REVIEW: Palmer’s – Cocoa Butter Formula – Foot Magic Scrub

Summer is around the corner girls and it’s sandal season so I have been giving my feet some extra TLC so my feet look pretty and summer-ready. Along with some other ‘foot products’, (which I’ll review later), I’ve been using the Foot Magic Scrub from Palmer’s for about a month to help soothe my feet and moisturise and exfoliate the rough, hard skin on my feet.

The scrub contains natural pumice and exfoliants, no plastic microbeads in sight and it is full of skin-loving ingredients such as Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Peppermint Oil and Shea Butter and it helps to moisturise the skin whilst exfoliating dead skin cells, hard skin and rough areas whilst nourishing and soothing tired, sore feet.

PALMER'S Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic Scrub

The Foot Magic Scrub and it’s easy to use – you just simply massage some of the scrub into your soles in a circular motion and focus on rough patches of skin, particularly the heels, then rinse off.

Palmer's Foot Magic Scrub REVIEW

It really helps, I like it! My heels were dry, rough and a little hard before but since I have started using the scrub they seem to be improving and the soles of me feel much silkier, and softer. I also love how the scrub feels against my skin – it moisturises and soothes tired feet and the sensation feels amazing against my skin, especially on the psoriasis on my soles as it exfoliates dead skin cells and scales. I even take it up a little onto my lower legs and knees and my skin feels so much better afterwards. It smells lovely too!

Palmer’s are against animal testing although there is no cruelty-free bunny on the back of the tube.

Palmers Foot Magic Scrub

I’m at the end of the tube but I will be repurchasing as I like what it has done for my skin. There is also a Foot Magic Cream available to buy from Palmer’s so I will defo be picking a tube of that up as well as the scrub next time I go shopping.

Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money.

Where To Buy:

I got mine from Home Bargains for a bout £1.20 I think but you can also buy it at BOOTS, Superdrug & probably ASDA.

You can take a look at Palmer’s website HERE – they have lots of other fab products too.

How To Remove Make-Up Using Just Water With The WipeOut! Amazing MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth From Magnitone London (Review)

A good few months ago, I was sent the WipeOut! MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth from Magnitone London along with the BlendUp Vibra-Sonic Brush (which I’ll review another time) and it completely slipped my mind to try it out / review it. I accumulate so many beauty and skincare products – I’m literally a hoarder and every once in a while I have to do a little clean out to discard out of date products, empties, products I won’t use and to also make a little more space in my small apartment. These clean-outs are when I find products I forgot I had and I eventually get around to trying them.

Magnitone London - WipeOut! The Amazing MicroFibre Cleansing ClothMagnitone London - WipeOut! The Amazing MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth Review

So, last week I found the WipeOut! MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth in my skincare stash and I thought I’d give it ago as I have been quite lazy with my skincare these last few weeks. I haven’t had a routine at all – instead, I have been using throw-away face wipes, which are okay to use short-term but after using them for like a month straight I started to notice my skin was looking awful because of them. I broke out in blemishes, my skin was dull and dry and basically I looked like shit. In the past I have found that when my skin is bad, keeping all products off my skin helps to balance itself out naturally so I was very intrigued to see how the Wipe Out Cloth would work for my complexion.

The WipeOut! MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth removes tough, long-wear and oil-based makeup with just warm water. It is a super soft, super fluffy face cloth making it perfect for use one sensitive skin, eyes and lips, with no cleansers, gels or products needed. The WipeOut! microfibers swell up when wet, grabbing hold of dirt, oil and makeup and trapping them away so makeup removed properly and is not smeared back onto the skin. The WipeOut! Cleansing Cloth is re-useable 1000 times, it is quick drying making it perfect for travelling and it is also machine washable at 30°C. Each Cloth is 40cm x 17cm, smearproof and double sided.  You can buy one single cloth for £7.99 or you can get two for £15 – they are available in pink and grey too.

