Review: Rodial – Suede Lips Lip Crayon – Big Apple

I got this Suede Lips lip crayon from Rodial in my September Glossybox and this is the first time I have ever owned one of their products so I was very happy to receive it in my box. I was sent a 2.4g lip crayon in the shade Big Apple which retails at £22 on Rodial’s website. For those who don’t know about the brand, Rodial is a high-end skincare & make-up brand founded by international beauty journalist – Maria Hatzistefanis. Rodial sell a wide range of products including skincare, make-up, body-care and gorgeous little gift sets and so far I’m liking the brand.

ABOUT: ”Saturate your lips with intense pigmented colour with an on-trend matte finish with our Suede Lip jumbo crayon. The long-lasting, non-drying formula is enriched with Vitamin E and has a creamy texture, allowing colour to glide on effortlessly for smooth looking lips with a pop of colour. Inspired by the confident, independent city woman, Big Apple is a beautiful soft burgundy berry colour to add a touch of sophisticated colour for a night out with the girls.” – Rodial

VERDICT: On first impressions I did think the Big Apple shade would be too dark against my pale skin as it is a rich dark-nude, burgundy/brown colour with berry tones but I absolutely love it and it has become my fave lip colour these last few weeks and I’ve been wearing it every day instead of my all time fave Kat Von D ‘Studded Kiss lipstick in shade Magick, The colour is gorgeous, not too ‘in your face’ but not a boring colour either. I love it and it is not as dark as I first thought it would be and it really compliments my skin tone.

800VBNM

I love the creamy texture and how it glides easily over the lips leaving a true matte finish and I didn’t find it sticky or greasy either. It stays put for hours too although I did find it to be a little drying on my lips which I’ve found quite common with matte lipsticks. My lips are always dry and chapped at this time of year so before I apply the lip crayon I make sure to moisturise my lips with my Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm to keep them hydrated and soft.  I use the tip of the crayon to line my lips and I then fill in the rest with the crayon. The only downfall is there isn’t enough product in the crayon so it won’t last very long. As you can see from my photo’s I’m nearly used up but, I really do love the colour and I’m really liking the Suede Lips collection so I will defo be looking at the other shades to see what I can buy next – I just wish there was more product in the packaging.

DISCLOSURE: I received this product in my Glossybox subscription box which I pay for with my own money.

WHERE TO BUY: You can get it HERE on the website for £22.

Review: Rimmel – Match Perfection 2-in-1 Skintone Adapting Concealer & Highlighter

I absolutely love this Match Perfection 2-in-1 Concealer & Highlighter and this is the 3rd or 4th tube I have bought. It is a 2-in-1 skintone adapting concealer & highlighter which contains Vitamin C and Vitamin E and also has an oxygen complex which allows the skin to breathe. It lasts for up to 13 hours wear and helps to banish signs of fatigue and illuminates the skin too.

The Match Perfection Concealer & Highlighter comes in a small 7 ml cream-coloured tube which features navy blue and hot pink writing, a blue screw-off lid and a brush tip applicator. To use you just squeeze the tube and the concealer comes out at the top saturating the brush applicator. The concealer itself has a lightweight, creamy consistency and it doesn’t have a scent. I chose the shade 010 Ivory which is very fair although there are other shades to choose from.

22540133_1787434054882609_7327322726329786253_n22449599_1787434078215940_1960038417576018087_n

22491677_1787434148215933_3991968291594314046_n

I use this on both my bare skin and over make-up. When I skip foundation, I just apply a little of the concealer under my eyes to brighten up and even-out my skintone. It looks natural and you would never guess I was wearing it as it looks like my own skin. After applying my foundation, I use the concealer underneath my eyes to conceal and brighten my dark circles, make my under eyes look less ‘sunken’ and for highlighting my forehead, nose, cupids bow and underneath my cheek contour to make them ‘pop’ and look more defined. I apply a loose banana powder or a pressed setting powder over the concealer to make sure it stays put. The formula is thick, but not too thick and I love how lightweight the concealer feels on my skin which feels ‘breathable’. I hate heavy concealers which make my skin feel suffocated. It has a matte finish and I don’t find it looks cakey or powdery after applying or throughout the day.

I absolutely love how well it brightens my dark circles and it helps to conceal my deep-set, ‘sunken’ under eyes by making them appear plumper & firmer and less noticeable. I also love the precision brush applicator tip which is easier to use and you just screw of the lid, give it a squeeze and your ready-to-go. I find it blends better with my fingers by dabbing it lightly with my tips and it blends in well on the skin too. Also, one tube lasts me about 3-4 weeks and I use mine almost everyday.

I would say it is a light to medium coverage concealer so if your looking for a full coverage concealer I wouldn’t recommend this one but if you just want to add a little brightness to your eyes & skin as well as a bit of light coverage then this is perfect for you. My complexion is quite clear although it can look dull sometimes so I love how this brightens up my complexion as well as lightly concealing dark circles, eye bags, etc…  and it is also budget friendly too, so what’s not to love, hey!

I tested a bit of the concealer on a small patch of my psoriasis so you dolls can see the coverage/brightness for yourselves. Please keep in mind that my psoriasis are raised a little bit and I have only applied one layer of the concealer to my skin.

I hate taking photographs of my psoriasis, but oh well – ha. I hope they help.

1. Before applying – 2. After applying one layer.

DISCLOSURE: I bought this product with my own money.

WHERE TO BUY?

I bought mine HERE for £6.49 on Amazon UK. Although it will be available to buy in-store/online at most drugstores, beauty stores and supermarkets such as Asda, Boots, Superdrug, etc….

Glossybox: October 2017 – Unicorns & Mermaids

I can’t even begin to explain how EXCITED I have been for this months Glossybox. I’ve literally had butterflies in my stomach since September and I’ve been checking my emails religiously for a dispatch email from Glossybox. I don’t even know why I have been extra excited this month. Ha. Probably down to the fact that us glossies will receive a gorgeous, pretty, fab, lovely, adorable MERMAID or UNICORN themed box this October. C’mon girls… who doesn’t love mermaids and unicorns! Not only that, this month we will all receive five FULL SIZE make-up products with a total value of £51.48 which is definitely something to be happy about considering we have only paid £13.25 for the subscription.

Mr. Postman delivered my box today and I have been sent the gorgeous pink & blue UNICORN box. I’ll admit I was kind of wishing for the MERMAID box as I’m totally a mermaid at heart but I was still over the moon with my gorgeous unicorn box design and it is sitting on my dressing table right now looking FAB.

Sleek Make-Up – Crème To Powder Blush – RRP £5.99

This cream-to-powder blush is highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. It claims to give a natural, dewy finish and is applied to the cheeks and blended to create a powder finish. Each box will contain one of six shades. unfortunately I got the shade CRIMSON which is so bright its unreal. I would have preferred a more subtle, lighter shade as I think the crimson shade will look ridiculous against my pale skin, I’m guessing I’ll look like a clown. I’ll give it a go nonetheless and I’ll let you guys know what I thought of it. I’m quite new to Sleek Make-Up and I only own one of their products which is the Black Eyebrow Powder – which I’m not a big fan of so maybe this blush will be the decider for me as to whether or not I like Sleek products and if I will buy them again.

