deep-set as it was so hooray! (I hate getting older!)

This is the first product I have ever used from Eve Lom and I’m hooked on the brand already, I’m just gutted that the cleanser is a bit on the expensive side as are the other products. I have never paid more than £20 for a cleanser (my Glycolic Cleanser from InstaNatural). so it is a little out of my budget at £55 for a 50ml tub, £85 for a 200ml tub and £250 for a 450ml tub! Jesus! Mary! Joseph! I’ll have to rob a bank.

15109397_10210896567154528_7986069596398301983_n

Would I buy again?

I don’t usually spend that much on a cleanser but hell yeah, I’ll be buying it again! I’d be a fool not to. You can get some here if you’d like to try it out yourselves. I’m pretty certain you guys will LOVE it! This is definitely a cleanser I’d recommend for all skin types and skin concerns and I would use this all year round for sure – rain, snow, wind, sun, it really is a multi purpose cleanser.

Has any of you used any other products from Eve Lom before? What’s your fave one?

Love Ya,

Kate x

Korean Beauty: Rich Hand V Special Care Hand Mask – The Face Shop (Review)

I love Autumn & Winter…

but the one thing I don’t like is how dry and rough my hands get when the cold weather comes around. My psoriasis has unfortunately flared up on my hands at the moment, like it always does at this time of year, so I needed to give my poor hands some TLC as they have been looking aged & dry of late.

The hand mask I used was the ‘Rich Hand V Special Care Hand Mask’ made with love by a  Korean beauty brand called ‘The Face Shop’. I got mine from Bits & Bobs of Beauty UK, which is an online beauty shop specialising in Korean beauty products & accessories.

15027809_10210825446056545_1066389327717223171_n

15032259_10210825447856590_1995599818728098186_n

The gloves were easy to use. I just washed & dried my hands. Split the gloves along the perforated lines and put the gloves on, massaging my hands together to help the lotion spread and absorb better. After 20 minutes I removed the gloves and let the left over residue dry & absorb into my skin.

15107384_10210825448736612_5594515231868846998_n15036309_10210825451656685_586009535383896808_n15094997_10210825563619484_1569638613543820783_n15095561_10210825566699561_6231795677850457116_n15073451_10210825564699511_2630793479221662819_n

The gloves came in a foil sachet and the packaging looks pretty good, no complaints. There are both Korean & English writing on the back of the sachet which was great as I have found most Korean products do not have English directions. The gloves themselves are a white plastic type of material and inside is a pleasant smelling lotion which deeply nourishes the nails and the skin on your hands.

15036709_10210825568659610_4296562373489362886_n14639695_10210825567419579_7368525965742593772_n

Whilst the gloves were on my hands felt slippy and wet although it wasn’t an unpleasant feeling, they actually felt soothed. After leaving the left over residue to absorb into my skin my hands felt really smooth and silky and my red psoriasis patches were much lighter in appearance. The ingredients list contains some questionable ingredients and I did think the gloves would irritate my skin but my skin looked and felt much better than beforehand. I will definitely be using hand masks more often, I love how soft my hands feel and they have certainly worked better than I thought they would!

Where To Buy?

I got mine in a B.B Mask Bag on the Bits & Bobs of Beauty website. You can get some here from The Face Shop if you live in the US of A. 🙂

Lots of love on this cold & rainy day…

Sunday Pamper Sesh! – Passion Peel-Off Face Mask from 7th Heaven (Review)

It’s Sunday! Which means one thing:

PAMPER SESH! 💅🏻

I friggin’ love Sunday’s! I  park my bum on the couch and stay in all day like a hermit  watching Disney films and chick flicks… I take a nice long bubble bath whilst my roast dinner is cooking, YUM! I paint my nails, get the magic Nair out, do all my tan and shape my brows and I can’t forget a good old face mask of course!

Some of you may know already how much I love 7th Heaven face masks, they are vegan, Peta approved, cheap as chips, contain natural ingredients and they actually work!  I have been using them since I was a spotty teenager and I reckon I’ll still be face masking it when I’m 90 years old!

