Dr. Botanicals – Coconut Oil Rejuvenating Body Exfoliating Bar Review

About two months ago, Dr. Botanicals, a vegan friendly, cruelty-free skincare brand, sent me one of their Coconut Oil Rejuvenating Body Exfoliating Bars to review on my blog. I’ve got quite a few of Dr. Botanicals products which I’ve been sent over the last year or so and they are one of my fave skincare brands. All of their products are vegan friendly and cruelty free and they contain no harsh ingredients that irritate sensitive skin just natural, quality, skin-loving ingredients which are kind to skin (and animals).

WP_20180411_13_38_35_Pro

‘Hydrate, Cleanse and Gently Exfoliate. Shredded coconut gently exfoliates the skin while coconut oil moisturises the skin and creamy coconut aroma works to unwind your mind.‘ Dr. Botanicals.

First Impressions:

The soap comes in a small, cardboard box which is recyclable and eco-friendly. No plastic in sight. Inside the box is the 100g soap bar, which is square-shaped, beigey-brown in colour and it has a gorgeous, creamy, natural coconut aroma.

WP_20180411_21_20_52_Pro

The main active ingredient in the soaps formulation is Shell Powder, which contains nutrients like collagen, chondroitin, glucosamine, and hyaluronic acid. It has anti-oxidant activity which protects the skin from free radical damage and also has moisture holding properties which smooth and hydrate the skin. Dr. Botanicals say the soap can be used on the face as well as the body and hands although I haven’t used it on my face, as I’ve had severe breakouts in the past after washing my face with soap, so never again.

Thoughts:

This soap smells AMAZING! I love everything coconut so it’s no surprise that I love this soap, coconut products have done wonders for my skin in the past and I couldn’t recommend them enough for sensitive skin.

Dr. Botanicals say the soap helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells but I don’t find it to be exfoliating at all. Maybe the exfoliation is too gentle for my skin type. It is a super moisturising, hydrating soap though and after using my skin feels clean, smoother and soft. It lathers okay for a natural soap too.

My followers will know that I have psoriasis and I believe this soap has been so gentle and mild on my skin – it hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin and it hasn’t made my psoriasis any worse, which I think is down to the natural ingredients and the fact doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals. It’s also a long-lasting soap as well, I’ve been using mine for over two months now and although it has withered down a little there is still a lot left.

So, I love the soap – but I don’t like the price tag. All of Dr. Botanicals products are a bit on the expensive side, I wish they weren’t as I love their products! I don’t know about you guys but nearly 20 quid for a soap is not something I’d pay to be honest! Don’t get me wrong,  I have no complaints – it’s gentle, vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, natural, moisturising and it doesn’t dry the skin out, but, I wouldn’t repurchase for £20.

Totally out of my soap budget, ha.

Review: Dr. Botanicals – Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil | Vegan Friendly & Cruelty-Free Skincare

Dr. Botanicals, a vegan friendly skincare brand, sent me some of their Moroccon Rose Superfood Facial Oil to try out and review on my blog. The oil is completely natural, vegan friendly and cruelty-free and it is infused with plant extracts, antioxidants, vitamins, essential oils and botanical extracts to help brighten dull skin, protect it, renew and even out skin tone. It also contains high levels of Vitamins A and C which rejuvenate the skin and helps to reduce visible signs of ageing.

DR BOTANICALS - MOROCCAN ROSE SUPERFOOD FACIAL OIL REVIEW

The main active ingredients in the formulation are:

Vitamin Chelps to stimulate collagen production, for younger-looking skin.
Vitamin A – a powerful antioxidant with aims to rejuvenate skin, even skin tone and reduce the signs of ageing; while protecting from free radicals.
Almond Oil – deeply moisturises and nourishes skin, whilst brightening the complexion for brighter fresh looking skin.

First Impressions:

The Moroccan Facial Oil comes in a eco-friendly, recyclable cardboard box – the packaging is nothing special but it is good for our environment. It lists the full ingredients in super tiny writing on the bottom of the box – which I can’t read even with my glasses on. It has the cruelty-free bunny printed on the box too. Inside is the Facial Oil which comes in a 15ml glass bottle with a simple label and a black screw-off dropper lid. The oil itself is clear and transparent with a slight rose-pink tint to it. Very pretty! It has a watery consistency and smells really nice too, kinda like a mild, subtle perfume, although it is not overpowering at all.  The oil has been recommended for dry skin especially but all skin types can use it even oily.

DR BOTANICALS MOROCCON FACIAL OILDR BOTANICALS MOROCCAN ROSE SUPERFOOD FACIAL OIL REVIEW

Thoughts:

I’ve been using it for a whole week so far and I’ve stopped using other products, just so I can see how it works my skin. My skin has been looking awful lately and I put it down to being lazy. I have been using throw away face wipes the last month or so instead of cleansing properly and although they come in handy every now and again, I don’t recommend using them as an everyday thing as I have found I break out and my skin gets really dry an dull-looking when I do.

This week I’ve ditched the wipes and I’ve been washing my face twice a day with the Wipe Out MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth from Magnitone London, which just requires water, no cleansers, gels, etc… and I’ve then been applying the oil every morning and every night. I use about 3-4 drops for my entire face and neck and in one week I’ve used just under 1/4 of the bottle, so I’m guessing the 15ml bottle will last me roughly over a month, maybe longer.

The Moroccan Facial Oil doesn’t behave like your average oil and it is kind of a dry oil although Dr.Botanicals haven’t said this. It doesn’t feel oily/greasy on the skin and it doesn’t leave a sticky residue either. It is super absorbent and I love how it dries into the skin within seconds, so no need to wait around for it to dry – one of my pet hates with facial oils.

Since using the facial oil, my dry patches and blemishes are starting to disappear and my skin doesn’t feel as tight, dry or look as dull as before – it has definitely brightened my complexion. I think with longer use my skin tone will look more even so I’m looking forward to that as uneven skin tone is something I’ve struggled with since day one. Ditching the face wipes, cleansing with a microfiber cloth and using this pure goodness oil on my skin has definitely improved its appearance and done it the world of good. I’ll update this post in a few weeks when I have give it more use.

I love Dr. Botanicals and I have their Tropical Invigorating Cream also which I love. The brand has definitely become a favourite of mine – I have been trying to use more cruelty-free brands the last few years and I prefer natural, gentle skincare products which are free-from nasty chemicals and that is what Dr. Botanicals is all about. They use top quality, natural ingredients in all of their products which are gentle on skin yet effective and they are completely cruelty-free, vegan friendly and free from animal by-products – animals should not have to suffer for our vanity and I think one day, hopefully, testing cosmetics on animals will be illegal and rightly so!

Dr Botanicals products are a bit on the expensive side but like I’ve said before, you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to skincare. Most of their products are a little out of my budget but I will definitely shop their products again – I’ll treat myself, hey and I’ll keep checking the website for sales and deals to grab myself a bargain!

Review: Pure African Black Soap – Mayka Skincare

Hey lovely ladies..

Back in October I was sent a bundle of natural skincare goodies from a British vegan skincare brand called Mayka Skincare. Mayka Skincare are a cruelty-free, natural brand who handcraft fresh products with natural botanicals and highly effective, active cosmetic ingredients. All of their products are handmade in Britain but they do offer worldwide shipping. When my parcel arrived I was chuffed to bits with the contents as I wasn’t expecting to receive so many products to review and I have been trying a few of them out for a couple of months.

MAYKA SKINCARE.jpg.png

The product I was most pleased with was the Pure African Black Soap which I have heard is amazing for skin complaints. As you all know I have psoriasis so I couldn’t wait to give it a go.