Kawaii Enterprise – Brush Cleansing Egg – RRP £7.99

So this Brush Cleaning Egg from Kawaii Enterprise is a bright pink silicone make-up brush cleaner which is easy to use and helps to keep your brushes in great shape and free from bacteria. You just pop your two fingers inside the egg, wet your brush and add a bit of liquid soap or facial cleanser. You then swirl your brushes against the nodules and bumps and run the bristles of your brush down the deeper grooves to realign the brush hairs without damaging them. I think this is a great little pick for this months box as everybody needs clean brushes – but I already own a set of brush cleansing eggs which I’ve reviewed here, so there is no point in having another really. I’m sure my sister will love the Brush Cleansing Egg so I’ll give it to her or maybe I will add it to a bundle of other beauty products and run a GIVEAWAY for you lot. What do ya think?

Lord & Berry – Magic Brow Perfect Eyebrow Pencil – RRP £14

The Magic Brow Perfect Brow Pencil is a highly pigmented pencil and it has a marbelised tip which is swirled with two complimentary shades so it looks natural and produces a gorgeous colour variation found in natural brows. I got the brunette shade as I told Glossybox I had black hair in my beauty profile so I’m guessing you will get a shade based on your beauty profile… so make sure if you ever change your hair colour to update your details on the website. I really like Lord & Berry products and I own quite a few of their products already so I’m really happy with this high end product being in this months box. I can’t wait to give it a try and I hope I like it as I’m struggling with my brows at the minute, haha. The pencil retails at £14 so it is worth more than the subscription itself.

Bang Beauty – Cream Color – RRP £19.50

The Crème Color from Bang Beauty is a multi-purpose cream which can be used on the lips, cheeks and eyes. It comes in a small tub and has a super shiny mirrored lid which looks beautiful, it is also vegan and cruelty-free so thumbs up. I have never heard of Bang Beauty before so I cant wait to give this product a go as I love discovering new brands – I suppose that’s the best part about subscribing to a beauty box. The Crème Colour is priced at £19.50 so the value of thus product alone outweighs the £10 subscription cost.

Make-Up Revolution – Mermaids vs Unicorns Eyeshadow Palette – RRP £4

I’m not really into my eyeshadow palettes because I’m absolutely awful at eye makeup and prefer to get my eyes done by a MUA – but, these mermaid and unicorn colours are so pretty, dreamy and amazing that I think it’s about time I taught myself how to apply eyeshadow properly. YouTube to the rescue! The Mermaids vs Unicorns Palette is a budget-friendly palette at just £4 and there is a double ended eyeshadow brush included too. I think I will try some mermaid and unicorn inspired makeup tonight and if it doesn’t look poo, I’ll post the results on my Instagram page.

Review: Yvettevans – Light Up ‘Hollywood’ Cosmetic Mirror

Some of you may know that I am a top Amazon UK reviewer and because of this I regularly get sent various things to review on Amazon. I love it when I’m sent beauty-related items and I was over the moon when I was kindly gifted this Lighted Cosmetic Mirror from a company called Yvettevans.

I just had to tell you all about it by posting a short n’ sweet review on my blog as I love it so much and thought you guys would like to hear about it.

''''

Thoughts:

The Lighted Cosmetic Mirror arrived in an outer cardboard box and inside was the mirror and a leaflet which tells you how to use, battery installation,  cautions, etc… It also comes with 12V 23A energy-saving and long-lasting batteries installed which can be replaced when needed. The mirror is a small, lightweight and portable compact mirror made with ABS, glossy, hard plastic and distortion-free glass so you can see every little detail on your face. It is a two-sided folding mirror with one side being a light up mirror made with polished glass and the other side is a 2 x magnification mirror. There are four bright LED lights either side of the mirror so eight lights altogether and they can be turned on/off by pressing the touch screen circle at the top of the mirror. The lights can also be dimmed or brightened by keeping your finger on the touch button and they help you to apply your make-up much easier under dark and poorly light conditions.

22406141_1785801275045887_2468069552972498689_n22308877_1785801218379226_731703465072649059_n22366553_1785801148379233_2646190364648194516_n

There are three colours to choose from (white, pink, black), I chose the black as I liked it better than the other colours and thought it looked elegant and classy but the pink and white are lovely too.

The mirror doesn’t look cheap or flimsy and I absolutely love it, I really do. I use the mirror for applying my make-up, contact lenses and plucking my eyebrows and the lights come in handy for me as I have astigmatism of the eyes and myopia so the lights help me to see better. When I’m at home I keep it on my dressing table and it looks very pretty and gorgeous – when I’m on the go, I pop it into my handbag so I can check on my makeup throughout the day and touch up if necessary.

As you can tell I love my little light up mirror and I really do recommend it. I think it would make the perfect gift for girls and women everywhere and the quality of it is very good and it is great value for money.

Where To Buy?

You can get a Lighted Cosmetic Mirror HERE on Amazon UK.

There are three colours to choose from & they were £19.99 but they’re on sale for £9.99.

Same day and next day delivery are also available.

Review: RUIMIO – Silicone Make-Up Brush Cleaners

So, before, I posted my review on the Core Collection kit from Real Techniques and I thought I’d let you all know how I clean my make-up brushes. I was kindly sent these Silicone Make-Up Brush Cleaners from a lovely company called RUIMIO and they have made my life so much easier. I hate cleaning my brushes by hand and I always feel like they are not being cleaned properly or deeply enough, so I was really excited about trying these out.

21559022_1782439118715436_1242916235771502373_n22050215_1782392398720108_1474416938032992949_n

The two-piece portable set comes in a small box and includes a gorgeous baby pink silicone make-up brush cleaner and a pretty mint green one. They are made with safe, non-toxic, non-porous silicone which is soft and springy and will keep its shape, rinse clean instantly and last you a lifetime. They both have handy hooks too, so you can hang them up to dry after using. The brushes work by cleaning accumulated makeup, oil, dirt and bacteria off of your makeup brushes and you only need to use a little soap or shampoo to clean them, which keeps them in tip-top condition, makes your make-up brushes last longer and prevents bacteria from spreading on the skin which causes pimples, blackheads and breakouts to appear on the face.

22089648_1782439265382088_1606375056709639440_n22050172_1782439268715421_8190965909647713766_n

There are three different cleaning areas on the silicone brush cleaners: a grooved area for larger brushes, a cross-hatched area for shorter-bristle brushes and small nubs for your smallest brushes.

They are so easy to use and all you have to do is wet your brush under warm tap water, apply some shampoo or facial wash to the silicone cleaner and place two fingers inside and gently rub the brush bristles up and down and around against the grooved area, the cross-hatched area and the raised nubs. You can also hold it by hand instead of inserting your fingers. Then you just rinse the brush cleaner under the tap, pat your brush bristles dry with a paper towel and shape them while they’re wet and hang the brush cleaner up to dry.

I really love this little make-up brush cleaning set, the colours are pretty, they look so cute, they are hygienic, they work great at cleaning your brushes and they are super affordable too. What’s not to love?

Where To Buy?

I got my Silicone Make-Up Brush Cleaners here* from RUIMIO’s Amazon UK shop. They cost £4.99 and next day delivery is available.

Disclosure: This product was sent to me free of charge for review purposes.

Review: Real Techniques – Core Collection Make-Up Brush Kit

I bought some new make-up brushes a few days ago as my ASBO dog Marley, (named after the film – Marley & Me – by name & by nature!) has a fetish for make-up brushes, beauty blenders and sponges and likes to destroy them. I have seriously gone through so many make-up brushes and sponges because of him and I always forget to put them out of reach. He has the time of his life when he is ripping them to shreds, so I can’t complain, little rascal – ha. So yeah, I bought some new brushes and decided to go with Real Techniques for a change as I have never owned any of their brushes.