I’ve bought quite a few 7th Heaven face masks in my lifetime but I don’t think I have ever tried the Passion Peel-Off mask – so I thought I’d give it a go today.

14732215_10210525054906954_596388177763599262_n.jpg

7th Heaven say:

‘Pulped Pomegranate, Passion Flower, Raspberry Grape, Cranberry and vitamin E contain antioxidants that help protect skin, while pores and dead cells get a deep clean from our peel-off mask!’

14666074_10210525034106434_9120595379053447893_n

The Passion Peel-Off mask comes in a 10ml sachet like most of the masks from 7th Heaven, which I think is perfect for travelling and especially if you’re like me and like trying new products out. The mask itself is a rose-pink colour and it smells so sweet, almost like strawberry or raspberry jelly. It smells delish! It is also very sticky but after 20-25 minutes, the stickiness disappears and your left with a super shiny face. It looked good, my wrinkles disappeared for a while ha. It didn’t look lilac coloured like the models on the sachet is – instead it was quite clear and looked a little pinky. Also I usually get two applications from one sachet of 7th Heaven masks but this one only provides one.

Now if you read my post a couple of days ago you will understand why at first I was a bit apprehensive about using another peel-off mask as I had an awful time with the Black Peel Off Mask from Beauty Infinitive. I was worried that this would hurt too when I started peeling it off but I was relieved that it never; it actually felt pleasurable and satisfying, ha. I began peeling at my jaw line and had no problem whatsoever at removing the mask. Afterwards my skin looked so much brighter and the mask had peeled away all of my dead skin cell build-up on my face which made my complexion appear dull. I love how soft my skin feels too.  I like this mask, it is not my favourite one from the 7th Heaven face mask range but I will use/buy it again especially when my complexion needs a kick up the bum.

Where to buy?

I got mine from Sainsbury’s for super cheap, 79p a sachet but you can seriously get them everywhere. Amazon, Superdrug, Boots, Asda, Home Bargains… The list is endless!

What 7th Heaven face mask should I try next?

Review: Deep Cleansing Black Mask (Blackhead Removing Peel-Off Mask) – Infinitive Beauty

Hey girls,

I have been using a new blackhead removing peel off mask for about two months now. It is the Deep Cleansing Black Mask from a small company called Infinitive Beauty and it costs £9.99 for a 50g tube.

fghjk.png

The black mask comes in a basic black 50g tube with a flip lid and it has a pink sticker with the Infinitive Beauty logo on the front as well as another sticker on the back with directions on how to use plus the ingredients list. The appearance of the tube itself is nothing special really but never judge a book by its cover, hey.

Infinitive Beauty say: ‘Restore a youthful glow with this powerful, deep pore, peel-off cleansing mask that purifies skin by removing dull surface cells, blackheads and impurities.’

Results/Thoughts:

After spreading the entire ‘black goo’ all over my face I could smell a very mild tar like smell although it didn’t smell badly. It had a sticky and runny consistency so I had to be extra quick when applying and spreading it over my face to avoid any of the mask dripping off and onto my clothes and surroundings. After about 5 minutes of the mask being on my face I could feel a tightening sensation in some areas on my skin, so I found it dries at different times, in different areas of your face. Ten minutes in and the whole mask had dried and it had a shiny black appearance, my skin felt super tight too. It is recommended that you keep the mask on until it had dried all over so I began to peel it off my face and I started at the bottom of my face near my jaw line, pulling outwards towards the centre of my face. This is when I had a mini panic attack! It was so PAINFUL! It seriously felt like I was being tortured. Ha! Like most girls, boys humans… I have tiny, little micro hairs all over my face and as I was peeling the mask of slowly, I was peeling off all the tiny hairs on my face too. This mask literally takes everything off your face, blackheads, whiteheads and (gasp)… hairs! An hour passed and I had peeled as much as possible off my face before I couldn’t stand it anymore as the pain was unbearable, especially around my jawline, upper lip and delicate eye area. My nose was no bother at all, it peeled off pain-free on my nose area. So, because I couldn’t bear the pain I washed the rest off the mask off with some warm soapy water.

untitled.png

untitledhjk

Never again will I use this all over my face!!! It hurt like a bitch, man!!! I would rather have Mike Tyson punch me in the face twenty times than have to go through that pain again. I suppose if your face is completely hairless, like maybe if you use one of those facial hair removing wands or an epilator, you wouldn’t have the same problem as I did.

