Review: White Ceramic Unicorn Table Lamp – ASDA / GEORGE Home

Hiya girlies… If you follow me on Instagram you will know that I fell in love with a Unicorn shaped lamp in Asda a few weeks ago!

at the time I never had the money on me to buy it as I only popped in for a pint of milk but I eventually decided to treat myself because I thought the lamp was just beautiful, so I went ahead and bought it online a few days ago.

The lamp made from 100% ceramic which has a white finish and it measures 26cm in height, 11cm width, 17.5cm depth and weighs 2kg.

It requires no assembly and batteries are not needed either. Instead it is a low energy LED table lamp which comes with a G4 LED, long-lasting capsule bulb and is sold with the energy class of A+, A++ and A.

Bulbs can be replaced by peeling back the base pad and opening the compartment at the bottom of the lamp. It also has a 1.8m length cable.

The lamp is £22 which I think is totally worth it. It’s so pretty and is the perfect lamp for us unicorn believers. I do prefer it as a decorative ornament rather than a lamp as I think it looks better unlit but it does create a soothing, soft glow which is not too bright when lit – kind of like a night-light. It is absolutely beautiful and I have it on my desk at the moment to create a fun, decorative, magical atmosphere. I may even buy another and place them in my bedroom on my bedside cabinets – both sides of my bed.

I definitely recommend this lamp – I love mine and I’m so glad I bought it!

Where To Buy:

You can buy the Unicorn lamp HERE for £22 on the George HOME website. Delivery is an extra £2.95 for standard delivery which takes about 2-3 days to arrive and it is £4.50 for next day delivery. You could also purchase it in-store – if it hasn’t sold out.

Asda have recently launched a unicorn-themed homeware collection – absolutely gorgeous, I want everything… take a look at the magic HERE.

Lots Of Love

Review: Peach Melba ‘Just Peachy’ Shower Gel | Dolly’s Mixtures

Hey you little beauties,

I was out and about yesterday doing my weekly food shop and whilst I was on my way home I decided to pop into Home Bargains to get some toiletries as they are much cheaper than everywhere else and every penny counts with me, ha. As I walked down the beauty isle I noticed this bottle of Peach Melba ‘Just Peachy’shower gel by Dolly’s Mixtures sitting on the shelf and I initially thought it was some kind of peachy drink at first. It was a good job that I had my specs on because I could have ended up burping bubbles all-night in A&E otherwise. Ha! Never had I heard of ‘Dolly’s Mixtures’ before so like I do with every beauty product I purchase, I did a little research on the brand when I got home and found out Dolly’s Mixtures shower gels are actually quite popular. Erm… where have I been?

jk

First impressions were good, the packaging looks kind of vintagey and pretty, featuring a 1950’s pin-up like lady on the packaging, making me hooked straight away but after flipping up the lid and taking a little whiff, I just had to get my self one. It has a gorgeous, sweet, adorable scent and smells quite strongly of peaches – although it is not an overpowering scent. I have used this as a bubble bath as well as a shower gel and I had a heavenly little bath last night with some tea-lights lit. My bathroom smelled so good! I only needed to add a small amount to the running water to produce a good amount of bubbles. I did think the peachy smell would disappear as soon as it hit the water but it still smelled peachy strong and when applied to my skin with a sponge, it lathered well and even left a peachy smell lingering on my skin for a short while afterwards. I love how inexpensive these shower gels are too and there is quite a bit of gel in the bottle too.

Apparently Dolly’s Mixtures products themselves are not tested on animals so that’s always great to hear but the one thing I disliked about the shower gel was that it had a chemical: ‘Sodium Laureth Sulfate’ listed in the ingredients (click here for more info) and you may know some studies have shown it can be toxic and a skin irritant so I would love these shower gels a whole lot more if they didn’t contain any nasty SLS ingredients. I have very sensitive skin and psoriasis so sometimes my skin reacts to certain chemicals in beauty products but I haven’t noticed any irritation to my skin since I have used this, so all good baby.

Where to buy?

Mine was 79p from Home Bargains but I believe ASDA are the main stockists. I so can’t wait for my next ASDA trip to check out the other ‘flavours’ as Home Bargains only had ‘Peach Melba’ in stock. ‘Bubble-gum’ and ‘Pina Colada’ are next on my wish list!

Have any of you used Dolly’s Mixtures shower gels? What is your favourite one?

Love

Katie x

p.s: I think these would also make great little cheap gifts. I will defo be getting a few of these and adding some pretty little sponges and tea-lights wrapped in some cellophane and a pretty bow to give as gifts this Christmas.

Disclosure: I bought this.