22046774_1782244442068237_7021613349433970749_n22050016_1782244435401571_5041179601198237596_n

The Core Collection comes in a plastic case and you can see the brushes inside, on the back of the case it tells you what make-up brush is which. The four-piece set helps to create a perfect canvas and flawless base and contains four make-up brushes which all have a white tip with soft,  plush, synthetic bristles which are made from taklon bristles so they are 100% cruelty free.  They also have an orange metal with Real Techniques printed on them and each brush is labelled and has a black rubber grip. The set is perfect for those who are experience with make-up and know the ins and outs as well as for those who are new to make-up and inexperienced with make-up brushes. It is a great starter kit for beginners.

What’s In The Box

a panoramic case

The panoramic case is a dual carrier and stand to store and keep your brushes organised and safe when travelling or for displaying your brushes on your dressing table. You simply fold over the case and pull on the drawstring to tighten it and the case will stand up. It can also be used for upside drying of your brushes. It has a white faux leather exterior which is wipe clean and perfect  in case you get make-up prints on it. It has a grey interior with a white trim and also has a Real Techniques tag at the bottom. It has a Velcro strap opening/closing and has four pieces of elastic on the right side which keeps brushes secure, there is also an extra two pieces of elastic on the left side for storing more brushes if you wish!

a contour brush

The contour brush has a tapered tip which I use for contouring and highlighting. I love using this brush to apply highlighter to my cheekbones and brown-bone as well as for contouring my eyes with a little bronzer when I’m skipping eyeshadow.

22154588_1782392188720129_5204177687131354578_n

a detailer brush

The detailer brush is a very small and flat brush which I use for applying concealer under my eyes and lash-line and around the nose. It is precision cut which is great for concealing problem areas. I also use this brush for fixing up my eyebrows with concealer and it can be used as a lip brush for shape and definition too. It’s also great for tidying up lipstick with concealer.

22089253_1782392238720124_1620076938368099117_n

a pointed foundation brush

The pointed foundation brush has a flat paddle shape which I think is perfect for applying primers, liquid foundations and for applying & blending concealer under the eyes. I love using it to build full coverage with my liquid foundation too.

22050354_1782392218720126_8208040901596707343_n

a buffing brush

The buffing brush is a large round brush which I love using to apply and blend my liquid foundation. It can also be used for full coverage of cream to powder foundation or mineral foundation and is great for applying bronzer, blusher and highlighter as well as for setting foundation and concealer with a loose or pressed powder.

22050378_1782392075386807_5377283324280961789_n

I’ll be using my 2-pack Silicone Brush Cleaners from RUIMIO to keep them nice and clean and in tip-top shape. I got mine here* for £4.99 if you want to take a look. These are not included with the Core Collection. Ha.

22050215_1782392398720108_1474416938032992949_n

Thoughts

I absolutely love the Core Collection kit, you seriously cannot go wrong with this collection, they are fabulous quality and definitely worth the money – I bought these as I’m trying to improve my make-up skills and wanted the perfect tools for the job. I also love how they are cheaper to buy on Amazon as they are more expensive in high street shops.  I really like the case and it fits perfectly in my handbag when I’m out and about and I display my brushes on my dressing table when I’m applying my make-up and they are easy to find and look nice too. The make-up brushes are soft and fluffy and pick up make-up well, my favourites are the pointed foundation brush which I use to blend my concealer under my eyes and the buffing brush because I can use it to apply foundation, blusher, bronzer and setting powder. The make-up brushes are also cleaned easily and so far I have washed them twice and my brushes haven’t shredded which is great as I have found with cheaper brushes they tend to lose their bristles when washing, they also don’t leave bristles all over your face either.  I’ve fallen in love with Real Techniques and I love the Core Collection. I think I’ll buy the Brow Set* next and maybe the Starter Set* for eye make-up.

I would definitely recommend Real Techniques and I absolutely love the Core Collection.

Where To Buy?

I got my Core Collection Make-Up Brush Kit here* on Amazon UK. It was £13.95 and I got same-day delivery.  The brushes are sold and dispatched by Amazon and not a marketplace seller so I know the brushes are definitely 100% genuine.

You can also shop on the Real Techniques website here.

Disclosure: I bought this product.

YouTube Made Me Buy It: Too Faced – Born This Way Foundation – Review

Usually, I use drugstore brands such as Rimmel, MAX-FACTOR & Maybelline when buying foundations but after watching so many beauty guru’s putting the Born This Way foundation on a pedestal, I just had to buy it and try it out for myself. I’ve had my bottle for a few months now and it’s practically empty so I will definitely be repurchasing as it is without a doubt the BEST foundation I have ever used.

22046563_1781672778792070_8621319237042229506_n

What Is The Born This Way Foundation?

” This oil-free foundation masterfully diffuses the line between make-up and skin. Coverage so undetectable and skin so naturally radiant, they’ll think you were BORN THIS WAY.” – Too Faced

The Born This Way foundation is an undetectable, medium to full coverage foundation which is infused with Coconut Water to replenish skins moisture levels and hydrate the skin. It’s also enriched with Alpine Rose which will help to brighten the skins appearance and promote elasticity. Also, it contains Hyaluronic Acid which works by giving the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance.

First Impressions:

I absolutely love all of Too Faced’s packaging, absolutely gorge! The Born This Way foundation is no different either. It is a 30 ml bottle which comes in a pretty little pink box and inside is a frosted glass bottle with gorgeous gold detailing and writing. It has a black pump dispenser which can also be screwed off. On the bottom of the bottle it says the foundation can be used up to twelve months after opening too.

When I don’t apply fake tan I am very pale and quite fair skinned, I also have pink undertones in my skin so I chose the Warm Nude shade in the foundation because it it is very light and has neutral undertones with will hide the pinkness in my skin, for this reason I didn’t pick a golden or rosy foundation. The Warm Nude shade is probably a shade darker than my natural skin-tone but because I wear a light fake tan, it blends in easily with the rest of my skin. If I was to not wear fake tan I think the shades Vanilla and Porcelain would be my perfect match – next time I think I’ll buy one of those shades.

Me wearing Too Faced Born This Way foundation in shade Warm Nude. Please ignore my eyebrows – I’m trying to let them grow so I can re-shape! 🙂

Another pic wearing the shade Warm Nude. I am also wearing fake tan, blusher and banana powder here.

The main reason why I love the Born This Way foundation is because it makes my skin look more youthful! I’ve just turned dirty thirty and unfortunately, my skin is not what is used to be in my twenties. I have fine lines around my eyes and a deep set wrinkle between my eyebrows which I despise so much and the foundation made them look way less noticeable by deeply moisturising my skin. I reckon I can pass for 25 years old when wearing this foundation, ha ha (wishful thinking) so for that reason alone I absolutely adore it.

You lot know that I have psoriasis and luckily, I rarely get any of it on my face – I don’t get many blemishes or pimples either but I do have a very dull, boring complexion with large pores on my cheeks and this foundation makes my skin look so much brighter, completely conceals my large pores and makes my skin look radiant and glowy. It is seriously just perfect.

The foundation provides a natural coverage and if you choose the right shade to match your natural skin-tone – it will literally look as if you are completely barefaced and aren’t wearing make-up at all. It is super light weight too and it feels like you aren’t even wearing it because the skin feels like it can breathe. I hate heavy foundations that feel suffocating on the skin so this gets a big thumbs up for being light and fresh.