I have been using the mask on a weekly basis on my nose, ONLY as my nose was the only area it didn’t hurt. After peeling the mask off my nose, all nose junk, sebum and blackheads are visible on the peel after it has been removed. I love it when you can see all the crap that has been removed. The mask really does work at removing impurities and blackheads and I can definitely notice how cleaner and clearer my nose looks. I have been using it on my nose once a week for about two months now as I really think it has helped remove under the skin blackheads that I have tried so hard to get rid of and the more I use it, week by week the clearer the skin on my nose looks.

untitledhbjkol

There is 50g of product in the tube and because I am only using the mask on my nose, I think this one tube will last me a very long time. I would recommend this mask and I would buy it again, although as mentioned above I would not put it all over my face again and instead apply it just on my nose, so if you do buy this black mask, you’ve been pre-warned, ha! For blackheads on your nose, it’s very, very good and I like it a-lot!

Where to buy?

You can get some here from Infinitive Beauty’s storefront on Amazon UK. It is £9.99.

Sunday Pamper Sesh: Argan Oil Mud Mask – 7th Heaven (Review)

Hi girls,

I think I have quite an addiction to face-masks you know. I have purchased so many and although most are still sitting there unopened I still get the urge to buy more. I use a few different brands but I have noticed that I always go back to 7th Heaven face masks, good job they are cheap as chips, hey! So, on my latest shopping spree I picked up a few sachets of 7th Heaven face-masks, ones which I had not yet tried and added them to my ever-growing, face-mask draw. My skin has been a bit on the oily side and I have broken out in a few pimples here and there, they actually hurt. (I’m blaming the cheap ass Halloween make-up I used last week.) Basically, my skin is oily and problematic at the moment so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out the Argan Oil Mud mask from my all-time favourite cruelty free brand 7th Heaven (aka Montagne ) to help soothe and balance out my skin as I look like I have a volcano erupting on my chin right now and it hurts like a bitch!

ag

ag3

The mud mask is recommended for oily – combination skin and it can be used as a weekly, 10-15 minute treat for your face. The mud contains Kaolin Clay as well as Bentonite Clay and also includes Moroccon Argan Oil, antioxdant-rich Acai Berries and an anti-wrinkle favourite of mine, Rosehip Oil.

ag2

14589656_10210525046586746_8634919132988598482_o.jpg

There are lots of other skin loving ingredients in the mud too.

First Impressions

The mud is beige, peachy and pale skin coloured, quite similar in colour to the foundation I wear and it smells sweet and pleasant although I did think it smelled a little artificial. It has a smooth, creamy texture and glides over the skin effortlessly and it felt soothing on my skin once applied. In one 15g sachet there should be enough for two applications, depending how much of the mud you use. Just be sure to seal the sachet up so the mud doesn’t dry out. I fold mine over at the top and use a kirby grip to keep it sealed.

Results:

Five minutes after applying the mud, the beige coloured mud lightened to an off-white, chalky colour and I began to feel the mud drying in some areas with a tightening sensation. After around ten minutes the mud had completely dried white all over.

14939355_10210743690652711_6134754829700631005_o

I left the mask on for around 15-20 minutes and found it washed off easily with warm water and a face cloth. My skin felt super soft and clean afterwards and it looked a lot brighter and less oily. I don’t usually get oily skin but after using cheap Halloween make-up last week my skin has been problematic and greasy and I as mentioned above I broke out in a couple of spots, so this mask has been perfect for balancing my oil levels. My spots don’t feel as irritated and as sore as they did either and my complexion looks better overall. I will definitely use this mask again and I think I will buy the bigger tube next time instead of the sachet.