Thoughts:

For the last month or so my skin has been really awful – completely my own fault for using face wipes everyday and being lazy by not sticking to my usual skincare routine. I’ve had blemishes appear on my face (chin area), dry patches on my nose and cheeks and my overall complexion has been dull and uneven. I thought I’d swerve the throwaway face wipes and give the WipeOut! Cloth a try to help re-balance my skin and I especially liked how it requires no products just water when cleansing, so my skin would kind of ‘repair’ itself on its own without the use of any products. I have also been using Dr. Botanicals – Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil which is a completely natural oil and my skin does look much better already.

Magnitone London - WipeOut! The Amazing MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth Reviews

I love the cloth – it is so soft and fluffy and it literally does need just water to remove even the toughest of makeup. I just rinse under the hot tap, wring it out and wipe it across my face to cleanse, remove dirt, oil and makeup and prevent spots and blackheads. The warm cloth slightly opens my pores to allow deep cleansing which helps to remove blackheads too. I’d recommend splashing your face with cold water after using to close your pores. What’s great about the WipeOut! Cloth is the microfibers hold onto particles which stop them from being spread over the face. Since using the cloth (and oil) my skin is finally starting to look human again and it is looking clearer and feeling softer. I also have a little sheen to my skin and it looks so much brighter. After using I just wash with a little bit of soap, rinse and hang it up to dry, ready to use again. The cloth is also eco-friendly as it’s reusable/washable so no more wipes in landfill which means it’s much better for our environment. I haven’t washed it in the machine yet but it can be washed at 30°c. So yeah, I’m totally happy with this product and I will defo use it again and again.

Disclosure: I was given this product for free.

Review: Dr. Botanicals – Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil | Vegan Friendly & Cruelty-Free Skincare

Dr. Botanicals, a vegan friendly skincare brand, sent me some of their Moroccon Rose Superfood Facial Oil to try out and review on my blog. The oil is completely natural, vegan friendly and cruelty-free and it is infused with plant extracts, antioxidants, vitamins, essential oils and botanical extracts to help brighten dull skin, protect it, renew and even out skin tone. It also contains high levels of Vitamins A and C which rejuvenate the skin and helps to reduce visible signs of ageing.

DR BOTANICALS - MOROCCAN ROSE SUPERFOOD FACIAL OIL REVIEW

The main active ingredients in the formulation are:

Vitamin Chelps to stimulate collagen production, for younger-looking skin.
Vitamin A – a powerful antioxidant with aims to rejuvenate skin, even skin tone and reduce the signs of ageing; while protecting from free radicals.
Almond Oil – deeply moisturises and nourishes skin, whilst brightening the complexion for brighter fresh looking skin.

First Impressions:

The Moroccan Facial Oil comes in a eco-friendly, recyclable cardboard box – the packaging is nothing special but it is good for our environment. It lists the full ingredients in super tiny writing on the bottom of the box – which I can’t read even with my glasses on. It has the cruelty-free bunny printed on the box too. Inside is the Facial Oil which comes in a 15ml glass bottle with a simple label and a black screw-off dropper lid. The oil itself is clear and transparent with a slight rose-pink tint to it. Very pretty! It has a watery consistency and smells really nice too, kinda like a mild, subtle perfume, although it is not overpowering at all.  The oil has been recommended for dry skin especially but all skin types can use it even oily.

DR BOTANICALS MOROCCON FACIAL OILDR BOTANICALS MOROCCAN ROSE SUPERFOOD FACIAL OIL REVIEW

Thoughts:

I’ve been using it for a whole week so far and I’ve stopped using other products, just so I can see how it works my skin. My skin has been looking awful lately and I put it down to being lazy. I have been using throw away face wipes the last month or so instead of cleansing properly and although they come in handy every now and again, I don’t recommend using them as an everyday thing as I have found I break out and my skin gets really dry an dull-looking when I do.

This week I’ve ditched the wipes and I’ve been washing my face twice a day with the Wipe Out MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth from Magnitone London, which just requires water, no cleansers, gels, etc… and I’ve then been applying the oil every morning and every night. I use about 3-4 drops for my entire face and neck and in one week I’ve used just under 1/4 of the bottle, so I’m guessing the 15ml bottle will last me roughly over a month, maybe longer.