I apply it in the morning time with a beauty blender and it seriously stays on all day and night without fading. It doesn’t oxidise on the skin either and wont make your face look orange / darker after applying

Like I said before, I don’t get many blemishes on my skin so I don’t really need a full coverage foundation so just one layer is enough for me. It is a medium coverage foundation and one pump is enough to cover blemishes but you can build to full coverage by layering as needed.

I tested a little bit out on my psoriasis for you guys to show you how well it covers imperfections. Please keep in mind that my psoriasis are raised.

Before applying Born This Way:

After applying one layer of Born This Way:

22008127_1781664478792900_7792192361845809096_n
This just looks like a white sheet of paper! I’m so pale – ha ha.

The only thing I didn’t like was after a few hours – (I’m talking 12 hours later / at the end of the day) my skin was shiny and oily on my forehead and cheeks which I don’t get as I have dry skin and the foundation is meant to be oil-free. The foundation does stay put all day long nonetheless and the shine is easily removed with a bit of setting powder though, so I’m not really bothered to be honest.

Also when the bottle is nearly empty it won’t dispense any more foundation when pressing the dispenser so I’ve screw mine off and I dip a thin make-up brush into the bottle neck to get all the foundation out which has coated the bottom and sides. Gotta get my money’s worth, hey! I will be buying a new bottle this week and I’m thinking of buying the Born This Way concealer and the Born This Way setting powder too! 🙂

Where To Buy?

I did try to buy the foundation on the Too Faced website but they don’t ship to the UK so I had to get mine here from Debenhams, next day delivery is available. It’s £29 to buy and they have a very temptating offer on right now too, so if you spend £50 or more on Too Faced products, you will receive a free gift with your order. The gift you’ll receive is Deluxe Sweet Peach Lip Gloss in Pure Peach and the Deluxe Melt-Off Mascara. Very nice indeed, hey! I might have to take them up on that offer, I can’t resist a freebie ha ha!

You can also get it on Amazon UK here*. It is a bit dearer on Amazon UK so would probably be best getting it from Debenhams – but if you have an Amazon Gift Card or something you want to spend, then go ahead. The Born This Way foundation is dispatched and sold by Amazon and not a marketplace seller, so you shouldn’t worry as it is definitely 100% genuine.

If you are from the USA, the Born This Way foundation is $39 and you can shop on the website here. You will get a FREE Hangover Deluxe, Deluxe La Creme Lipstick, & Deluxe Love Flush Blush on ANY purchase over $65!*

Glossybox: September 2017

It’s been ages since a Glossybox turned up at my door. Last week I signed back up to Glossybox (and Birchbox) and it arrived this morning. In my box was three full size items which I’m pretty pleased about. I haven’t tried any of the products out properly yet as I’m super busy right now but I will sit down later tonight and try each one.

Contents:

Pixi By Petra – Brow Tamer (£12)
(FULL SIZE)

This is the easy to use, long-lasting brow gel which defines brows and also contains aloe vera and panthenol to soothe the skin and give a natural look. It’s paraben and fragrance free and not tested on animals. I really don’t know how to feel about this one. I’m excited that this is my first product from this brand but I’m disappointed that it’s just a brow gel – which I don’t use. My eyebrows are super fine and blonde (which I tint) and they really don’t need taming, if anything they need a bit of ooomph as without my eyebrow pencils and powders it seriously looks like I’m browless, ha. I’ll give it a try anyway and if I like it I’ll continue to use.

Monu Skincare – Firming Fiji Facial Oil (£26)

I love my face oils so I’m eager to try this Firming Fiji Facial Oil from Monu Skincare. Yet another brand I haven’t bought from. This oil contains plant oils and essential oils to calm, firm and brighten dull skin. I have the travel size here but the full size product is £26 to buy. Can’t wait to try this out, lets hope it knocks a few years off me, hey!

Rodial – Suede Lips (£22)
(FULL SIZE)

I didn’t even know this product was in the box until I read the card which listed all the items in my box, so it was a nice surprise when I found it hiding at the bottom of the box hours later underneath all the shredded paper. So this is a full size product from Rodial, a skincare and make-up brand. I’ve never used any of thier products either but I’m very happy that this was in this months box and I will defo be using it. I have the shade Big Apple from their Suede Lips collection, all worth £22 and enriched with vitamin E to hydrate and moisturise the lips. I haven’t tried this yet but I will post a review on it in the next couple of days. Stay tuned…

Cetaphil – Mini Skincare Trio

This Mini Skincare Trio from Cetaphil is my favourite product in this months box, I love my skincare products and Cetaphil is a brand I’ve been wanting to try for ages. Cetaphil products are recommended by dermatologists world-wide for dry, sensitive skin and for skin disorders like psoriasis and eczema too. Cetaphil is used by models, MUA’s and beauty bloggers everywhere, it’s about time I got to try some of their products. I have super sensitive skin and psoriasis so I can’t wait to try these out. The full size Gentle Skin Cleanser is £14.99, the Moisturising Facial Cream is £8.99 for the full size and the Moisturising Lotion for the body is £14.99 for the full size.

STYLondon – Siligel Blender (£5.99)

I have used products from STYLondon in the past and I’m not the biggest fan of their products but the Siligel Blender has caught my eye so I will definitely give this a try later. Apparently, the Siligel Blender is more hygienic than other blenders and requires you to use less foundation as it doesn’t absorb as much as make-up sponges. Hopefully I’ll like it and it won’t end up in the products I hate bin! I”ll let you guys know…

I love that Glossybox have given us a treat this month and I’m eating it now with a nice cuppa tea. Nom Nom…

Spoiler Alert:
I am sooooo excited for next months box as there are two gorgeous box designs being sent out. All Glossyboxers will receive a MERMAID box or a UNICORN box. I think I’m a more of a mermaid girl myself so I’m hoping I get the mermaid box but I’ll be happy with either!
Which one are you?

Review: ‘Lolita’ Velvet Lippie – Absolute New York

Hey dolls,

I got this a liquid lippie a few months ago in one of my GLOSSYBOX’s and I have been meaning to review it as I have actually worn it quite a couple of times now and it’s nearing empty. It is a buttery matte lip cream for Absolute New Yorks Velvet Lippie collection. I got the the shade LOLITA in my box which is very pink and very pretty. There are 24 shades to choose from and after seeing some swatches on YouTube I’m liking shade TERRACOTTA a-lot. (I like my nudes.) I love the blue shades SURFS UP and LAGOON too, they are not usually colours I’d choose as they are a bit daring and wild but I think they look fab! They look like they were made especially for mermaids! Gorgeous!

thZTGD21GQ

The Velvet Lippies retail at around £4.95.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

I love my pink lippies so I instantly liked the pretty pink shade LOLITA. In the tube it reminded me of a pin-up pink shade. The packaging isn’t anything special, it is a simple looking transparent tube with a black screw lid, pretty basic.

13935106_10209995840996937_8547979315981121093_n

It has a pleasantly mild scent (thanks to artificial fragrance), it smells like vanilla a bit but it’s not overpowering, it’s very subtle. It doesn’t taste of anything either.

THE BAD!

First time I used this I did what I always do, rub my lips together which I shouldn’t have! It made the colour patchy and uneven and I had to apply more. It’s best to apply the colour to your lips and keep them parted until they dry matte. It looks cheap too, the applicator especially. It is so tiny and flimsy and it doesn’t hold much product or doesnt transfer much colour to the lips so you have to keep dipping it back in and out and in and out to build the colour up and make it even.

14067633_10209995834956786_5310037512313894721_n

I really wouldn’t say this was buttery at all. It does feel creamy though. I have a bottom lip lobe and a few lines and wrinkles which have crept up the last few years and this did accenturate them and they became more noticeable the longer I wore it. It dried my lips out too.