Where to buy?

I got mine from Sainsbury’s for 79p a sachet although they are pretty much available anywhere. Home Bargains stocks them as does ASDA, Superdrug and you can get the full size 175g tube for £5.99 on Amazon UK right here.

Review: Peach Melba ‘Just Peachy’ Shower Gel | Dolly’s Mixtures

Hey you little beauties,

I was out and about yesterday doing my weekly food shop and whilst I was on my way home I decided to pop into Home Bargains to get some toiletries as they are much cheaper than everywhere else and every penny counts with me, ha. As I walked down the beauty isle I noticed this bottle of Peach Melba ‘Just Peachy’shower gel by Dolly’s Mixtures sitting on the shelf and I initially thought it was some kind of peachy drink at first. It was a good job that I had my specs on because I could have ended up burping bubbles all-night in A&E otherwise. Ha! Never had I heard of ‘Dolly’s Mixtures’ before so like I do with every beauty product I purchase, I did a little research on the brand when I got home and found out Dolly’s Mixtures shower gels are actually quite popular. Erm… where have I been?

jk

First impressions were good, the packaging looks kind of vintagey and pretty, featuring a 1950’s pin-up like lady on the packaging, making me hooked straight away but after flipping up the lid and taking a little whiff, I just had to get my self one. It has a gorgeous, sweet, adorable scent and smells quite strongly of peaches – although it is not an overpowering scent. I have used this as a bubble bath as well as a shower gel and I had a heavenly little bath last night with some tea-lights lit. My bathroom smelled so good! I only needed to add a small amount to the running water to produce a good amount of bubbles. I did think the peachy smell would disappear as soon as it hit the water but it still smelled peachy strong and when applied to my skin with a sponge, it lathered well and even left a peachy smell lingering on my skin for a short while afterwards. I love how inexpensive these shower gels are too and there is quite a bit of gel in the bottle too.

Apparently Dolly’s Mixtures products themselves are not tested on animals so that’s always great to hear but the one thing I disliked about the shower gel was that it had a chemical: ‘Sodium Laureth Sulfate’ listed in the ingredients (click here for more info) and you may know some studies have shown it can be toxic and a skin irritant so I would love these shower gels a whole lot more if they didn’t contain any nasty SLS ingredients. I have very sensitive skin and psoriasis so sometimes my skin reacts to certain chemicals in beauty products but I haven’t noticed any irritation to my skin since I have used this, so all good baby.

Where to buy?

Mine was 79p from Home Bargains but I believe ASDA are the main stockists. I so can’t wait for my next ASDA trip to check out the other ‘flavours’ as Home Bargains only had ‘Peach Melba’ in stock. ‘Bubble-gum’ and ‘Pina Colada’ are next on my wish list!

Have any of you used Dolly’s Mixtures shower gels? What is your favourite one?

Love

p.s: I think these would also make great little cheap gifts. I will defo be getting a few of these and adding some pretty little sponges and tea-lights wrapped in some cellophane and a pretty bow to give as gifts this Christmas.

Fragrance Free & Hypoallergenic | Body Deodorant Roll On from Crystal – Review

Hey, hey..

So, another deodorant review today as I’m still on the hunt for one that doesn’t kick off my parfum allergies as well as finding one that is long lasting, gentle on my sensitive skin and keeps my sweaty pits stink-free.

What I’ve been using?

Two weeks ago I started using the hypoallergenic and fragrance free Body Deodorant Roll On from Crystal and I have mixed feelings about it to be honest, I came across the deodorant on Amazon UK and I was expecting nothing but good results from it. I had the impression that it was the perfect deodorant for those with sensitive skin, skin disorders and fragrance allergies.