MAYKA SKINCARE AFRICAN BLACK SOAP.jpg.png

”Ordinary store-bought soaps can be too harsh or drying for your skin. African black soap is a gentle, all-natural alternative cleanser made only from plant materials. Proponents of African black soap say it does more than just keep you clean — the suds are packed with skin-loving benefits, too.” – LIVESTRONG

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

The 100g Soap comes in a cellophane wrapper with a Mayka Skincare label – the packaging is lovely, it has a natural feel to it and looks pretty enough to be given as a gift. Inside the packaging is the 100g Pure African Black Soap which I’ll admit doesn’t look very attractive but never judge a book by its cover hey. The soap is made from baked parts of the cocoa tree, unrefined butters and oils and is also rich in vitamins A and E. It is a beige, brownish colour and shaped into a ball and it doesn’t contain any artificial perfume, colours or preservatives either.

mayka skincare african black soap psoriasis.png

INGREDIENTS:

Sodium / potassium salts of fatty acids from edible vegetable oils: Sodium / Potassium Sheabutterate, Sodium / Potassium Palmkernelate, Sodium Potassium Cocoate, Glycerine, Aqua, Cocoa Bean Ash Residue

THOUGHTS:

I’ve been using the soap for about four months and I’m surprised I still have some of it left especially as I use it every day.

african black soap long lasting mayka skincare.png

I have never known a soap, never mind a natural soap to lather so well – and when washing with the soap it looks like I have a layer of cream on my skin. It is so creamy and moisturising and is also a great antiseptic soap which helps to prevent infection or bacteria on the skin. Since I’ve been using it, I have noticed an improvement in my skin, it hasn’t completely cleared my skin up but it has improved it a little and my psoriasis hasn’t gotten any worse. I’ve noticed it does sting my psoriasis at first but it’s not painful and the sensation eventually wears off after a few seconds and it’s worth it seeing as it helps to deep clean my skin, restore its natural barrier whilst moisturising and protecting it at the same time. I also use it on my face and I love how it removes every trace of oil and make-up from the skin without clogging my pores or drying out my skin and it is also a great anti-ageing soap as it is rich in vitamin A and E oils and helps to prevent premature lines and wrinkles.  The soap can also be used on the hair and scalp but I’ve not tried this yet but I will give it a go eventually and update the post.

The Pure African Black Soap is the perfect solution for problem skin such as oily, acne, eczema, psoriasis, dandruff and rosacea. I love how it is completely natural, cruelty free and contains no harsh chemicals or artificial ingredients which make it gentle on sensitive skin and also helps to improve skin disorders. I’m about to run out after four months but I will definitely purchase this soap again – I’d rather do my skin a favour and use a natural soap on my skin rather than a soap laden with chemicals and nasty ingredients which makes skin worse any day. Give the website a little visit girls – you won’t be disappointed. They do a huge range of cruelty-free, natural skincare products made with top quality ingredients that will help your skin. Natural is best!

DISCLOSURE: I was gifted this product from Mayka Skincare for review purposes only.

Review: Dr. Botanicals – Duo Moisturiser Tropical Invigorating Cream

I was kindly sent the Tropical Invigorating Cream from Dr. Botanicals to try out and review on my blog. Dr. Botanicals are a London-based natural & vegan skincare brand which are kind to skin as well as animals. The Tropical Invigorating cream is a duo moisturiser enriched with Elderflower which aims to protect the skin from free radical damage, it also contains Tiare Flower Extract which aims to deeply moisturise, nourish and purify the skin as well as Chaomile Flower Extract too which works to heal and soothe irritated and damaged skin.

dr botanicals invigorating cream

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The Tropical Invigorating Cream comes in a eco-friendly cardboard box which has lots of info printed on it about the cream, ingredients, etc… The cream itself comes in a flexible, metal tube which has a black screw lid. The packaging is gorgeous and the design on the tube is very pretty – it has what looks like gorgeous pink Adenium flowers all over the tube with forest green and aqua blue leaves too. It really is pretty packaging. The cream itself has a very mild, flowery scent which smells beautiful and it is a lightweight yet thick, non drip cream that spreads easy onto the skin.

dr botanicals invigorating cream1dr botanicals invigorating cream3

THOUGHTS:

The skin on my face has been awful lately and I recently broke out in angry blemishes all over my face, I’m not sure why or what caused me to break out but I’m glad that my skin has started to improve this week. I’ve been using Pure PotionsOmega Rich Cleansing Oil to cleanse my skin followed by a gentle Orange Blossom Water Toner from FoxBrim Naturals and then this duo moisturiser from Dr Botanicals. My skin has finally started to go back to normal since I have been using completely natural skincare products on my face.

So, I’ve been using the Tropical Invigorating Cream each morning and every night to moisturise my sensitive skin and I really do like it a lot. It is a gentle cream that contains no parabens or artificial ingredients which my skin always seems to react to. I love how it smells too and it doesn’t smell artificial or chemical-like at all – it has a lovely, subtle flowery scent which smells gorgeous and pretty although some may find it to be quite bland, I actually liked it.  A small dollop of the cream is enough for my entire face and neck so I’m guessing the 50 ml tube will last a while – I’d say about two or three months at the most if used daily. The cream glides over the skin like silk and I was very impressed with how long it took to absorb into the skin – like one minute, not even that. I hate waiting around for creams to dry so the fact that this cream dries quickly, gets a big thumbs up for that reason alone. The cream didn’t feel sticky or greasy either and it left my skin feeling softer and firmer. I noticed it moisturised my fine lines too and they don’t look as deep or prominent as before. Also, my skin looks a lot calmer and more balanced since I began using it and it doesn’t look red or irritated as it has been these past few weeks so I’m happy about that.

I really love that this is a vegan-friendly, cruelty-free moisturiser which is completely natural and I would love to try a few other products out from Dr. Botanicals, you really can’t go wrong with natural skincare products can you.

The only negative thing I have to say about the cream is the price tag. At £39.90 for a 50 ml tube I do think it is a bit on the expensive side and out of my usual budget for a moisturiser. I would definitely use this cream again although I doubt I’d repurchase it, simply because of the price. If the price was lowered I would 100% buy the Tropical Invigorating Cream again.

DISCLOSURE: This product was gifted to me for review purposes only. My opinion has not been influenced by the brand and this review is based on my own experience with the product.

WHERE TO BUY: You can buy the Tropical Invigorating Cream HERE for £39.90 from Dr. Botanicals’ website. You will get free delivery on all orders over £30 & you will receive a complimentary tote bag with every order over £50.

Review: Pure Potions – Skin Salvation Scalp Oil For Scalp #Psoriasis

I was sent a bundle of goodies from the award-winning, natural skincare brand Pure Potions last month to try out and share my thoughts about the products on my blog. I have already reviewed the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil and the Bath & Body Emollient Oil but today I’m gonna let you know how I got on with the Scalp Oil which I have been using to treat my scalp psoriasis.

22046537_1780392432253438_3361349410382190467_n

ABOUT THE SCALP OIL:

Skin Salvation Scalp Oil is a natural moisturising scalp treatment, formulated as an alternative to chemical shampoos which strip natural oils from the skin and can dry out sensitive scalps. The healthy balance of oils in the scalp is preserved by the Scalp Oil’s uncomplicated natural formulas and richly moisturising oils.  The Scalp Oil is a natural oil for itchy scalps and is also suitable for people who are prone to seborrhoeic dermatitis and scalp psoriasis. It is a vegan friendly, cruelty free oil that suits sensitive and allergy prone skin thanks to the 100% natural ingredients. It contains no perfumes, parabens, palm oil, SLS, phthalates, silicones, phenoxyethanol, PEGs, mineral oil, synthetics – and like it says on the bottle NO LIES! – Pure Potions do not greenwash their products like a lot of other ‘natural‘ skincare brands. The Scalp Oil was also the winner for the natural health / best eczema range at the 2017 International Beauty Awards so it has been recognized as an amazing product.

INGREDIENTS: Helianthus Annus (Sunflower Seed) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive Fruit) Oil, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Borage Officinalis (Borage) Oil, Stellaria, Media (Chickweed) Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract , Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Oil, Rosemarius Officinalis (Rosemary) Oil, Limonene from essential oils.

Borage Oil

Borage Officinalis OilThis oil replenishes the scalp with Gamma Linolenic acid (GLA) which enriches and moisturises the scalp.

Rosemary Oil

Rosemarius Officinalis OilThis oil increases the circulation to the scalp and also acts as a general conditioner and tonic for the hair and scalp.

Nettle

Nettle Oil/Urtica DioicaReduces inflammation and itching and is a natural antihistamine.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp Seed Oil/Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil: Extremely nourishing, moisturising, rich in essential fatty acids, which are often lacking in those with dry skin.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

The Scalp Oil comes in a dark green 50 ml glass bottle which has a white pump dispenser and a screw off lid. The packaging looks nice, fresh and simple and has lots of info about the ingredients and how to use, etc… printed on the label. The oil itself has a very, very runny consistency and is a transparent yellow in colour. On first impressions it smells kinda ‘minty’ thanks to the Rosemary Oil and ‘herby’ thanks to the Nettle Oil & Hemp Oil.