THE GOOD!

It is a really beautiful colour isn’t it, it’s almost like a pinky, lilac, lavender colour and it feels creamy and velvety when applied to the lips and it spreads like a lip gloss would but it dries  matte.

It also made my lips appear fuller and more plump so I really love it for that alone and to say it is quite cheap, it is well pigmented and long-lasting; I can keep this on for a couple of hours without needing to top up.

VERDICT!

untitled_edited

I didn’t look at the price before trying the lippie on and afterwards I guessed the Velvet Lippie would be priced at around £1-£3. To be honest the only thing I liked about it was the colour, the fact I prefer matte lips, the beautiful pinky, lilac colour and how my lips appeared plumper. I have loved wearing it the last few weeks as I think it really brightens my ‘Casper’ complexion up, giving my pale skin a lovely pop of colour. It really is a gorgeous shade for Spring and Summer. Another thing, it did dry my lips out a bit and it really accentuates fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and it makes chapped lips look a million times worse. AVOID if you have chapped, dry and flaky lips! I was cursed with chapped lips last week after over using my lip plumper (oops) and the colour looked awful on my lips so I had to get the lip balm and lip scrubs out to give me a perfect smooth base.

jb

So, final words. It is a pretty colour for Spring and Summer, it’s cheap, has long staying power and it makes lips appear plumper.

Do you like it?

Have you tried any of the other Velvet Lippie shades? Which ones?

Peace out girls!

Love

MAXFACTOR MASTERPEICE | HIGH PRECISION LIQUID LINER | VELVET BLACK | REVIEW ❤

I love my liquid eyeliners, always have and always will. Cat like eyes are my definitely my thing and it’s not often that I go without my eye flicks. I love trying out new eyeliners and was very pleased when I was gifted MAXFACTOR’s MASTERPIECE High Precision Liquid Eyeliner in shade 01 | Velvet Black in return for an honest review. So, lets go!

What is it?

13043416_1558863194406364_9001850792486449661_n

MAXFACTOR says:

Transform your look with bold intensity. The unique paddle-shaped tip draws both a dramatic thick line and an elegant thin line, to create the precise look you want. The intense black, velvet formula glides on smoothly and dries quickly for chic sophistication or bold drama. The paddle-shaped tip gives you two glamorous looks in one: thick and dramatic, or fine and elegant, so you can dial up the drama to suit your look

My Thoughts

The Max Factor Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Eyeliner is meant to have the intensity of a liquid eyeliner with the precision of a pencil. It’s unique applicator looks paddle shaped and the tip is quite rounded and not pointy like other liners on the market.

8940442288158

The flat, thick paddle like side allows for a thicker, darker and more dramatic line and the actual tip/edge creates a softer line very close to the lash line. I use the tip for a guideline and the flat paddle to create and fill in my flick on the outer lash line. I found the tip works best to line my inner and middle lash line and it also helps to create a guideline on the outer edge before I use the paddle to gradually build the line from thin to thicker on the outer edge, creating a super dramatic look. I also love using the paddle bit to create a thicker line and flick all over for a more dramatic and striking look.

12991072_1558862304406453_4670377764136147615_n.jpg

Is it super black? Yes and no! You would think this eyeliner was a felt tip pen and I’ve found it does dry out pretty fast just like a felt tip would. The flatter, paddle side definitely creates a very black look but it starts out very black and gradually fades. Which is a shame. Somehow when using the thinner tip, the liquid liner appears off-black like a felt tip pen would when it is running out of ink. I have noticed that this liquid liner fades from one end to the other which results in more than one application. See pic below…

12990961_1558862161073134_2779055770765532420_n (2)

One good thing about the liquid liner is when I have my desired look I have found it to be long-lasting and it does stay put without the need for re-application.

After applying two or three applications I must say I do like the finished look. I have other liquid eyeliner that are more intense, more precise and a deeper shade of black but I ‘m loving the velvety, smoky look I’ve achieved. I especially love how it’s long lasting but I’d love the eyeliner much more if it was as precise as Maxfactor make out. Although it’s not my number one liquid eyeliner – I will definitely use it again, as I love how pretty my eyes look with it on.

I’ll give the MAXFACTOR Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Liner 3.5 stars out of 5! 😊

Here’s the end result.

13007228_1558880617737955_7213225741576845750_n

I’m also wearing one coat of FIBERGENICS mascara on my eyelashes and my vegan friendly black eyeliner by Essential Care which I got in my LoveLula subscription box. 😊

If you’d like to buy MAXFACTOR’S High Precision Liquid Liner click here to buy online at Superdrug⭐ It’s £7.99! 😊

Thanks for taking the time to read my review girls!

Hope you all have a beautiful day. Mwah 😘

12439358_1557653731193977_161839964873105000_n

I’m really loving this little beautiful lip colour. It is a gorgeous hot pink ‘chubby’ lip crayon that is super creamy and rich and glides on effortlessly giving a glossy finish. The Lip Chubby is enriched with a blend of natural plant waxes and oils to moisturise the lips. This ‘Make Me Beautiful Lip Chubby’ is from NEXT and is £8 to buy, there are eight other shades to choose from too. The Lip Chubby’s from NEXT are very similar to Clinique’s Chubby Sticks which retail at around £17. This will definitely be a spring/summer favourite for me! I might even purchase some other shades. Leighton Denny Expert Nails Miracle Mist – (FULL SIZED PRODUCT)

12974448_1557653734527310_8124912149921086062_n

Leighton Denny’s Miracle Mist is a convenient aerosol spray bottle that quickly speeds up polish drying time. A spray that dries wet nail polish!? I’ll have me some of that. 👌 No more waiting for nails to dry or reapplying due to smudging! The ‘Miracle Mist’ conditions cuticles as well. 😍 It sounds too good to be true doesn’t it. I’ll admit I probably wouldn’t buy this in store but nonetheless, I can’t wait to try it out! 💅

The Miracle Mist retails at £11 for 75 ml bottle. You can get some here.

Temporary White Henna Tattoos From STYLondon – (FULL SIZED PRODUCT)

13012601_1557654494527234_3920396729351360827_n

The tattoo’s I received are called ‘Casablanca’. They are white temporary henna tattoo’s in different designs and have bits of gold speckles here and there. They are so pretty! 😍😍😍 ver…but I’ll never use them! These would look fabulous at music festivals so if you’re a festival goer… snap some up! The tattoo’s are easy to apply and can be easily removed with olive oil or baby oil. They are so gorge and quirky and they have a stunning design but sadly they are not my kind of thing!

They retail at £6 from STYLondon and there are lots of other temporary henna designs to choose from. Take a look!

Brow Lift Perfecting Liner From Studio 10 – (FULL SIZED PRODUCT)

12991029_1557654491193901_4666202614571783089_n

This is my favourite product from April’s Box! The Brow Lift Perfecting Liner from Studio 10 is a double-ended eyebrow pencil that works equally well on all hair shades and skin tones. The smudge-proof formula stays put – so there’s no need to worry about eyebrow pencil all over your forehead and eyelids as the day goes by. The actual colour of the brow liner is kinda taupe-greyish-brownishy and it is possible to build your desired shade intensity depending on your preference. The flesh-toned highlighter is great for brightening the brow bone and enhancing your brow shape. It is enriched with vitamin E too.