The Moroccan Facial Oil doesn’t behave like your average oil and it is kind of a dry oil although Dr.Botanicals haven’t said this. It doesn’t feel oily/greasy on the skin and it doesn’t leave a sticky residue either. It is super absorbent and I love how it dries into the skin within seconds, so no need to wait around for it to dry – one of my pet hates with facial oils.

Since using the facial oil, my dry patches and blemishes are starting to disappear and my skin doesn’t feel as tight, dry or look as dull as before – it has definitely brightened my complexion. I think with longer use my skin tone will look more even so I’m looking forward to that as uneven skin tone is something I’ve struggled with since day one. Ditching the face wipes, cleansing with a microfiber cloth and using this pure goodness oil on my skin has definitely improved its appearance and done it the world of good. I’ll update this post in a few weeks when I have give it more use.

I love Dr. Botanicals and I have their Tropical Invigorating Cream also which I love. The brand has definitely become a favourite of mine – I have been trying to use more cruelty-free brands the last few years and I prefer natural, gentle skincare products which are free-from nasty chemicals and that is what Dr. Botanicals is all about. They use top quality, natural ingredients in all of their products which are gentle on skin yet effective and they are completely cruelty-free, vegan friendly and free from animal by-products – animals should not have to suffer for our vanity and I think one day, hopefully, testing cosmetics on animals will be illegal and rightly so!

Dr Botanicals products are a bit on the expensive side but like I’ve said before, you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to skincare. Most of their products are a little out of my budget but I will definitely shop their products again – I’ll treat myself, hey and I’ll keep checking the website for sales and deals to grab myself a bargain!

Review: N.O.P Cosmetics – Happy Feet Soft Touch Foot Peel Mask For Hard Skin & Dry, Cracked Heels

Exactly two weeks and one day ago I used one of the Happy Feet Soft Touch Foot Peel Masks for the first time from a company from Amazon UK called N.O.P Cosmetics. I get hard skin on the heels of my feet and I absolutely hate how dry and ugly they look and how rough and rubbery they feel – my boyfriend thinks he is hilarious and likes to call me ‘leather feet’ which I don’t find one bit funny at all! HA! I was so happy when I was asked to review the Foot Peeling Masks on my blog and I put them on as soon as they arrived because I was excited and interested to see if they would really work and help to make my feet feel soft and smooth again and remove the hard skin from my heels.

foot peel maskss

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The Happy Feet Soft Touch Foot Peeling Mask is a foot mask rich in Pomegranate Oil and helps to moisturise by softening hard skin and healing and soothing dry, cracked heels. N.O.P claim the foot masks are 100% natural and organic skincare products but the ingredients list is jibberish so I don’t know about that for sure. The masks come in a little box and the packaging is lovely although there are a few grammar mistakes printed on the box – not something you’d expect to see from a product that costs £20. For example they have listed TWELVE as an ingredient??? I’m pretty sure there are no ingredients named twelve… ha ha. Anyway, moving on… there are two foot peeling masks included in the box and they both come in their own silver foil pouches which help to keep the moisture in so they stay fresh. The masks themselves look like huge plastic white socks and there are four ‘socks’ altogether so enough for two applications – the inside of the ‘socks’ have like a gel lotion and they also have a nice, fresh and fruity scent which I really like.

INGREDIENTS: Water, Glycerin, Sodium Lactate, TWELVE?, Trehalose,  Pomegranate Seed Oil, Golden Chamomile, Witch Hazel, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Collagen, Triathanolamine, Matchyl Isobutyl Katona, Iodine, Butyl Alcohol, Butyl Carbamate, Allantoin, Essence, Licorice, Permeation Sodium Hyaluronate and Botanical Extracts.

HOW TO USE: The foot mask is very easy to use – I just teared open one of the sachets and took the pair of plastic socks out. They were attached together so I took a pair of scissors and cut down the middle so I had two individual socks. After making sure my feet were clean and dry I went ahead and put the socks over my feet. There is a sticky tab at the top of each sock to help keep them secure but I just tied a hair bobble around my ankles to make them feel even more secure. I did try to walk in them which was a big mistake, the socks started to slip off my feet and I was slipping everywhere so if you do buy these try not to walk whilst wearing them because you might fall and hurt yourself – wear a normal pair of socks over the masks to prevent this. I kept the socks on for 90 minutes as recommended  – I wore mine whilst chilling watching Netflix and I forgot I even had them on.