What Crystal say:

Crystal is the world’s leading natural mineral salt deodorant for a reason. It works to prevent odour while other products attempt to mask it or plug pores with aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum zirconium. Crystal is safe, healthy and totally effective. That’s why millions around the world use it every day. What makes our award-winning products so special? Unlike most products, Crystal prevents odour before it starts by creating a layer of odour-killing barrier that lasts all day. Our best-selling product, this Crystal-infused unscented Body Deodorant Roll-On goes on lightly, unlike most roll-ons sold today. It’s smooth rolling ball feels great going on, while the power of 100% natural mineral salts naturally eliminate odours all day long’.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Potassium Alum, Cellulose, Sodium Bicarbonate, Benzoic Acid, Zinc Gluconate.

What I liked?

I liked how it was fragrance free so it didn’t cause me any migraines like most other deodorants do. It really doesn’t smell of anything at all and unlike other deodorants, it contains a very small list of ingredients. It didn’t sting or irritate my sensitive skin and it didn’t leave a sticky, wet residue after applying it. The packaging is attractive and I love the purple colour of the lid and the fact it is a unisex deodorant.

What I didn’t like?

Sadly, this deodorant didn’t keep my pits dry and I had sweat patches within half an hour of applying, which was pretty embarrassing. I do sweat easily but I even found I had sweat patches when just sitting down watching TV.

Also, it didn’t keep the B.O at bay! Within an hour of applying the roll on to my armpits, shortly after the sweat patches appeared came the pong. I shower twice daily, morning and evening but whilst I was trialling this I lost count of how many showers I took and I certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable enough to go about my day or exercising whilst wearing this as I really don’t trust that it will keep me smelling fresh. You girls ever took a shower and forgotten to apply deodorant. Well, basically I felt like I had no deodorant on at all.

I definitely won’t be buying it again and the two I bought will not be getting used anytime soon but I do really like the idea of fragrance free deodorants so I will definitely try some of the other deodorants by Chrystal, they have quite a few different ones so maybe next time I’ll get a spray instead and read a couple of reviews before I purchase another.

Where to buy?

If you still want Crystal’s fragrance free body deodorant in your life regardless of my review you can get it here from Amazon UK. It’s £7.19 for two 50ml bottles.

I bought mine for £2.99 each on Amazon Pantry right here which is a pantry and grocery store which is available to Prime members only.

If you gorgeous girls have any recommendations of some fragrance free deodorants that actually work, I would love to hear about them!

Vaseline® Active Fresh Anti-Perspirant Deodorant With ProDerma – Review

Girlies,

I’ve got another deodorant review for you today. Because I have fragrance sensitivities I am always on the hunt for a deodrant that I like which doesn’t cause me violent headaches so I often prefer roll-on deodarants over aerosols because they are less likely to cause migraines. I thought I would give the Vaseline Active Fresh deodorant a try as it is alcohol free which means it is anti sting and not likely to irritate my sensitive skin. I’ve used tons of products from Vaseline in the past and I have never had a problem with any of their stuff so I thought I’d give this a whirl.

What is it?

It is a 150ml aerosol deodorant manufactured by Vaseline with a ProDerma complex which helps to protect the underarm skin which is very delicate. It is also suitable for sensitive skin and has been dermatologically tested as well as being alcohol free so it doesn’t sting and it doesn’t dry the skin on your armpits. Vaseline also say it is long lasting and it will give 48hours protection.

mmm

Vaseline say:

While sweating is a natural reaction to a rise in temperature it can often result in sweat marks, odour, and even discolouration of your clothes. In order to manage your body’s response, we have designed the Vaseline® Active Fresh Anti-Perspirant with ProDerma™ technology, a unique blend of skin-caring ingredients, which mimics the skin’s own protective layer and make it less prone to irritation. It keeps you dry all day and cares for your underarm resulting in healthy looking protected skin.

First impressions:

Just a simple 150ml aerosol bottle with the typical Vaseline packaging. Bottle looks fresh and modern but nothing special. I did notice that it doesn’t have the cruelty free bunny on the back of the bottle but the packaging can be recycled.