The Brow Lift Perfecting Liner from Studio 10 is £22 to buy. (What’s great is for every Brow Lift Perfecting Liner sold – Studio 10 will donate one to the cancer charity ‘Look Good Feel Better’ in a bid to help women feel confident about their appearance again.)

Spirit Animal Blog Award ❤

C__Data_Users_DefApps_AppData_INTERNETEXPLORER_Temp_Saved Images_untitled

Hi all… ❤

I’ve been nominated for the Spirit Animal Award by my lovely friend over at Pal Fitness... Thank-you so much Paul. 😊

The rules of this award are:

1) Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their page.

2) Post the award picture on your blog.

3) Write a paragraph about yourself and what your blog means to you.

4) If you could be any animal what would it be?

5) Pick and notify ten nominees.

About Me

I love make-up but I have a skin disorder called psoriasis which restricts me from using some beauty products on my skin. I started this blog to kinda be a guinea pig for other psoriasis sufferers, testing beauty products, treatments and natural remedies for the skin. Having psoriasis has affected me in so many ways, dropping out of beauty school is one. Boooo! I’m trying my best to use natural, organic beauty products in replacement to those full of harmful chemicals – so I write a lot about natural and gentle beauty products. My aim is to become 100 % vegan one day. I’ve tried so many times and it’s pretty tough. I’m a big nature and animal lover and a member of WWF, Dogs Trust and RSPB. – I have two Patterdale Terrier dogs named Bella & Marley A.K.A The ASBO dogs. As well as make-up, hair and skincare I love to blog about DIY crafts and sewing projects inspired by Pinterest.

That’s all for now! Dont want to bore you anymore. Haha!

If I could be any animal…

It would be the wolf. I’m fascinated by them. There was a time I wanted to be a zoologist and I was going to pick the wolf as my main animal to study. So yep, if I could be any animal I would be a wolf. 👌 Crazy, fierce and beautiful!

My ten nominees are:

A Kinder Way

Perfectly Polished x

Breaking The P Silence

Wild Flower Make-Up

Hi Glitter Dolls!

These past few weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of trying a couple of gorgeous glitter shades from Beauty Boulevard’s Glitter Lips collection. I love anything and everything that sparkles and glitters – so you can imagine how much fun I’ve had blingin’ my lips up!

👄 Ultra Glam 👄

Today is all about the flirty, fabulous and fluorescent shade known by the name ‘ULTRA GLAM’ which is a vivid lilac colour with subtle lavender tones and the slightest shimmer of gold.

WP_20150114_04_00_51_Pro

Out of all the shades I have previously reviewed – ‘Ultra Glam’ is by far the brightest, most daring and eye-catching colour I’ve had on my lips. It is definitely a Glitter Lips shade for the super confident who like their lip colour to be as bold and vibrant as their personality! If this sounds like you, then girlie… ‘Ultra Glam’ is your colour.

The gorgeous neon lavender colour will look amazing teamed with kohl or liquid liner and voluminous black lashes. It would brighten up a little black dress beautifully too – adding a pop of colour to your outfit!

Here’s how ‘ULTRA GLAM’ looks on the lips! 😍

WP_20160119_15_12_43_Pro

The entire collection of the Glitter Lips shades are waterproof, smudge proof, kiss proof and party proof! Basically – everything proof!! You could binge-drink as many rosé wines as you want, eat like a pig, snog all night long and party hard like a rock star and the glitter will not budge. Did I mention slobber proof?… Yep… Ha! For you droolers out there – you could sleep like a baby for a week and your lips will stay glitter-licious. No sh!t.

The gloss bond has absolutely amazing staying power – unlike any other lipsticks. EVER!

Cherry Pie – Glitter Lips By Beauty Boulevard ❤

Hello Girls! 😘

As you know, I’ve done a few posts in the past about Glitter Lips by Beauty Boulevard. Everytime I try a new shade of theirs, I have a new favourite Glitter Lips, ha. I’m such a snide off!

Well there was one shade that I didn’t really FAVE much. I’ll be honest – Diamond In The Buff really wasn’t my colour, I thought my complexion was much too pale for it.

But the other shades… LOVE!

6tag_190116-105254

My favourite was ‘Ruby Slippers’ for quite a while but when I tried ‘Molly Dolly’ that became my favourite instead! 😂

Well girls, my new favourite Glitter Lips shade is now ‘Cherry Pie’ 😍. I cannot cope with how pretty it is. It’s definitely the sexiest Glitter Lips shade that I have tried so far.

6tag_240116-063633

First impression – before I put it on, I thought the ‘Cherry Pie’ glitter dust was similar to ‘Ruby Slippers’ in colour, just a little more pinky. When I tried it on though, it was deep pink with slight speckles of purple shining through when any light hit my lips.

6tag_240116-063525

I fell in LOVE with it straight away. ❤ It’s kind of pinky, purple, almost plum/ maroon and it reminds me of the Autumn/Winter ‘shades’ of lipstick that make your lips look ‘wine stained’, only with glitter added! I’d say it was more gothic than the other shades I’ve tried but still very pretty and girly.

6tag_240116-063552

‘Cherry Pie’ is a very glamorous colour and would look fab on all skin tones.

Pale or tanned. ❤

Here’s How It Looks on The Lips!

6tag_190116-145506

Now, because I have done three Glitter Lips reviews on my blog already, I thought I would not include the ‘how to apply and remove’ bit on this post as I feel like a parrot! 😂

Vintage Pretty – Glitter Lips By Beauty Boulevard ❤

Hey Glitter Dolls ❤

In this post I’ll be showing you the gorgeous shade ‘Vintage Pretty’ from Beauty Boulevard’s Glitter Lips collection. ❤

6tag_240116-074910

When I first saw the Vintage Pretty glitter dust, I weren’t sure how it was gonna look when it was applied as it was kinda two toned. But, when I put it on it was a lovely soft pink colour and super pretty. ‘Vintage Pretty’ is another one of my favourite Glitter Lips shades along with three others.

I mean come on… look how gorgeous it is! 😍

6tag_240116-075046

‘Vintage Pretty’ definitely lives up to its name. It looks darker in the pot than it does on the lips though. Think shabby chic, coral and dusky pink!

6tag_240116-075355

Although it’s still an eye-catching shade, it isn’t an in your face colour, so will be perfect for anyone who wants a pretty but toned down look or for girls who prefer a lighter shade rather than a bright one.

It’s just fab! I love it. ❤

6tag_240116-075630

This is how it looks on the lips!

Fibregenics 3 In 1 Mascara By Dreamweave & Co

Hey girls! 👍

Lately, I’m absolutely loving online beauty store, ‘To Make You Gorgeous’.  At the moment it is my favourite place to purchase all my beauty products. They have everything under one roof and it is the perfect website for make up and beauty lovers like myself.

After my Lip Voltage review, I was asked to review the latest product by Dreamweave & Co, which I’m really excited about as I love Dreamweave & Co mascara’s. The one I’m reviewing today is a 3 In 1 Direct Bond Mascara, designed as a one step fibre mascara with a direct bonding system.

12189552_1508216632804354_140334617837845196_n

No mess, no fuss, just thick, luscious lashes with the false lash effect. The Fibergenics 3 In 1 Mascara is about to take the beauty industry by storm and once you have seen my pics, you will understand why. This direct bond mascara seriously adds length to even the shortest of eyelashes!

The Fibregenics mascara is already loved by celebrities such as the TOWIE’s Francesca Parkman and the beautiful Binky from Made In Chelsea.