22788715_1790355107923837_7501245436920391455_n

VERDICT: After the recommended time was up I took off the socks and washed the leftover residue off my feet and made sure they were dry. I was impressed with the results and my skin felt really soft and smoother. The masks didn’t get rid of my hard skin completely but it did a great job at softening them and they didn’t feel as leathery as they did before so I was chuffed about that and thought I was onto a winner. The masks didn’t irritate my psoriasis either. Apparently, after two weeks of using the foot mask you should start to see your skin peeling and shredding old skin which will allow new, softer skin to grow instead. I was a little bit disappointed at this. I waited two whole weeks for my skin to start peeling and felt let down when it didn’t. I have a few odd patches where it looks like it may be about to peel but nothing like I was expecting – I thought that every bit of skin on my soles would peel but it never happened, not even a little bit. I think I’ll put the other foot mask on tomorrow and wait another two weeks once again so I will update this post with the results. I hope to see some peeling second time round!

THOUGHTS: I like the Soft Touch Foot Mask, it’s softened the hard skin on my heels and the skin on my feet feels smoother even after two weeks of using it but I’m still disappointed because my skin didn’t peel like it was supposed to – after all it does say it is a ‘foot peel mask’ so that is what I was expecting. I do think it is overpriced a little bit too – especially as it hasn’t done what it is supposed to do – yet and like I mentioned above the grammar mistakes on the box – I know this doesn’t affect the product itself but still. So, it really does help to soften the skin but I reckon you could achieve the same results using less expensive products such as a natural pomegranate oil, a castor oil or maybe a good quality exfoliating scrub like this Arabica Coffee Scrub from Art Naturals which I have reviewed HERE if you want to have a read.

DISCLOSURE: This product was gifted to me for review purposes.

WHERE TO BUY: You can buy the Happy Feet Soft Touch Foot Peel Mask HERE for £10.99. When I was first sent this product it was priced at £19.99 and I’ve just noticed that the price has been reduced.

Review: Pure Potions – Skin Salvation Bath & Body Emollient Oil For Psoriasis, Eczema & Dermatitis

About two weeks ago now – I received a bundle of skincare goodies to try out on my sensitive skin and psoriasis and review them on my blog. The company who kindly gifted me the products are an amazing, award-winning, natural skincare brand called Pure Potions – all of their skincare products are cruelty-free, natural and free from harsh chemicals such as parabens, perfumes and synthetic ingredients. They are based in the UK but they do ship worldwide. I was also sent the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil which I have already reviewed here as well as their Scalp Oil for my scalp psoriasis – which I’ve yet to review.

22046537_1780392432253438_3361349410382190467_n

What Is The Bath & Body Emollient:

The Bath & Body Emollient Oil is an all-purpose, 100% natural moisturing oil suitable for all skin types and formulated to replenish moisture lost by bathing or showering. Added to bath water or smoothed on after bathing, this rich, nourishing oil reduces the drying effects of water by locking in moisture and can replace the need for potentially-irritating foaming and perfumed body washes or soap. Made from organic hemp, olive, calendula and safflower oils with chamomile and lavender essential oils. The Skin Salvation collection has also won the Best Eczema Range at the 2017 Natural Health International Beauty Awards so this proves how amazing the oil is.

First Impressions:

The Bath & Body Emollient Oil comes in a 200 ml, dark green plastic bottle. It has a white lockable flip-lid an there is a lot of info printed on the back of the bottle, such as ingredients, directions for use, benefits, etc… The packaging looks very fresh and attractive and has a ‘natural’ look. It has a very natural, herbal scent and before I even looked at the ingredients list I noticed that it had a strong cannabis / marijuana scent – after looking at the ingredients list – it does in fact contain cannabis sativa (hemp) seed oil, I can also smell the lavender essential oil too. The Bath & Body Emollient Oil has a shelf life of 6 months (natural products have a shorter shelf life than products with artificial ingredients) and the bottle is recyclable.

