Review: Mr. Blanc Teeth – Bamboo Charcoal Whitening Polish (Mint Flavour)

Hey girls, this is my first review in ages – I’m so happy to be back reviewing and I was kindly sent some teeth whitening products from Mr. Blanc Teeth a few weeks ago to review. One of the products I received was the Bamboo Charcoal Tooth Whitening Polish which retails for £12.99 on their website here.

Mr Blanc Teeth

Mr. Blanc Teeth are based in the UK but they do offer free worldwide shipping.

The Bamboo Charcoal Whitening Polish is a 100% cruelty-free, safe, non-peroxide mint flavoured charcoal polish that targets teeth staining tannins found in tea, coffee, tobacco and wine. The polish is low in abrasion and works b y removing stains from the surface of the teeth without harming enamel and helps control tartar build-up which results in whiter looking polished teeth. It also helps to keep enamel strong and healthy and leaves teeth feeling clean and fresh. The polish is a whitening polish only and you must use a regular toothpaste alongside it. I use the polish before I brush my teeth as normal.  It’s great that brace-wearers can use the polish although it is not recommended for breastfeeding or pregnant mums due to the ingredients.

The polish comes in a black squeezy tube and has a lockable flip lid. It is a 100ml tube. and has all the info you need including ingredients list on the back of the tube. Dr. Blanc Teeth also say the polish is 100% safe for daily use and they recommend using the polish twice a day. I have been using it about 3-5 times a week instead of daily and I have still seen good results. To use you just put a little of the polish onto your toothbrush and brush your teeth like you would with a regular toothpaste. I leave the polish on my teeth for a minute or two for a deeper clean and extra whitening results. The polish will make your teeth look greyish or black because of the activated charcoal but don’t worry, it will not stain your teeth and although it looks a bit mental, it tastes ok – minty and fresh.

Dr Blanc Teeth Charcoal Polish Review

First time I used the polish my teeth looked instantly cleaner and after a few days I noticed they were looking whiter. I love how it prevents tartar and plaque build up by polishing tooth surface so plaque is less likely to stick. I have tried a few polishes in my time but I do think this one is the best I have used so far and I don’t find it abrasive either which is amazing for me as I have sensitive teeth. I’ve also been using it alongside the Pro Whitening Toothpaste – I’ll pop a review up for that in a few days.

Dr. Botanicals – Coconut Oil Rejuvenating Body Exfoliating Bar Review

About two months ago, Dr. Botanicals, a vegan friendly, cruelty-free skincare brand, sent me one of their Coconut Oil Rejuvenating Body Exfoliating Bars to review on my blog. I’ve got quite a few of Dr. Botanicals products which I’ve been sent over the last year or so and they are one of my fave skincare brands. All of their products are vegan friendly and cruelty free and they contain no harsh ingredients that irritate sensitive skin just natural, quality, skin-loving ingredients which are kind to skin (and animals).

‘Hydrate, Cleanse and Gently Exfoliate. Shredded coconut gently exfoliates the skin while coconut oil moisturises the skin and creamy coconut aroma works to unwind your mind.‘ Dr. Botanicals.

First Impressions:

The soap comes in a small, cardboard box which is recyclable and eco-friendly. No plastic in sight. Inside the box is the 100g soap bar, which is square-shaped, beigey-brown in colour and it has a gorgeous, creamy, natural coconut aroma.

The main active ingredient in the soaps formulation is Shell Powder, which contains nutrients like collagen, chondroitin, glucosamine, and hyaluronic acid. It has anti-oxidant activity which protects the skin from free radical damage and also has moisture holding properties which smooth and hydrate the skin. Dr. Botanicals say the soap can be used on the face as well as the body and hands although I haven’t used it on my face, as I’ve had severe breakouts in the past after washing my face with soap, so never again.

Thoughts:

This soap smells AMAZING! I love everything coconut so it’s no surprise that I love this soap, coconut products have done wonders for my skin in the past and I couldn’t recommend them enough for sensitive skin.

Dr. Botanicals say the soap helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells but I don’t find it to be exfoliating at all. Maybe the exfoliation is too gentle for my skin type. It is a super moisturising, hydrating soap though and after using my skin feels clean, smoother and soft. It lathers okay for a natural soap too.

My followers will know that I have psoriasis and I believe this soap has been so gentle and mild on my skin – it hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin and it hasn’t made my psoriasis any worse, which I think is down to the natural ingredients and the fact doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals. It’s also a long-lasting soap as well, I’ve been using mine for over two months now and although it has withered down a little there is still a lot left.

So, I love the soap – but I don’t like the price tag. All of Dr. Botanicals products are a bit on the expensive side, I wish they weren’t as I love their products! I don’t know about you guys but nearly 20 quid for a soap is not something I’d pay to be honest! Don’t get me wrong,  I have no complaints – it’s gentle, vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, natural, moisturising and it doesn’t dry the skin out, but, I wouldn’t repurchase for £20.

Totally out of my soap budget, ha.