Dreamweave & Co

Dreamweave & Co is well known for its mascara’s and I’ve used a few of them already.  I knew before I had even tried the Fibergenics Mascara that it would be something to shout about as the results of the Dreamweave mascara’s I’ve tried in the past have always been pretty impressive. Like all Dreamweave products, the Fibregenics Mascara will no doubt be as popular as Lip Voltage was, back when the lip plumper first hit the beauty scene.

Not Tested On Animals

First thing I did before using the mascara was to check if it was animal friendly. Don’t worry, I’m not planning on giving my dogs luscious, long lashes anytime soon! 😂 The mascara has not been tested on animals so I’m pleased about that. Why should an animal suffer just so us humans can look beautiful, eh! 😊

The Contents

First of all, I’ll tell you about the packaging. It is so pretty! They say you should not judge a book by its cover but I’m a sucker for pretty covers and if a product has fabulous packaging – I’m definitely more inclined to purchase it. Call me shallow! 😂

The mascara comes in a black and silver metallic effect box. The front of the box is kind of like a mirror and it is possible to put your mascara on and use the box as a mirror, ha-ha. It is not as clear as a real mirror but you can certainly see your reflection.

On the back of the box you have a list of ingredients and inside the box is a little instructions leaflet and of course, the Fibergenics Mascara which is in a black case with silver writing in a pretty font.

12208380_1508216576137693_1631001761898756698_n

My Results After Using Fibregenics

I started out by cleansing my face and lashes as I wanted a blank canvas to apply the mascara to. After one coat, my eyelashes were much longer and thicker without looking too fake. They looked very lush and natural after applying three coats but I continued building them up and I was pretty amazed at how long they were getting. In my before pic you can see how short and blonde my lashes were. I think there is a huge difference as you can see. In my before pic my eyes appear tired and lifeless looking to me. The mascara has certainly brightened my eyes up. I actually look like a girl now! Ha-ha. 👸

11707418_1508210652804952_5349321691748486832_n

I do love how the brush is not one of those useless wands that many make-up brands seem to be using nowadays. I prefer an old fashioned, basic mascara brush and Dreamweave certainly seem to know what type of mascara wand most of us ladies like to use.

12193803_1508237786135572_9119874066147133171_n

At the moment I have dyed jet black hair and eyebrows but naturally, I’m quite fair skinned with fair hair. My eyebrows and lashes are practically see through so I love to use ultra black mascara to make my invisible lashes stand out. Fibregenics gives a deep black coating to my lashes from root to tip. No more baldy appearing eyelashes! 😂

12227587_1508210692804948_8183539204856429372_n

My lashes are quite short in length but when I apply a really good mascara, they can look like I am wearing individual lashes. That is why I love Fibregenics! My lashes have gone from being transparent and non existent to long, thick and dark and I really do have the false lash effect after using Fibregenics. I am shocked at how long they are! Especially compared to before.

12208372_1508210646138286_6141383137946353655_n

I have green-blue eyes and the colour of them definitely stands out after applying Fibregenics. It makes my eyes pop and the lash colour contrasts the colour of my eyes perfectly. I love how they look. I will definitely be using this mascara from now on and I’ve already recommended it to my friends who have also got theirs from tomakeyougorgeous.co.uk.

WARNING! ⚠

Important advice for you all –  don’t go overboard when building your lashes up. At one point I got a little greedy and may have applied too much. Hello spider eyes! So with every coat of the Fibregenics Mascara that you apply, make sure you take a look at your lashes before you add more mascara to them. If you do apply too much, you will end up with clumpy eyelashes so be cautious! A little goes a long way!

Also, keep some cotton buds at your side when applying the mascara. If you’re anything like me you will need them to remove mascara from your skin! I’m so messy, ha-ha.

Check out Icon Fashion House to see the Fibregenics video review on YouTube.

How To Apply

12208394_1077010168977803_2507846448720928860_n

Simply apply like you would with any mascara. Sweep the mascara brush upwards from root to tip, grasping each lash to attach the unique fibre bonding system. Coat from every angle, to achieve desired effect. Once applied, I personally like to touch up the ends of my lashes only to achieve maximum length.

TIP: Add some Black Kohl Eyeliner to your inner lashline and/or Black Liquid Eyeliner to your top lash line for extra gorgeousness!

Lip Voltage | To Make You Gorgeous ❤

Hello ladies!

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! I’m so happy… x

tomakeyougorgeous.co.uk have sent me my absolute favourite lip product of all time. Can you guess what it is?

12193361_1507283776230973_4485879301122076173_n

Yes, I’ve been sent Lip Voltage! Woohoo! Lip Voltage, in my opinion is the best thing since sliced bread… If you have seen my photograph’s you’re probably thinking I don’t need to plump my lips as they are kinda big already.

The reason I love wearing Lip Voltage is not to make my lips bigger as much, but instead more fuller and even. Let’s face it! My bottom lip is like a dingy boat, haha. If I was stranded at sea, I reckon I would be pretty safe. It’s huge compared to my top lip. So I like to make my top lip a little fuller with Lip Voltage so the overall appearance of my lips seem more even.

If my bottom lip was the same size as my top lip you would say I had skinny lips! If my top lip was the same size as my bottom lip I would probably be close to Angelina Jolie lips. God damn you top lip you have ruined my life! 😂 So yeah, basically, I wear Lip Voltage to plump up my anorexic top lip so its closer in size to my chunky bottom lip.

Where Have You Been All My Life

I’ve been trying to get hold of some lip voltage for ages. Without any luck. It seems most websites who advertise that they sell it, no longer do or say it is out of stock until further notice. Many websites’ have said they would e-mail me as soon as it’s back in stock, but they never have. I figure I’ll be a 90-year-old woman before they get around to it!

I searched google and after clicking on a few websites, I was quickly back on my Lip Voltage search after discovering there wasn’t any available to buy. A few years back when Lip Voltage was at its most popular, sweeping the female nation, it was fairly easy to find a supplier. But, nowadays it seems to have vanished!

So, can you imagine how happy I was when I found out To Make You Gorgeous had some in stock.

What, Why, How & When

I’m sure most of you are aware what Lip Voltage is. For those who aren’t, I’m going to fill you in on the basics and hopefully help you to understand what Lip Voltage is, why you should use it and of course, how to use it! So, here goes…

What is Lip Voltage

Lip Voltage is a plumping lip gloss made by Dreamweave & Co. It is a non-injectable lip plumper. It is a quick absorbing peptide lip treatment, using Nano technology to fill and give volume to the lips. You can control how much plump you want in your pout by literally ‘mixing up’ the voltage of this duo lip product.

By adding a VBE* infused lip plumper to the peptide treatment, mixing the formula together to achieve your desired ‘voltage’.

The combined ingredients increases the blood flow to your lips, mimicking the effects of hot chilli peppers.

*VBE (Vanillyl Butyl Ether) is a chemical formulation that induces an enduring, gentle warming and enhanced microcirculation to enhance and plump the lips.

You can customise the strength of the voltage to low, medium and high voltage, which boosts the plumping effect in just a few drops!

Lip Voltage comes in a small box containing  peptide in clear case with a wand applicator, which basically looks like a regular lip gloss. A syringe filled with VBE* serum is included as well as instructions. It is very important that first time users read the instructions before using the product.

12193585_1507283799564304_9101829037143872626_n

Why Do People Use Lip Voltage

There are lots of reasons why somebody would use Lip Voltage. The main one obviously being to achieve bigger lips.
Myself personally, as mentioned above, use it to make both my top and bottom lip similar in size. It’s also used to make skinny lips appear bigger, bigger lips more even and uneven lips more fuller.