22195936_1784148725211142_4302305012958474343_n22308542_1784148708544477_4803970671444678832_n22195456_1784141828545165_1577218276912109996_n

How To Use The Bath & Body Emollient Oil:

This multi-purposes oil can be added to bath water and applied to damp or dry skin as a moisturising oil, it can also be used as a facial cleanser, a massage oil and a shaving oil.

My Thoughts On The Bath & Body Emollient Oil:

I mainly use my oil in the bath, it says on the bottle to add one or two tablespoons of the oil to a warm bath but I just put about three squirts into my bath straight from the bottle. Whilst bathing in the oil I can feel the oil working it’s magic and my skin instantly looks and feels smoother. When I get out of the tub I can see how well it has worked on my psoriasis because my silver scales have ‘melted’ and my red patches are much lighter in colour.

I’ve also applied the oil after bathing on my damp skin and onto dry skin as a moisturiser. The oil doesn’t feel sticky or greasy and I was surprised at how quickly the oil absorbed into my skin. I rarely take showers, as I prefer soaking in the bath tub but when I do, I apply a little of the oil to my palms and rub my whole body with my hands to make my skin feel soft and smooth and it adds moisture to my dry skin and soothes my irritated, itchy skin.

I’ve only really used the oil as a facial cleanser once or twice as I prefer to use my Omega Rich Cleansing Oil instead but it can and does work as a cleanser for the face. I applied a little bit of oil to my face, massaged it in leaving the oil to soak into my face then washed it off with a damp wash cloth. My skin was left looking clean and feeling soft and it made my complexion radiant and glowing.

After two weeks of bathing in the oil three times a week my psoriasis looks a million times better and I love how pink my patches look instead of bright red. I really wish I took before and after pictures to show you guys what I mean. So although I still have my psoriasis, this oil has definitely helped and they are starting to look like they are disappearing. My skin feels soft and is less dry than before and I just really love this oil and it works AMAZING as a shaving oil – because I have psoriasis on my legs I have been finding it difficult to shave so eek, I have had gorilla legs for a few weeks as my skin has flared up badly. The boyfriend really fancies me, hey! Ha. This oil allows me to shave my legs with ease and I absolutely love it for this reason alone. So, if you struggle with shaving – I 100% recommend giving this oil a try.

The only thing I don’t like about the oil is the need to clean my bath afterwards, I usually just give my bathtub a quick wipe and rinse with the shower head after bathing but with this oil you have to seriously give it a good scrub with elbow grease as the oil sticks to the bath – water alone won’t remove the oil. Not a big problem, I know, but I’m lazy! Ha ha.

Disclosure: This product was gifted to me for review purposes. All words are my own and have not been influenced by the brand and this review is based on my own experience with the product.

Recommended For:

The Bath & Body Emollient Oil is suitable for all skin types but I especially recommend it for those who suffer with eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and dry, sensitive skin.

Where To Buy?

You can get a 200 ml bottle of the Bath & Body Emollient Oil here for £12.99.

A 300 ml bottle is also available for £19.00.

Review: Moroccan Rose Water Facial Mist Spray – InstaNatural

I was sent this Moroccan Rose Water from InstaNatural a while back and it has become a part of my daily skin care routine ever since. InstaNatural is a natural, cruelty-free skincare brand based in the USA. They sell a wide range of organic and natural products including face masks, aromatherapy oils, natural oils, cleansers, moisturisers, toners, etc… and all of their products contain no nasty ingredients such as parabens, colourants and artificial fragrances. I absolutely love InstaNatural and I already have lots of products from the brand and I love every one of them.

22154210_1783419375284077_6716720388944904523_n

What is it?