VERDICT

I did struggle at first with the dispenser – it had a clasp on the bottle neck which needs to be removed before you use it and I had trouble getting the nozzle to produce some oil but a simple turn clockwise sorted it out – the nozzle can also be ‘locked by turning it anti-clockwise. The first time I used the Scalp Oil I applied the oil to the whole of my scalp using the pump dispenser/nozzle. After applying the oil I was shocked to see that I had used half of the bottle after only using it once. I think I made a mistake by applying it all over my scalp instead of .just the areas with psoriasis. So, if you buy the oil use it only on your psoriasis to prevent wastage.

I found the oil itself really easy to use – I hold the bottle up to my scalp and just  press down on the nozzle/dispenser to dispense a little of the oil. Once I have applied the oil to every bump in my head, I then massage the oil into my scalp with my fingers and leave it on overnight. I think it is best to use the oil at night-time before bed so the oil can do its magic while you catch up on your beauty sleep. I’d also recommend you place a towel over your pillowcase to prevent any staining – I made my own DIY Towel Pillowcase made from a bath towel to stop the oil from ruining my lovely pillows. If you want a tutorial on how to make a towel pillowcase – let me know in the comments. My hair obviously feels greasy and oily after applying the Scalp Oil so when I wake up the next morning I jump into the shower and wash my hair with a natural, clarifying shampoo. I always make sure to shampoo twice to make sure the oil is washed out of my hair. I love the oil because it contains no nasty ingredients like parabens or SLS which I’m trying to cut out as I have found these ingredients make my skin and scalp a million times worse.

I have darkest black hair and it sometimes looks like I have really bad dandruff when my scalp starts to flake so I’m hoping that the more I use this oil, the better my scalp psoriasis will get and people will eventually stop touching my hair and telling me ‘you have something in your hair’ ha ha! After using the Scalp Oil about five times now – my scalp has started to feel calmer and it has soothed my itchy skin, the oil also nourishes my hair too and after washing it off, my hair feels so soft and healthy. I still have my scalp psoriasis and the oil hasn’t cleared it up but it has definitely softened a couple of bumpy scales and moisturised my scalp by giving it a little TLC & relief.

DISCLOSURE: I was sent this product free of charge for review purposes. I have not been paid for this review and the words in this post are my own and have not been influenced by the brand in any way.

WHERE TO BUY: You can get the Scalp Oil HERE from the Pure Potions website.

Review: N.O.P Cosmetics – Happy Feet Soft Touch Foot Peel Mask For Hard Skin & Dry, Cracked Heels

Exactly two weeks and one day ago I used one of the Happy Feet Soft Touch Foot Peel Masks for the first time from a company from Amazon UK called N.O.P Cosmetics. I get hard skin on the heels of my feet and I absolutely hate how dry and ugly they look and how rough and rubbery they feel – my boyfriend thinks he is hilarious and likes to call me ‘leather feet’ which I don’t find one bit funny at all! HA! I was so happy when I was asked to review the Foot Peeling Masks on my blog and I put them on as soon as they arrived because I was excited and interested to see if they would really work and help to make my feet feel soft and smooth again and remove the hard skin from my heels.

foot peel maskss

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The Happy Feet Soft Touch Foot Peeling Mask is a foot mask rich in Pomegranate Oil and helps to moisturise by softening hard skin and healing and soothing dry, cracked heels. N.O.P claim the foot masks are 100% natural and organic skincare products but the ingredients list is jibberish so I don’t know about that for sure. The masks come in a little box and the packaging is lovely although there are a few grammar mistakes printed on the box – not something you’d expect to see from a product that costs £20. For example they have listed TWELVE as an ingredient??? I’m pretty sure there are no ingredients named twelve… ha ha. Anyway, moving on… there are two foot peeling masks included in the box and they both come in their own silver foil pouches which help to keep the moisture in so they stay fresh. The masks themselves look like huge plastic white socks and there are four ‘socks’ altogether so enough for two applications – the inside of the ‘socks’ have like a gel lotion and they also have a nice, fresh and fruity scent which I really like.

INGREDIENTS: Water, Glycerin, Sodium Lactate, TWELVE?, Trehalose,  Pomegranate Seed Oil, Golden Chamomile, Witch Hazel, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Collagen, Triathanolamine, Matchyl Isobutyl Katona, Iodine, Butyl Alcohol, Butyl Carbamate, Allantoin, Essence, Licorice, Permeation Sodium Hyaluronate and Botanical Extracts.

foot peel masks

foot peel mask

HOW TO USE: The foot mask is very easy to use – I just teared open one of the sachets and took the pair of plastic socks out. They were attached together so I took a pair of scissors and cut down the middle so I had two individual socks. After making sure my feet were clean and dry I went ahead and put the socks over my feet. There is a sticky tab at the top of each sock to help keep them secure but I just tied a hair bobble around my ankles to make them feel even more secure. I did try to walk in them which was a big mistake, the socks started to slip off my feet and I was slipping everywhere so if you do buy these try not to walk whilst wearing them because you might fall and hurt yourself – wear a normal pair of socks over the masks to prevent this. I kept the socks on for 90 minutes as recommended  – I wore mine whilst chilling watching Netflix and I forgot I even had them on.

22788715_1790355107923837_7501245436920391455_n

VERDICT: After the recommended time was up I took off the socks and washed the leftover residue off my feet and made sure they were dry. I was impressed with the results and my skin felt really soft and smoother. The masks didn’t get rid of my hard skin completely but it did a great job at softening them and they didn’t feel as leathery as they did before so I was chuffed about that and thought I was onto a winner. The masks didn’t irritate my psoriasis either. Apparently, after two weeks of using the foot mask you should start to see your skin peeling and shredding old skin which will allow new, softer skin to grow instead. I was a little bit disappointed at this. I waited two whole weeks for my skin to start peeling and felt let down when it didn’t. I have a few odd patches where it looks like it may be about to peel but nothing like I was expecting – I thought that every bit of skin on my soles would peel but it never happened, not even a little bit. I think I’ll put the other foot mask on tomorrow and wait another two weeks once again so I will update this post with the results. I hope to see some peeling second time round!

THOUGHTS: I like the Soft Touch Foot Mask, it’s softened the hard skin on my heels and the skin on my feet feels smoother even after two weeks of using it but I’m still disappointed because my skin didn’t peel like it was supposed to – after all it does say it is a ‘foot peel mask’ so that is what I was expecting. I do think it is overpriced a little bit too – especially as it hasn’t done what it is supposed to do – yet and like I mentioned above the grammar mistakes on the box – I know this doesn’t affect the product itself but still. So, it really does help to soften the skin but I reckon you could achieve the same results using less expensive products such as a natural pomegranate oil, a castor oil or maybe a good quality exfoliating scrub like this Arabica Coffee Scrub from Art Naturals which I have reviewed HERE if you want to have a read.

DISCLOSURE: This product was gifted to me for review purposes.

WHERE TO BUY: You can buy the Happy Feet Soft Touch Foot Peel Mask HERE for £10.99. When I was first sent this product it was priced at £19.99 and I’ve just noticed that the price has been reduced.

Review: Monu Skin – Firming Fiji Facial Oil For Dry, Sensitive & Mature Skin

I got a generous 30 ml sample size of the Firming Fiji Facial Oil from Monu Skin in my September Glossybox and I have been using it every day since – I really, really like it and I will def be getting the full size when this bottle is empty!

Sorry in advance for the low quality images – my camera is broke!

21687558_1779239372368744_1984170333418644639_n

22728954_1790251654600849_2245335228179283232_n

For those of you who don’t know already, Monu Skin are a natural, cruelty-free skincare brand based in the UK and all of their products contain zero parabens, no artificial ingredients and no harsh chemicals. I’ve never had anything from Monu before and I do love my natural, cruelty-free skincare products so I’ve been very excited about this facial oil and was looking forward to trying it out on my sensitive, dull and ageing skin. I’m 30 years old now, still young I know but I’m at that stage in my life where you start to notice fine lines and wrinkles appearing on your face for the first time.  I’m gutted that my skin is not as firm or plump as it was in my teens and twenties so I couldn’t wait to try this oil to see if it worked and made me look a little younger.