Why did I like it?

I liked it because it is alcohol free so it didn’t sting after applying like most deodorants do. It has a nice, fresh, mild scent that isn’t too overpowering and because I’m sensitive to most artificial fragrances and chemicals (the reason I prefer ‘natural’ toiletries) I often get migraines after using most deodorants, I’m happy to say that the scent didn’t cause me any major headaches. I did feel a little brain fog after using it but it didn’t last very long. My underarms also felt amazingly soft and protected too and it I’m happy to say that it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. It did what it said on the tin and I found it to be long lasting and my pits smelt nice and fresh the next day after using it. The fresh scent lingered on the skin too and I could still smell it the next day.

What I didn’t like?

Nothing really, except that Unilever is the manufacture of Vaseline products and I’m sure that the company tests on animals so I would feel a million times better if this deodorant had the leaping cruelty free bunny on the bottle but unfortunately it hasn’t. So if you are strongly against testing on animals I would look elsewhere as I’m guessing this is not cruelty free.

Will I use again?

Yes, I liked it; it worked at keeping my armpits dry and kept body odour at bay for well over 48 hours without causing a full blown migraine or irritating my underarm skin. It smells very nice too and I love how soft my armpits feel after using it so I probably would buy it again, yes.

Where to buy?

You can get this deodarant almost aywhere, for example: Boots, Superdrug, Asda etc… Amazon UK sell it too!

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tin – Review

Ladies, gents…

Chapped lips are a pain in the arse aren’t they? My lips are ALWAYS chapped and it’s so annoying, especially when they begin to peel, which hurts like hell and they look so sore and unattractive. I have tried numerous lip balms, butters and lip scrubs over the years and nothing has worked for me in the long run, my chapped lips always come back so I needed something that would seriously sort my lips out. After one of my lovely followers recommended I try the Beeswax Lip Balm from Burt’s Bees – I went ahead and bought myself the 8.5g tin version of the Beeswax Lip Balm tube as it looked super cute and I just loved the little tin.

What is it?

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is a natural lip conditioner that has been soothing dry, lips since 1991. Beeswax and antioxidant Vitamin E condition skin, for a soothing lip treatment. A final hint of peppermint oil provides a refreshing tingle. The result is a smooth, supple smile everyone will be buzzing about. This lip balm tin fits in your purse or pocket for dry lip therapy anytime, anyplace. Spread on a little TLC with Burt’s Bees moisturising lip balm.

Ingredients

cera alba (beeswax, cire d’abeille), cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, lanolin, tocopherol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil, canola oil (huile de colza), limonene

Thoughts

First of all, when I ordered this online, I thought the tin would be quite big but when it arrived I was shocked at how small the tin was. It was tiny! There is a 4.5g tube/stick version of this lip balm which is the same price as the 8.5g tin so you do get more for your money, woo-hoo… plus you get a pretty little tin. It is non-greasy balm which is heat resistant and doesn’t melt, run or slide all over your face throughout the day. It deeply hydrates the lips and it smells minty fresh, leaving a slight tingling on the lips after applying. It also seems to be waterproof too and after drinking and eating the balm stayed put and didn’t slide off like other lip balms do.

mn.png

I disliked how it takes a lot of elbow grease and finger rubbing to get even the tiniest amount of balm on the lips. You need to rub the balm about ten times with your finger to get a fair amount. This annoyed the hell out of me so I ended up using a little lip brush to make things easier and more hygienic plus it kept my fingers clean. It is more hygenic to use a lip brush to avoid contamination to the balm which will make your lips a million time worse so I do recommend using a lip brush for the tin.

jjn

It did heal my chapped lips instantly and I was happy that I could wear my matte lipsticks without my lips looking cracked and flaky. It is probably the best balm I have tried for my lips and it really does work. I no longer have sore, chapped lips after using this so I do recommend it and I would buy it again, definitely.

Where to buy?

I got mine here on Amazon UK for £3.42

What’s your favourite lip balm?