”Our Rose Water is 100% pure, natural water made from Rosa Damascena flower petals with no artificial fragrances, preservatives or added chemicals. Rose Water is a multifunctional treatment with soothing, hydrating and revitalizing properties. This product naturally balances the skin’s pH and is an effective toner for any dry or troubling skin.” – InstaNatural

First Impressions:

The Moroccan Rose Water comes in an outer cardboard box and inside is the 120 ml white, glass spray bottle which has a spray nozzle and a clear plastic lid. The packaging is simple, fresh and attractive and there is a lot of info about the rose water on the back of the box & bottle including ingredients, how to use, benefits, etc… The Moroccan Rose Water is basically a water spray and it has a subtle rose scent which smells so pretty.

22141010_1783413831951298_3804963736359140322_n22196287_1783157985310216_4496429778912386706_n

My Thoughts On The Moroccan Rose Water:

I absolutely love this spray and use it for everything. I love how it doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances – so it is gentle and kind on my sensitive skin and it doesn’t irritate my psoriasis or make them worse. It literally smells amazing – I love rose-scented products and this rose water has a gorgeous, natural scent which smells beautiful.

After cleansing my skin, I use this Moroccan Rose Water as a toner by applying some of the rose water to a cotton pad and wiping it over my face and neck to close my pores and prevent blackheads. I also use it on damp skin after bathing and showering too and it helps to hydrate and soothe my dry skin. Now and again, I spray a little onto my hair and scalp and comb through and it makes my hair moisturised, shinier and it soothes my irritated scalp.

My favourite way to use the Moroccan Rose water is to spray some onto my skin after applying my foundation, concealer and setting powder. I just apply one or two spritz of the water to my face and my make-up looks so much more natural and flawless afterwards. It is a great little make-up setting spray and I love how it makes cakey powder appear more dewy and radiant. I  love how this is a multi-purpose spray and it can also be used as a aftershave, for aromatherapy uses, treating sunburn, for removing make-up, perking up tired, puffy eyes and so much more.

Disclosure: – This product was gifted to me for review purposes.

The Moroccan Rose Water is perfect for all skin types but I would especially recommend it for those with oily, dry or sensitive skin and those who suffer with skin complaints such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.

Salcura Bioskin DermaSpray & Zeoderm Cream For Psoriasis | My Review & Pictures ❤

 Hello Everybody ❤

This post is for all my fellow psoriasis warriors.

you_are_beautiful_facebook_timeline_cover

Having psoriasis can be so depressing at times, can’t it? I think I really need to get it into my head that once my psoriasis does clear up, it will eventually return, sometimes with a vengeance. For some reason, once my skin is clear, I always think I am cured of this stupid skin disorder and basically get my hopes up that my skin will be normal and beautiful forever more. I suppose it is about time I realised that no matter what I do or what I use on my skin. Psoriasis will be with me for life! 😢

For 23 years now my psoriasis has been clearing up, flaring up then clearing up again and its something I still haven’t gotten used to. I’m not sure if I ever will.  When I do have a few lucky weeks (mainly summertime) and my skin is happy and healthy it clears up brilliantly, I’m able to get my legs out and wear my favourite LBD (little black dress) and actually feel attractive for a while. But, good things must come to an end and before you know it, my psoriasis comes back, literally overnight.

For the last few months, my skin has been wonderfully clear with not a spot or scale in sight. But, as Autumn has crept up, unfortunately so has my psoriasis. As soon as we hit September, my skin has gone from being completely clear to 80% covered in a week. It’s shocking how fast psoriasis can flare up.

So we are in December now, and like every Autumn/Winter I’m cursed with unattractive skin. Especially my feet. They look so horrendous and I know it does not sound very pleasant but they look like cigarette burns on my skin, hundreds of them. Most of the time, when I do have a flare up I only have the red, sore looking, guttate spots all over my body and luckily, I rarely have silver plaques and my psoriasis never itches like most other sufferers skin tends to do. But, this time however I’ve got the full monty! The redness, the silver scales and the itch. I suppose my skin is the worst it has been for years.

My Review

A few weeks back I was sent a Skin Therapy Pack for psoriasis from one of the UK’s best skincare brands, Salcura.