The Firming Fiji Facial Oil:

The Firming Fiji Facial Oil is recommended for all skin types – especially dry, sensitive and mature skin. It is a soothing, paraben-free oil formulated to smooth and hydrate the skin. The oil contains, Rose Essential Oil which helps to soothe sensitive skin and it has a gentle, floral, mood-enchancing aroma, Hazelnut Essential Oil which is a light, nourishing emollient oil that is easily absorbed into the skin and great for combination and oily skin types and Patchouli Essential Oil too which is an exotic Indian essential oil which has a woody aroma  – it is used for relaxing and moisturising mature skin, helping it to look firm and visibly radiant.

22688335_1790251741267507_1701576059426954230_n

Thoughts:

I’ve been using the Firming Fiji Facial oil on my face to make my complexion look brighter and to help plump and firm my newly-sagging skin and make my skin look  youthful and my complexion, radiant. I have a deep frown line between my brows, fine lines around my eyes and my smile lines are starting to become more prominent so I use this oil before bedtime as an intensive overnight treatment for the whole of my face and my skin looks so good when I wake up. The oil absorbs into the skin very quickly and it doesn’t leave a greasy residue afterwards which gets a thumbs up from me as I HATE greasy oils. I’ve also been using the oil every morning after cleansing, toning and moisturising and I apply it again under my eyes, on my frown line and my smile lines just before I put my make-up on – I think it helps my base make-up to go on much smoother and helps to create a flawless finish as it stops foundation, concealer and powder from looking dry and cakey.

It is a versatile oil too and it can be used on the body as well as the face. I’ve been using a little on my hands and it literally melts my psoriasis scales and feels soothing on the skin. I love the earthly, natural woody scent it has and I especially love it for being a cruelty-free, natural skincare product which contains no harsh ingredients at all. I do try to use natural skincare products as much as possible as my sensitive skin doesn’t agree with products formulated with artificial ingredients and nasty chemicals. Natural skincare products are gentler on the skin and work so much better in the long run especially if you have skin complaints like acne or skin disorders such as psoriasis and eczema.

Where To Buy?

Like I said I have a 30 ml tester bottle and I have just took a quick look at the Monu Skin website and seen that a 30 ml bottle with an included dropper is priced at £21.95. The website doesn’t seem to stock the full-size 100 ml bottle for some reason. So, if you want to buy a 30 ml bottle you can get one HERE on the website.

I tried to find a website that stocks the 100 ml bottle and I came across it on the Look Fantastic website. The full-size 100 ml product is just £29.95 with free delivery on Look Fantastic so I would rather buy an extra 70 ml for just £8 more. I was expecting the full size to be like £50+. The only thing is – The oil is out of stock at Look Fantastic so keep checking back to see if it becomes available again. You might as well wait and get yourselves a bargain, hey. Click HERE to visit the Look Fantastic website.

Review: PurOrganica – Ultimate Youth Eye Gel Treatment For Dark Circles, Bags & Wrinkles

I was kindly sent this Ultimate Youth Eye Gel from PurOrganica a few months ago and I have been using every single day since. PurOrganica are a natural, cruelty-free skincare brand and I have a few products of theirs already.

22405672_1786942081598473_2746531873045326314_n22450013_1786941904931824_8859990168083768621_n

PurOrganica claim the Ultimate Youth Eye Gel Treatment will help with dark circles, wrinkles, sagging, puffiness, loss of tone and firmness. It can be used in the morning and at night as an firming eye treatment or as an all over face gel. It can also be used as an under make-up primer. The gel is a completely natural, cruelty-free skincare product and it is made with 70% organic ingredients. The main ingredients are Organic Aloe Vera, Vitamin C, Organic Jojoba Oil, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E which all help to give eyes a youthful and radiant appearance whilst diminishing dark circles and puffiness.

First Impressions:

The Ultimate Youth Eye Gel comes in an outer cardboard box and inside is the eye gel itself which comes in a small 30 ml frosted glass bottle which has a plastic lid and a pump dispenser. There is a bit of info printed on the box and bottle including directions for use, ingredients, etc…. The eye gel is a clear, thick, non-drip gel which glides easily over the skin and it has a gorgeous, natural scent which smells absolutely lovely, quite like cucumbers, after looking at the ingredients list it does in fact contain Cucumber Distillate.

Thoughts:

I’ve been using my  the gel as an under eye firming treatment twice a day. I use it of a morning after I wake and I apply it underneath my eyes before I put my foundation, concealer and setting powder on and the gel helps my deep-set eyes appear firm and plumper – it also helps my makeup go on smoother and it stops my concealer and powder from looking creasing. I also put a little bit of the gel on my deep frown line between my eyebrows as well as on my smile lines which are becoming more prominent as I age.

Before I catch up on my beauty sleep, I like to use it as an all over face gel after I have cleansed, toned and moisturised my face and it has helped plump my skin and made my complexion look more youthful and radiant.

After applying the gel to my skin I can literally feel it working straight away by tightening my saggy skin and it feels cool and refreshing on the skin. I wouldn’t say it burns but it does feel kind of ‘minty fresh’ on the skin. I love it.

22489682_1786942088265139_445009406867044985_n22519175_1786942084931806_2345900765823018977_n

The gel absorbs into the skin fairly quickly and it really does work, well it has for me – I could see the difference after only using it once and my under eye area looked smoother and not as ‘sunk in’ as before – also the more I use it the better the results are so because I’m nearly at the end of the bottle  I will defo have to be buying it again as I love what it has done for my skin – my dark circles aren’t as dark, my skin looks plumper and my complexion looks healthier and brighter. I definitely recommend this product, especially for those over 30 who are starting to notice fine lines and wrinkles for the first time as well as for those who suffer with dark circles and under eye bags.

Disclosure: I received this product for free to review on my blog.

Review: Burt’s Bees – Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap

I bought the Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap which is made by Burt’s Bees last week in one of my Amazon hauls and I am seriously loving it so far. I have really sensitive skin and psoriasis, so I have learned that washing my skin with a natural and gentle soap is a must. I love Burt’s Bees because most of their products are 99% natural, over half of them are 100% natural and they are all cruelty free.

Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap

The Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap is part of the baby-care range at Burt’s Bees. It is a gentle, 100% natural soap which is mild enough to be used on babies delicate skin. The soap is made the USA and it contains buttermilk which is richer in fats and emollients than whole milk and it is a natural, soothing skin cleanser and skin softener.  The soap doesn’t contain parabens, phthalates, petroleum or SLS ingredients and it is also cruelty-free.

The Buttermilk Soap comes in a small little box and the packaging of the soap is just lovely – the box is a gorgeous, honey-yellow colour which features a honeycomb print with cute little bumble bees and a there is a beehive sketch in the centre. There is a little bit of info about the soap on the back and sides of the box.

22448212_1786090901683591_412105921752814874_n22406052_1786091165016898_2513078495653820403_n22405795_1786091331683548_1025837533212599348_n

Thoughts:

I really love this soap and wish I had bought it sooner. I’ve fallen in love with the scent of it, which smells absolutely creamy, natural and gorgeous. The soap does contain parfum/fragrance but it is a natural one and not artificial so it won’t irritate sensitive skin. I love that this soap contains no nasty ingredients at all and it is a 100% natural soap. Considering it is a natural skincare product is really does lather well and feels creamy and soothing on the skin. As you may know, I have psoriasis and sensitive skin so my skin is easily irritated and it is often sensitive and dry but this soap is so gentle on my skin whilst cleansing it and moisturising it at the same time.

I have also been using other natural skincare products in conjunction with this soap and my psoriasis – which flared up badly recently has began to clear up so I’m over the moon, as you can imagine. I really do think that by using natural skincare products works absolute wonders for you when you have sensitive skin or a skin disorder and it is wise to avoid products which contain harsh ingredients which will make you symptoms worse. Always check the ingredients list and research each one if your unsure.

One thing I was baffled about was on the box it says the soap is a 100% natural product but on the website it says it is a 99.4% natural product!

Make your mind up Burt’s Bees. Ha.