The great thing about Lip Voltage is with frequent use over time, the treatment eventually builds collagen in your lips to create softer, fuller lips. So another reason people use Lip Voltage is to gradually improve the look of the lips even when not wearing the product.

I also think people use it as an alternative to cosmetic surgery. I certainly do! Many people simply cannot afford lip fillers and if like myself, they are PETRIFIED of needles. So instead of having lip injections to make their lips bigger, people choose the cheaper, safer and easier alternative by plumping their lips with Lip Voltage instead.

Beauty is pain, yes! But, when it comes down to needles, frankly, I’m a big wimp! So, hooray for Lip Voltage! 😊

How To Use Lip Voltage

12107037_1507283829564301_6880158423392921107_n

After reading the instructions that come with the Lip Voltage, take the VBE serum (syringe) and apply one drop into the peptide (lip gloss).  Place the applicator wand back into the gloss and mix for about 60 seconds and you’re ready to go….

Now use the Lip Voltage gloss on your lips like you would a normal lip gloss, paying more attention to the area’s you specifically want plumping. Within a minute or so you will see that the Voltage is working and will definitely feel it working!

TIP – Apply some Lip Voltage above the cupids bow for more dramatic results.

WARNING ⚠

Please don’t make the same mistake as me when I first used it a few years back. I wasn’t sure how much serum to put into the gloss so I asked who I thought was my intelligent boyfriend to put the serum into the gloss for me. The end results basically concluded that I was the brains in our relationship as the dope accidentally put the whole of the serum into the gloss.

His excuse was he thought that all of the serum should go into the gloss! NO, NO, NO! 😂

So, when he handed me the mixed Lip Voltage I didn’t know he had put it all in! 😂 Can you imagine my face! My lips felt like I had a volcano erupting on my lips. It was so bad. What he done was a sackable offence. He really should count himself lucky that I didn’t dump his ass! 😂

So, ladies. Don’t get a man to mix the Voltage for you. They are brain-dead! 😂 Do it yourself! Be gentle when putting the serum into the peptide gloss as it comes out pretty quick and if you press too hard on the syringe, more serum will come out than intended. 😊

After You Have Applied Lip Voltage

Actually mixing it and using it, is not the difficult part. The hardest part is keeping it on  after you’ve applied it. Ha-ha.

I’m not going to lie to you lady’s… IT HURTS LIKE A BITCH! 👊

Imagine rubbing hot chilli powder over your lips. Imagine your lips being on fire! 😂 Pretty much, this is how it feels. But, the feeling is over within ten minutes so don’t be put off!

So keep this in mind when applying the VBE serum to the peptide gloss. The more drops you apply to the gloss, the more intense the chilli sensation is, so one drop first before increasing slowly if you desire more voltage.

A Little Guideline

The more Voltage drops you apply, the more it will hurt! So I really wouldn’t recommend adding more than three drops. One drop doesn’t affect me but I can definitely feel the burn after using three drops.

1 Drop – Low Voltage

2 Drops – Medium Voltage

3 Drops – High Voltage

4+ Drops – Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh!!!

It does sting for a while after applying the Lip Voltage but the sensation stops after around ten minutes. So just wait it out. Man up and handle the chilli feeling. 👊

Period pain is much worse! 😉😂

Here are my before and after pictures… Eat your heart out Kylie Jenner 😂😂😂

12208326_1507272622898755_5875824774038118704_n12196118_1507272606232090_3302840749574026940_n

So ladies I hope you have enjoyed reading my Lip Voltage Review. Remember, whether you want a plumped-up perfected pout, or simply natural, soft, beautiful lips, Lip Voltage lets you mix it up and plump it up for the lips you’ve always wanted!

This really is one beauty must-have at the top of every ladies wish-list. A big favourite with women, celebrities and make-up artists worldwide.

If you would like to buy some Lip Voltage for yourself then head over to tomakeyougorgeous.co.uk to snap some up. It is only £13.99 to buy. Bargain, eh!

Oh and if any of my male followers are reading, boyfriends’, husbands’ and fiancées’ – Little bit of advice for you…  buy her something she will love… Lip Voltage is the perfect gift for us ladies, especially makeup lovers like myself and with Christmas coming up, instead of buying a predictable gift for the special lady in your life, this year, be a star and surprise her with some Lip Voltage on Christmas morning… I guarantee you will put a smile on her face. You will certainly put a pout on her face, no doubt about that! 😉

Review: Diamond In The Buff – Glitter Lips By Beauty Boulevard

11034041_1510566342569383_8536504799642955678_n

I love Glitter Lips by Beauty Boulevard. I’ve tried Ruby Slippers before which I absolutely loved (I’m a red lippie kinda girl) and I’ve just tried the sparkling ‘Diamond In The Buff’.

I can’t wait to test the other shades out and one day I will be a confirmed glitterholic and will have tried all 17 shades (2 down, 15 to go) 😘

Diamond in the buff is a pretty sparkly lip colour from the Glitter Lips collection, quite neutral and not as shocking compared to the fabulous, Ruby Slippers. It did have a green undertone (which I didn’t like one bit) when I applied too much and I was advised by the lovely lady at Beauty Boulevard to apply a THIN coating of Glitter Dust after the bond glue has dried. If you apply too much of Diamond In The Buff Glitter dust, YOU WILL END UP WITH GREEN LIPS. Not attractive. So remember to use sparingly. If you don’t go overboard with the glitter dust it will look beautiful! ❤

This shade is great for those who aren’t as daring as my fellow Ruby Slippers admirer’s and is also fab for both a toned down daytime look or a pretty evening look teamed with smoky eyes and false eyelashes for a night out with the girls. Your little princess would also love this colour and would go perfectly with her princess dress for fancy dress parties. We all know how little girls love to dress up and what princess doesn’t love glitter. (On children, I suggest using a little Vaseline or lip balm in replacement of the bonding glue)

I do think Glitter Lips by beauty Boulevard has more glitter included than bonding glue in their boxes but it all depends on how much glitter dust you actually apply.

Inside the box:

😊  APPLICATOR BRUSH

😊 GLITTER LIPS GLOSS BOND

😊 PREMIUM GLITTER SHADE DIAMOND IN THE BUFF

There are 17 different Glitter Lips shade’s (and counting) to choose from and is available to buy on the Beauty Boulevard website – it is £12.50 to buy. (Link to website is below)

12279211_1510566365902714_2581733025252177516_n

For those who haven’t read my last review of Ruby Slippers – Glitter Lips, which included a little how to apply paragraph, here goes lovelies’.

Ensure lips are clean, dry and moisturised (no chapped lips) – TIP – Apply one lip at a time.

    1. Keeping lips parted, apply the gloss. Allow the gloss to turn from white to gleam. (apply gloss as you would do lip-gloss)
    2. Apply glitter generously to the lips, ensuring an even coverage. (thinly for Diamond In The Duff) – TIP – Dampen applicator pad to help lift glitter.
    3. Dust off excess glitter and you are ready to go. – TIP – Remove with an oil based makeup remover.

untitleduhuhuhubSo my overall thought about Diamond In The Duff –   pretty, sparkling pink, gold, green and silver colour’s, neutral and very girly but I must admit I still prefer my beloved Ruby Slippers which is rose-red, bold and certainly eye-catching. Click Here To Read The Ruby Slippers Review

Glitter Lips By Beauty Boulevard. It is definitely a beauty essential that every girl should have in their make-up bag! With 17 shades to choose from, there is a colour for everyone. Ultra Glam!!