12278927_1510556895903661_1637610117933701690_n

Salcura is used by many people all over the world who suffer with skin disorders such as eczema, dermatitis as well as psoriasis and acne amongst others.  I first came across Salcura a few months back after seeing my blogging friend Cathy (review genie mum of 3) post a review on some Salcura skincare products – she recommended I try Salcura for my psoriasis.

11033923_1510557152570302_2977873591654928614_n

In my Skin Therapy Pack was Salcura’s, Bioskin Zeoderm Cream and Bioskin DermaSpray, (which smells divine) as well as some Lemon Essential Oil and some tasty, healthy nibbles. (Mixed berries and sunflower seeds to help care for my skin from the inside.)

Before I share my review, I just want to add that the products I’m reviewing are not a miraculous cure for psoriasis but rather treatments to help maintain healthy skin by moisturising very dry skin, soothing irritated, red skin (which I’m very prone to) and calming the itch associated with psoriasis and eczema. Remember everybody’s skin reacts differently to products so bear in mind that this is my own personal experience whilst using Salcura. 😘

Salcura’s Bioskin DermaSpray

WP_20151106_16_19_54_Pro (1)

Salcura’s Bioskin Dermaspray is a skin nourishing spray that is a hassle free, liquid alternative to emollient creams. It is totally free from artificial fragrances’, parabens, steroids and other harsh ingredients that are unsuitable for sensitive amd problem skin. The ingredients that make up DermaSpray are of 98% natural origin, the most active ingredient being Sea Buckhorn which is rich in nourishing Omegas.

First time I used the DermaSpray, I instantly fell in love with the scent. I’m not really sure what the smell is but after reading the ingredient list, I assume it is peppermint oil. It smells lovely. I kind of went overboard with the spray because it smells so god damn good. It would be fab if Salcura could bottle that scent as a perfume. I reckon it would be a sell out! Beautiful! 😂😍

I’ve been using the DermaSpray two times a day after my morning shower and after my night time bath. It is recommended that you  use it around 3-4 times a day but I’ve had great results from only using only it twice. I’ve also been using the spray on my scalp too and have seen great improvement so far.

What I love about the DermaSpray is how quickly it soaks into the skin. My biggest pet hate is heavy, greasy creams that take ages to dry along with messy creams that require hand washing after use, (I’m lazy, 😂) but with DermaSpray, all you have to do is spray, wait a minute for the liquid to soak in then go about your day. DermaSpray is great for people like myself who prefer to moisturise without using messy creams.

Since I first started using DermaSpray about two weeks ago, I can honestly say I have not itched once, so I’m happy about that! Although it hasn’t made any improvement to my actual psoriasis just yet, and by that I mean clearing them up, it has definitely calmed the irritated itch I had and left me with smoother skin. I’m hopeful my skins appearance will improve with frequent use. It has only been two weeks since I first tried DermaSpray, so hopefully I will see better results in the next couple of weeks. I will keep you updated!

I believe how DermaSpray works is by penetrating deep into the skins barrier to support healthy skin growth, nourishing new skin cells in their early development. So fingers crossed that my skin will be better off when this ‘new’ skin appears at the surface. 💪😊

Salcura’s Bioskin – Zeoderm Cream

12239947_1510557189236965_3331770554951907642_n

Bioskin Zeoderm Cream is a unique blend of natural skin essential omega oils, vitamins and minerals. It has been specially formulated to help severe skin dryness and is an alternative to steroid treatment creams. The cream is of 99% natural origin with the active ingredient being Natural Volcanic Zeolite, which is rich in rejuvenating minerals. Like DermaSpray, Zeoderm cream is free from harsh ingredients. 👌

Zeoderm cream is recommended for use in conjunction with Dermaspray or DermaSerum when psoriasis is pretty extreme or going through a bad flare up. The cream provides intensive hydration, moisture and nourishment for people who suffer with problematic skin disorders.

The great thing about Zeoderm is it can be used on all areas of the body including the face. It is also safe to use whenever you want as there are no limits to how much you can use or how long you can use it. This pretty much proves it is safe and gentle on the skin, as most creams that are used to treat psoriasis have a restriction to how long and often it can be used.