I will definitely be purchasing this soap again, gain and again and think I’ll probably use it for the rest of my life because I like it so much. So, as you probably guessed, I 100000% recommend the Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap to everyone and anyone & especially for those with sensitive skin, psoriasis and eczema.

Where To Buy?

I got my Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap HERE on Amazon UK for £3.32.

You can also get it on the website: www.burtsbees.com

Review: Sand & Sky – Brilliant Skin -Purifying Pink Clay Mask

I received my Purifying Pink Clay Mask by Sand $ Sky in last months Birchbox and I have used it a couple of times since. I have got the 13g sample size tube and I’ve had about 3-4 uses out of it. I was so happy when I opened my Birchbox and seen this gorgeous little thing sitting inside, I’ve heard so many good things about the pink clay mask so I couldn’t wait to give it a try for myself.

For those who don’t know – Sand & Sky are an Australian cruelty-free skincare brand founded by twin sisters – Sarah & Emily Hamiliton. After taking a look at the website it seems they only sell the Purifying Pink Clay Mask at the moment but maybe they will add more products to their collection in the near future.

21765274_1779554699003878_5854688493949296155_n

What Is The Purifying Pink Clay Mask?

Sand & Sky claim the Purifying Pink Clay Mask is a botanical infused 4-in-1 formula which can be used as an instant detox mask, to tighten pores, to invigorate a dull complexion and instantly boost radiance.

Contains:

Pink Australian Clay which helps to draw out impurities, toxins and pollutants from the skin. Also refines pores and deep cleanses the skin.

Organic Liquorice and Old Man’s Weed which helps to regenerate skin cells and stimulate cell production. Also, gently removes pigmentation clusters from the skin’s surface.

Organic Aloe Vera and Pomegranate which tightens pores & soothes after Detoxify & Brighten and also stimulates collagen production.

Kakadu Plum & Kelp and Organic Mangosteen which helps prevent free radical damage and creates a defence shield to leave skin clear and glowing.

My Thoughts:

As I mentioned above I only have the 13g sample size which comes in a small tube. The full size product comes in a 58ml tub and you get a free face mask brush with it. The packaging is gorgeous, it is a lovely blue colour and it looks fresh and modern. The mask itself is a beige, almost pale pink colour and it smells natural and pleasant.

sand_sky_purifyingpinkmask

I’ve used the mask about three times now and so far I really like it but I wouldn’t say it is the best face mask I have ever used – it doesn’t compare to my Bentonite Clay masks but yeah, I do like it nonetheless. I slather it all over my face avoiding the eyes and mouth and leave my mask on for about 10 minutes each time – after a while the pale pink colour of the mask turns to a ghostly white and you can feel the clay hardening a little. After washing the pink clay mask off my skin, I didn’t see any dramatic results but it definitely left my skin feeling soft & smooth like a baby’s bum. I have dull skin but my complexion did look a little brighter than before.

22228358_1784827008476647_6155898680730356788_n22281724_1784827005143314_1863145396166120966_n22279393_1784827001809981_6380872342634886890_n

As you may know from reading my other posts, I suffer with tiny blackheads on my nose which seem impossible to remove and so far the mask hasn’t done anything at all for them and they are still pretty visible after using the mask a couple of times. So I’m thinking I’d need to use the mask a lot longer than I have to see an improvement and elimination of my blackheads. It has tightened my pores and they don’t look as large now and I love how it leaves my face feeling/looking cleansed and healthier-looking.

SS_WEB-RESIZE_04-2

Photo nicked from the Sand & Sky website!

Now lets move on to the price! I nearly had a heart attack when I seen the £39.90 price tag for the 58ml full size tub and it is quite a small tub too. Come on girls… 40 quid for a face mask is ridiculous, you have to agree – whether it works or not! Like I said I do like the pink clay mask but I very much doubt I will buy the full size as it is way out of my budget – I could get over forty 7th Heaven face masks for that! Haha!

Don’t get me wrong, I have put it on my wish-list but in the meantime I think I will buy a 500g tub of pure Australian Pink Clay powder HERE from Amazon UK for just £9.95 and make my own pink clay masks instead. I also have Aloe Vera gel here and Pomegranate oil so I will add a little of them to my DIY ‘Sand & Sky’ face masks.

Check out what Jessicat and Uniquely Julia thought about the Purifying Pink Clay Mask.

Where To Buy?

You can get the full size product HERE on the website.

You can also get it HERE in the Birchbox shop.

Review: Pure Potions – Skin Salvation Bath & Body Emollient Oil For Psoriasis, Eczema & Dermatitis

About two weeks ago now – I received a bundle of skincare goodies to try out on my sensitive skin and psoriasis and review them on my blog. The company who kindly gifted me the products are an amazing, award-winning, natural skincare brand called Pure Potions – all of their skincare products are cruelty-free, natural and free from harsh chemicals such as parabens, perfumes and synthetic ingredients. They are based in the UK but they do ship worldwide. I was also sent the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil which I have already reviewed here as well as their Scalp Oil for my scalp psoriasis – which I’ve yet to review.

22046537_1780392432253438_3361349410382190467_n

What Is The Bath & Body Emollient:

The Bath & Body Emollient Oil is an all-purpose, 100% natural moisturing oil suitable for all skin types and formulated to replenish moisture lost by bathing or showering. Added to bath water or smoothed on after bathing, this rich, nourishing oil reduces the drying effects of water by locking in moisture and can replace the need for potentially-irritating foaming and perfumed body washes or soap. Made from organic hemp, olive, calendula and safflower oils with chamomile and lavender essential oils. The Skin Salvation collection has also won the Best Eczema Range at the 2017 Natural Health International Beauty Awards so this proves how amazing the oil is.

First Impressions:

The Bath & Body Emollient Oil comes in a 200 ml, dark green plastic bottle. It has a white lockable flip-lid an there is a lot of info printed on the back of the bottle, such as ingredients, directions for use, benefits, etc… The packaging looks very fresh and attractive and has a ‘natural’ look. It has a very natural, herbal scent and before I even looked at the ingredients list I noticed that it had a strong cannabis / marijuana scent – after looking at the ingredients list – it does in fact contain cannabis sativa (hemp) seed oil, I can also smell the lavender essential oil too. The Bath & Body Emollient Oil has a shelf life of 6 months (natural products have a shorter shelf life than products with artificial ingredients) and the bottle is recyclable.

22195936_1784148725211142_4302305012958474343_n22308542_1784148708544477_4803970671444678832_n22195456_1784141828545165_1577218276912109996_n

How To Use The Bath & Body Emollient Oil:

This multi-purposes oil can be added to bath water and applied to damp or dry skin as a moisturising oil, it can also be used as a facial cleanser, a massage oil and a shaving oil.

My Thoughts On The Bath & Body Emollient Oil:

I mainly use my oil in the bath, it says on the bottle to add one or two tablespoons of the oil to a warm bath but I just put about three squirts into my bath straight from the bottle. Whilst bathing in the oil I can feel the oil working it’s magic and my skin instantly looks and feels smoother. When I get out of the tub I can see how well it has worked on my psoriasis because my silver scales have ‘melted’ and my red patches are much lighter in colour.

I’ve also applied the oil after bathing on my damp skin and onto dry skin as a moisturiser. The oil doesn’t feel sticky or greasy and I was surprised at how quickly the oil absorbed into my skin. I rarely take showers, as I prefer soaking in the bath tub but when I do, I apply a little of the oil to my palms and rub my whole body with my hands to make my skin feel soft and smooth and it adds moisture to my dry skin and soothes my irritated, itchy skin.

I’ve only really used the oil as a facial cleanser once or twice as I prefer to use my Omega Rich Cleansing Oil instead but it can and does work as a cleanser for the face. I applied a little bit of oil to my face, massaged it in leaving the oil to soak into my face then washed it off with a damp wash cloth. My skin was left looking clean and feeling soft and it made my complexion radiant and glowing.

After two weeks of bathing in the oil three times a week my psoriasis looks a million times better and I love how pink my patches look instead of bright red. I really wish I took before and after pictures to show you guys what I mean. So although I still have my psoriasis, this oil has definitely helped and they are starting to look like they are disappearing. My skin feels soft and is less dry than before and I just really love this oil and it works AMAZING as a shaving oil – because I have psoriasis on my legs I have been finding it difficult to shave so eek, I have had gorilla legs for a few weeks as my skin has flared up badly. The boyfriend really fancies me, hey! Ha. This oil allows me to shave my legs with ease and I absolutely love it for this reason alone. So, if you struggle with shaving – I 100% recommend giving this oil a try.