My first impression on the Zeoderm cream was that the cream itself looks like face mask cream. It has a earthly, pale green appearance  with a natural sweet scent which lingers on the skin after use. It is light in consistency and dries very quickly, which is ideal for me as I’m impatient and find it so boring and uncomfortable when waiting for treatment creams to dry.

I’ve also noticed that the silver scales I have seem to ‘melt’ and disappear after applying Zeoderm cream, which is amazing to see my skin being deeply moisturised, visibly before my eyes. When psoriasis skin becomes so dry, the scales/plaques we have can split/crack causing discomfort, bleeding and sometimes infection so to prevent this, I will definitely be using this cream to treat my dry areas from now on.

In regards to the redness I suffer with, I’ve yet to see a really big difference although the redness is a little bit paler and less irritated after only two weeks so I’m hoping with longer use, I’ll see greater improvement.

I’m about to do something I never ever thought I’d do as a psoriasis sufferer, and that is to show my skin to the world. Being so vain 😂 this is a very BIG thing for me as I’ve always been resistant to let anybody see my skin, out of fear of judgment. So, big pat on the back for Katie Rose for being brave. 😊 ❤

So here goes.

This is a picture of my foot before I started using Salcura Bioskin Products.

Lemon Essential Oil

10455349_1510556899236994_6734089623678866347_n

I haven’t really got round to trying the lemon essential oil on my skin. It is often diluted in a carrier such as vegetable oil or creams and is a great way to add brightness to your skin and has great cleansing properties. I have been advised in the past not to use any citrus fruit on my skin as psoriasis sufferers are prone to have an allergic reaction / bad flare up after skin contact with the oil.

So, instead I have used it in my reed diffuser and I adore the uplifting aroma it has. Lemon Essential Oil has a wonderful aromatic effect on the mind. It is very uplifting, refreshing and improves focus and concentration. So every time I sit down to write, I pop some Lemon Essential Oil into my reed diffuser and it definitely helps cleanse my mind, helping me focus. Being a scatterbrain, this is just what I need, ha-ha! 😂

Apparently, the aroma of Lemon Essential Oil is also beneficial to those who suffer with anxiety and stress, being a stress head myself, I will be using the oil everyday to chill out and unwind. As psoriasis can be triggered by stress, hopefully the oil will help me de-stress and keep future flare ups, caused by stress, at bay!

Mixed Berries

Berries are delicious, juicy and sweet and they’re also good for your skin. They are low in calories, high in fibre, and contain lots of vitamins and minerals.

There are lots of powerful antioxidants in berries, including anthocyanins, quercetin, and vitamin C. Anthocyanins help to reduce inflammation and help prevent and manage arthritis. Quercetin can also decrease the inflammatory effects of the joints for people with inflammatory conditions like psoriatic arthritis.

Vitamin C is another antioxidant found in berries. It is largely responsible for the health of collagen, which helps maintain cartilage stores and aids in joint flexibility. Eating vitamin C–rich berries will also contribute to radiant, healthier skin and healthy, lush hair.

Sunflower Seeds

I’ve always praised the Sunflower for the wonders it does for the skin, especially psoriasis skin. Although I’ve never tried sunflower seeds until now, I’m a big fan of sunflower oil – you can read my sunflower oil and psoriasis review here.

Sunflower seeds are yummy little seeds with a mild, almost nutty taste. They are extremely high in vitamin E which is a god-send for all types of skin not just skin disorders.

Sunflower seeds help moisturise skin from the inside, repairing and protecting the skins barrier and providing a great source of hydration an moisture to dry skin. The seeds are a full of goodness, as well as vitamin E, they are packed with zinc, iron and magnesium too.

Sunflower seeds are not only good for psoriasis skin but they are also a great source of nutrition for psoriasis sufferers who have psoriatic arthritis too.  Sunflower seeds are very high in vitamin E which is effective in reducing arthritis symptoms due to its anti-inflammatory properties. The seeds also contain copper which is vital for the function of enzymes involved in cross linking collagen and elastin, providing strength and flexibility in bones and joints.

I’m excited to try out a few other products in the Salcura range, so expect more reviews about the skin care brand and its products in the near future!