The only thing I don’t like about the oil is the need to clean my bath afterwards, I usually just give my bathtub a quick wipe and rinse with the shower head after bathing but with this oil you have to seriously give it a good scrub with elbow grease as the oil sticks to the bath – water alone won’t remove the oil. Not a big problem, I know, but I’m lazy! Ha ha.

Disclosure: This product was gifted to me for review purposes. All words are my own and have not been influenced by the brand and this review is based on my own experience with the product.

Recommended For:

The Bath & Body Emollient Oil is suitable for all skin types but I especially recommend it for those who suffer with eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and dry, sensitive skin.

Where To Buy?

You can get a 200 ml bottle of the Bath & Body Emollient Oil here for £12.99.

A 300 ml bottle is also available for £19.00.

Review: Moroccan Rose Water Facial Mist Spray – InstaNatural

I was sent this Moroccan Rose Water from InstaNatural a while back and it has become a part of my daily skin care routine ever since. InstaNatural is a natural, cruelty-free skincare brand based in the USA. They sell a wide range of organic and natural products including face masks, aromatherapy oils, natural oils, cleansers, moisturisers, toners, etc… and all of their products contain no nasty ingredients such as parabens, colourants and artificial fragrances. I absolutely love InstaNatural and I already have lots of products from the brand and I love every one of them.

22154210_1783419375284077_6716720388944904523_n

What is it?

”Our Rose Water is 100% pure, natural water made from Rosa Damascena flower petals with no artificial fragrances, preservatives or added chemicals. Rose Water is a multifunctional treatment with soothing, hydrating and revitalizing properties. This product naturally balances the skin’s pH and is an effective toner for any dry or troubling skin.” – InstaNatural

First Impressions:

The Moroccan Rose Water comes in an outer cardboard box and inside is the 120 ml white, glass spray bottle which has a spray nozzle and a clear plastic lid. The packaging is simple, fresh and attractive and there is a lot of info about the rose water on the back of the box & bottle including ingredients, how to use, benefits, etc… The Moroccan Rose Water is basically a water spray and it has a subtle rose scent which smells so pretty.

22141010_1783413831951298_3804963736359140322_n22196287_1783157985310216_4496429778912386706_n

My Thoughts On The Moroccan Rose Water:

I absolutely love this spray and use it for everything. I love how it doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances – so it is gentle and kind on my sensitive skin and it doesn’t irritate my psoriasis or make them worse. It literally smells amazing – I love rose-scented products and this rose water has a gorgeous, natural scent which smells beautiful.

After cleansing my skin, I use this Moroccan Rose Water as a toner by applying some of the rose water to a cotton pad and wiping it over my face and neck to close my pores and prevent blackheads. I also use it on damp skin after bathing and showering too and it helps to hydrate and soothe my dry skin. Now and again, I spray a little onto my hair and scalp and comb through and it makes my hair moisturised, shinier and it soothes my irritated scalp.

My favourite way to use the Moroccan Rose water is to spray some onto my skin after applying my foundation, concealer and setting powder. I just apply one or two spritz of the water to my face and my make-up looks so much more natural and flawless afterwards. It is a great little make-up setting spray and I love how it makes cakey powder appear more dewy and radiant. I  love how this is a multi-purpose spray and it can also be used as a aftershave, for aromatherapy uses, treating sunburn, for removing make-up, perking up tired, puffy eyes and so much more.

Disclosure: – This product was gifted to me for review purposes.

Recommended For:

The Moroccan Rose Water is perfect for all skin types but I would especially recommend it for those with oily, dry or sensitive skin and those who suffer with skin complaints such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.

Where To Buy?

I did get mine HERE from InstaNatural’s Amazon UK shop but they don’t seem to stock the rose water anymore. I’ve had a look on Google too for UK shops who sell InstaNatural products and I can’t seem to find any. If I do I will update this post.

Review: Pure Potions | Skin Salvation – Omega Rich Cleansing Oil

22046537_1780392432253438_3361349410382190467_n

I was kindly sent a few skin care goodies from the fabulous Pure Potions who are an award-winning, natural skin care brand based in the UK. The products I was sent were the Scalp Oil, the Bath & Body Bath Emollient and lastly, the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil which is what I’ll be reviewing today.

21766487_1780390095587005_2010507784612736600_n

What Pure Potions say about the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil:

Introducing the new Skin Salvation Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil is a 100% natural facial cleanser made with a luxurious combination of rich, effective, botanical oils for daily use to condition, cleanse and moisturise.

It has been formulated as an alternative to soap-based cleansers or make-up removers to cleanse dirt and excess oil from the face without stripping skin of moisture or damaging the epidermis.

When massaged into the skin the rosehip, calendula, sunflower and safflower oils bind to surface impurities, pulling out dirt without clogging pores, and allow them to be gently wiped away leaving the skin clean, soft and hydrated. It can be used as part of a daily skincare regime to remove mascara, foundation and other make-up as well as the grime and pollutants of everyday life.

This super-rich oil also nourishes and protects skin that might need extra care, particularly ageing, fragile or damaged facial skin, because, unlike most brands of cleansing oils, Pure Potions’ Skin Salvation Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil is a blend of carefully-selected natural oils and contains absolutely no perfume, preservatives or other added ingredients. We don’t use even essential oils in this blend because sensitive skin on the face can react to these natural additives; it is just a pure and simple blend of plant- and seed-based oils.

Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*
Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil*
Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil
Calendula Officianalis (Calendula) Flower Oil*
*organic ingredients

My Thoughts:

I am absolutely over the moon that I have come across this brand as their gentle products have helped my skin tremendously in such a short period of time. I have been using the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil twice a day, when I wake up – before I apply my make-up and to take it all off before I go to bed. It takes make-up off so well leaving my skin deeply cleansed and even removes waterproof mascara and I love that it doesn’t clog pores on the skin too which will keep pimples, blackheads and whiteheads from appearing. After cleansing my face with the oil I am left with a little dewy shine which makes my skin look radiant and glowing. Luckily, I don’t really get psoriasis on my face apart from underneath my eyebrows but since using this oil is has kept them at bay. It has done my skin the world of good and it looks so much healthier already. My complexion is a lot brighter which I’m so happy about as usually it looks very dull and greyish.

There is quite a lot of product in the bottle and you only need to use the smallest amount as a little bit goes far, so it is long-lasting. I have been using this for about a week now and you would think I haven’t even used any at all as the bottle is still full to the brim

What I also love about the cleansing oil is that it is a 100% natural cleansing oil that contains no parabens, no perfumes, no palm oil, no SLS, no phthalates, no silicones, no PEG’s, no mineral oil and no synthetics. It is probably the safest cleanser you can use on sensitive skin and removes make-up, impurities and dirt without irritating the skin or worsening symptoms.

21762124_1780390208920327_8693363478964169220_n

I apply it all over my face, (sometimes I leave it on for a few minutes to let it deeply moisturise my skin) then wipe it off with a damp wash-cloth. I am not usually a fan of cleansing oils as I like my creams and facial washes but this is an oil I will be using again and again and I will be re-purchasing.

22007781_1780390168920331_2536712393824931532_n

The only thing I dislike about the Omega Rich Cleansing Oil is that after applying to the face it requires you to wash your hands with soap afterwards to remove the oil from your hands, not a biggie really. Plus, I think it is a little expensive at £22 a bottle but as I said before, one bottle will last a long time and the cleansing oil really does soothe, hydrate and cleanse problem skin, thanks to its natural ingredients.

So I suppose you get what you pay for, hey!

Recommended for:

Absolutely anyone can use this cleansing oil! Women, men, children, old and young. It is recommended for those who have sensitive skin and those with skin disorders but even if your skin is healthy you can use it. The omega rich cleansing oil is perfect for those with dry and allergy prone skin, so if you have psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, acne or rosacea – I would 100% recommend giving this cleansing oil a try.

Review: Smooth Me Coconut Hair Serum – Inecto Naturals

I picked up some of Inecto Naturals‘ – Smooth Me Coconut Hair Serum from Home Bargains and thought I’d write a little review for you guys as both of my other Inecto posts have proved quite popular with my readers. I loved the Super Nourishing Shampoo & the Super Moisturising Conditioner and The Divine Coconut Hair Oil made my hair feel silky soft. Both of these posts are up there with my all-time, most viewed posts so I thought I would give the serum a whirl.

INECTO - Smooth Me Coconut Hair Serum

Who are Inecto?

Inecto Naturals are a fabulous little beauty brand based in the UK who sell natural, cruelty-free, vegan friendly skin-care and hair-care products.  What I love most about Inecto Naturals is that up to 90% of their ingredients are from natural origins. They also work with farms across the world to add only sustainable sourced oils to their products.

What is the Smooth Me Coconut Hair Serum?

The Smooth Me Coconut Hair Serum is a lightweight serum infused with Pure Organic Coconut Oil. It works by smoothing fly away hairs and tames damaged, frizzy hair leaving it feeling soft and sleek.

First impressions:

I love Inecto‘s packaging, all of their products look simple yet fresh and eye-catching. The serum comes in a 50 ml squeezy tube with a ‘lockable’ lid to stop any unwanted product spill. The serum itself is a clear, transparent oil  which smells so god damn sweet. It has a mild coconut scent too.

How to use the Smooth Me Coconut Hair Serum?

Warm a little pea-sized amount of serum in your hands and run through the hair, focusing on the ends.

Inecto Smooth Me Coconut Hair Serum 2

The serum is basically an oil so you guessed it – it feels kinda oily! When applying to your hair make sure to use only the tiniest amount as only a little bit of the serum is needed. If you use too much your hair will look oily and greasy. You can add a little more if needed but I would advise to apply a little at a time so your hair doesn’t look like it hasn’t been washed in a decade! Try to stay away from the roots too as they are already lubricated with your naturally occurring  hair oils and we know that too much oil = grease. Apply only to the mid-lengths and tips of your hair.

Verdict:

Wow! Another Inecto product that I love! I think the Smooth Me Hair Serum is probably my all-time favourite product from Inecto which is saying something as I absolutely loved the Shampoo & Conditioner and the Hair Oil. This serum really works amazingly at taming frizzy hair and making damaged hair appear healthy-looking, my hair looks great. The serum is really oily so only a little bit is needed which means one 50 ml tube will last ages. After applying only a little of the serum to my mid-lengths and tips my hair instantly felt smoother and I can’t get over how healthier it looked. My hair was left with a little shine and it smelled gorgeous for most of the day too as the scent lingered for quite a while. I think Inecto are probably one of my fave brands right now, simply because their products are inexpensive, they really do work and they smell amazing! I can”t wait to try some of Inecto‘s other products out. I really do love the Naturals Coconut range and think I’ll try some of the skin-care products next as I’ve only used the hair products.  I will have to try something from the  Naturals Argan range next time too.

Where to buy?

I’ve bought all of my Inecto products at Home Bargains for less than £2. I think the Smooth Me Coconut Hair Serum was around about £1.20 which is an absolute bargain, trust me! Although, if you want to shop now you can buy it online at  Amazon UK here for £2.80 plus £1 postage.

Review: Tropical Soap Collection – Art Naturals

A few months ago, I was sent the lush Tropical Soap Collection from Art Naturals
who are a natural skincare brand selling, natural, BPA-free, cruelty-free and eco-friendly skincare products. They sell essential oils, hair care products, skin care products, bath and body body products, aromatherapy sets and oil diffusers and they even have a men’s collection too!
ART NATURALS TROPICAL SOAP COLLECTION REVIEW
ART NATURALS TROPICAL SOAP SET 1
The Tropical Soap Collection is a 6-piece soap bar set suitable for all skin types and can be used by both men and women. The soaps are all infused with jojoba oil and different aromatherapy oils including lavender, lemon, grapefruit, tea tree, sweet orange and eucalyptus. All individual 4oz soap bars are sulfate-free, paraben-free, mineral-oil free and cruelty-free.
ART NATURALS TROPICAL SOAP SET 2

The Tropical Soap Collection

Floral Detox: a renewing cleansing soap infused with lavender.

Soothing Citrus: a rejuvenating cleansing soap infused with orange.

Tropical Cleanse:  a regenerating soap bar infused with grapefruit.

Miracle Wash: a reviving cleansing soap infused with tea tree.

Cool Mint: a cleansing soap infused with eucalyptus.

Purifying Zing: a cleansing soap infused with lemon.

ART NATURALS SOAP

Ingredients: Sodium palmate (palm oil), water, glycerin, jojoba oil, essential oils, sodium chloride.

Verdict:

I am really loving the Tropical Soap Collection from Art Naturals, they are probably the best soaps for my skin disorder that I have used in a long time and I do really like them! They also come in a pretty enough box to be given as a gift, so I would definately consider purchasing a few boxes to give out as little gifts for birthdays, Christmas, etc… I would love something like this as a present!

The soaps are all pretty good-sized 4 oz bars too. One bar of soap lasts absolute ages and I have only used two bars so far in the few months that I’ve had them, for this reason alone I do think this soap set is worth the money as they are really long-lasting and good quality.

I also found the soaps worked up a good lather too and my skin felt really clean and soft after using them. They do smell really nice although if you were to blindfold me I would not be able to work out which soap was which. To be completely honest, they do all smell quite similar, sweet, pretty, mild and natural  – but then again my sense of smell is awful, so don’t take my word for it!

I have psoriasis and I have found these soaps do not irritate my skin like most others do or cause my skin to flare up and react – I think that is all down to the natural ingredients that are in the soaps and the fact that they are all paraben-free, sulfate-free and mineral oil free. So, I would recommend and I do think these are the perfect soaps for people with sensitive skin, skin problems or skin disorders as they gently cleanse and moisturise the skin without irritating the skin or worsening symptoms.

Get the Tropical Soap Collection here from Art Naturals Amazon UK shop.

The Tropical Soap Collection is £13.95 – Same day & next day delivery available.

Pura Cosmetics: Classic Coconut Lip Scrub & Lip Balm Combo

I was sent the Classic Coconut Lip Scrub & Classic Coconut Lip Balm a while back from Pura Cosmetics who are a natural, cruelty free lip-care brand selling gorgeous little lip scrubs and lip balms.

21740006_10213792310266296_3494904389577018750_n

They also do thoughtful little wedding favours for guests and bridesmaid and flower girl gifts which is a cute idea and something I’ll keep in mind for when I tie the knot. Although, bear in mind, I have been with my partner over 12 years (a life sentence) and he still hasn’t popped the question so I won’t hold my breath, ha ha!

Classic Coconut Lip Scrub

The Classic Coconut Lip Scrub comes in a pretty little screw top jar and is a great little exfoliatior for the lips. One of the main ingredients in the lip scrub is coconut oil which is well-known for moisturising and nourishing the skin amazingly. The golden caster sugar gently exfoliates the lips and is the perfect remedy for dry and chapped lips. It gives your lips the perfect base to apply lipstick giving you a perfect pout. It also has the most sweetest, coconut scent ever, it really does smell lovely.

21731335_10213792311266321_3758776506536294253_n

How To Use?

Apply a small amount of scrub to lips with your finger and gently buff and rub into the skin until your happy with the results. Once done, remove the excess scrub off your lips with a bit of tissue to reveal a gorgeous pout.

Ingredients: Golden Caster Sugar, Pure Coconut Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Mica Colouring and Flavouring.

A word of warning, as this scrub contains coconut oil – you may want to avoid it if you have a nut allergy.

The Classic Coconut Lip Balm

The Classic Coconut Lip Balm comes in a little tub with a screw top lid. The balm is made with all natural and pure ingredients including vitamin E oil which is great for anti-ageing and soothing cracked and irritated skin. The balm literally melts on the lips after applying and helps to keep the skin on your lips in tip-top shape by moisturing dry, chapped and sore lips, giving them some TLC. It also gives a  natural little shine to your lips too. Like the scrub, the balm smells like a dream and is small enough to pop into your handbag.

Ingredients: Pure Coconut Oil, Olive Wax, Apricot Kernel Oil, Vitamin E Oil and Flavouring.

The lip balm also contains coconut oil, so avoid if you have any nut allergies.

Where To Buy?

You can buy the Classic Coconut Lip Scrub here for £3.50.

You can buy the Classic Coconut Lip Balm here for £2.50.

If you want both the Lip Scrub and the Lip Balm it will work out cheaper if you purchase them as a combo. Combo prices are cheaper than if you were to buy the two products separately. Click right here to buy the combo for £5.50.

Use this code: BYKADY20 for 20% off!

Pura Cosmetics also have other ‘flavours’ to choose from so be sure to take a look at the others. They also do a limited edition cocktail inspired range too. The Prosecco Bubbles and Strawb Daiquiri combo’s are next on my list, mmm!

You can follow Pura Cosmetics on social media too. They run lots of giveaways so head on over, you might get lucky! See below for the links.

DIY Beauty Project: Activated Charcoal Toothpaste

I’ve used quite a few store-bought Activated Charcoal Powders for Whitening Teeth, you know the one’s that come in the little pots and I’ve always been a big fan of them. Activated charcoal is a highly absorbent substance which is very helpful for changing the pH and health of the mouth, and is effective in preventing cavities and killing the bad bacteria present in tooth decay and gingivitis. It is a natural solution to promote healthy teeth and gums without any toxic ingredients and contains no synthetic additives, preservatives, foaming agents, fluoride, flavours or artificial colours. It helps to remove toxins from the mouth and teeth, freshen breath, as well as whitening and polishing the teeth.

I’ve found a way to make own Activated Charcoal Toothpaste for much cheaper and it lasts longer too.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED?

You will only need three ingredients for this DIY and they are: a toothbrush, of course, toothpaste and one activated charcoal supplement.

21740434_10213789322831612_1148065887620278288_n

Activated Charcoal Supplements can be bought at most healthcare and vitamin shops, I got mine from Amazon UK right here for just under £15 from Nu U Nutrition and there were 365 capsules in the bottle, which is enough for a whole year, probably two.

a3

HOW TO MAKE THE DIY CHARCOAL TOOTH WHITENING POWDER?

If you haven’t got any activated charcoal supplements lying around then go out and get some or order yourself some online and wait for them to arrive.

Carefully open one of the activated charcoal supplements over a piece of paper.

a2

Apply toothpaste to your toothbrush and then dip it into the activated charcoal powder so it fully covers the toothpaste. (You could also skip the toothpaste and just use the powder instead.)

a1

Brush your teeth for around 1-2 minutes, and enjoy having black teeth for a couple of minutes, ha ha, I thought it was pretty cool.

Once done, rinse out your mouth a couple of times.

ADVICE:

Using the charcoal powder too often, such as daily, may cause wear on your tooth enamel so I recommend using it about once or twice a week for best results.

Remember, activated charcoal can be a bit messy, so make sure you do this in the bathroom. I would advise you NOT to use an electric toothbrush as the charcoal will fly all around the room, splashing all over the walls and floor. (Took me ages cleaning my bathroom, ha ha) Your toothbrush will be stained after using the charcoal powder but it’s easily removed using a bit of hot water.

Possibly the easiest DIY I have ever done and it really works!

Review & GIVEAWAY: InstaNatural – Youth Express Night Cream

Hey girls,

(If you’re here for the GIVEAWAY, check the end of this post for details on how to enter.)

Now, let’s get this review done & dusted. I’m back with another skincare product review from one of my favourite beauty brands, InstaNatural, who are an
American skincare company that specialise in natural beauty products. Today, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on their Youth Express Night Cream which retails
at around £ in the UK and $ in the USA. I’ve had this cream lying around for ages and thought I’d give it a good trial before I posted my review on it. So, here goes…

WHAT IS IT:

A rich night cream that works as an anti-aging product. It works by hydrating & plumping the skin to keep it soft & supple. The key ingredients are Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) which can help reduce redness and imflammination as well as diminish the appearance of acne, scars and hyperpigmentation. Matrixyl 3000, Vitamin C which promotes healthy skin by reducing damage from external factors such as sun exposure. Rosehip Oil which is great for combatting wrinkles and fine lines. The night cream also contains Organic Aloe Vera, Argan Oil, Safflower Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Avacado Oil and Evening Primrose Oil.

13912872_10209883520989007_6516695177450204918_n

HOW TO USE:

Cleanse and tone the skin just before bedtime and put a small amount of cream to the fingertips and apply to your face and neck in a circular, upward motion. Leave to dry completely, in my experience this takes a good 10 minutes or so to fully absorb the cream. Although this is a night
cream it can and is best use morning and night for best results.

WHAT I LIKE:

I’ve been using the cream for three weeks now, once daily before bedtime. The cream is a thick, luxurious white lotion which spreads easily across the skin, completely hydrating and moisturising it. Although I hate waiting around for it to absorb fully, I am pleased with the results so far and I have noticed that my skin does look more youthful than before I started using it. It’s hard to explain but I have both dull grey areas on my face as well as the
odd bit of redness so finding a cream that brightens up your complexion as well as reducing redness is great! Not to mention how well it moisturises any dry patches. Once fully absorbed and I have catched up on my beauty sleep – I wake up to soft and supple skin as the cream works its magic through the night by hydrating and plumping the skin. I love the fact that all the ingredients in the cream are completely natural and plant derived. The cream seriously is packed to the brim with goodness. Obviously, it’s great that InstaNatural have not tested the cream on animals and another plus is that the bottle is eco-friendly and can be recycled.

13906897_10209883527429168_590462267874117106_n13912721_10209883527509170_360605380378937144_n

WHAT I DONT LIKE:

My least favourite thing about the cream is how long it takes to absorb into the skin, I hate creams that don’t dry quickly and I’ve waited about 10 minutes each time for it to dry so it didn’t rub off on my expensive pillowcases. Also, the cream does not feel lightweight on the skin and instead feels kinda heavy on my face if that makes sense, like my skin can’t breathe. So if you’re after a lightweight night cream, this one isn’t for you as it’s rich, thick and feels like a barrier over the skin.

WORTH THE MONEY:

I do like the cream and it does work but I prefer a lightweight, fast absorbing cream so I doubt I’ll repurchase it. I think there are better creams out there to suit my skin type and for much less too but the ingredients in this cream are all natural and good and natural products are always a little more expensive than chemical laden products, so I suppose you get what you pay for, good ingredients and no harsh chemicals.

With Love…

Katie

Review: Coconut Oil Hair Mask by Majestic Pure

Hi ladies…

I was sent a little gift from Majestic Pure to try out a while back, it is their Coconut Hair Mask which comes in a 260 ml tub. The packaging is quite simple, just a transparent tub which doesn’t look overly expensive and it has a white screw top lid. The label has all the ingredients listed (which all seem good & natural) as well as some info about the hair mask and directions on how to use.

c__data_users_defapps_appdata_internetexplorer_temp_saved-images_15578887_10211174247416361_2798003432715764106_n

I struggled to open the tub so I had to use a knife to get it open.

Majestic Pure say the Coconut hair mask is enriched with a formula to hydrate and repair damaged hair, it revitalizes, sparkles long lasting shine and restores softness.

c__data_users_defapps_appdata_internetexplorer_temp_saved-images_15665962_10211174262256732_8594726681568747211_n

The mask itself is a thick, white, non-drip lotion which smells of mild coconut. The lotion spread easily and glided through my roots to my ends coating every strand. I left the mask on for about 5 – 20 minutes each time and on one occasion I left it on my hair over night to give my damaged hair a deep condition.

c__data_users_defapps_appdata_internetexplorer_temp_saved-images_15665432_10211174251856472_6492006493541941443_n

My hair felt thicker and moisturised after drying with a hair-dryer and it smelled nice and clean although I didn’t notice my hair being any shinier or glossier but it did feel healthier and soft. I do recommend giving hair a good rinse after using it as there were a few times my hair felt like it still had product in it, so I made sure I rinsed the mask off completely.

c__data_users_defapps_appdata_internetexplorer_temp_saved-images_15590434_10211174265416811_345642812371210700_n

I would use the Coconut Hair Mask again but it is not one of my favourite hair masks that I have used. I had an Argan Oil Hair Mask which was from Majestic Pure also and I felt the argan oil one nourished and repaired my damaged hair more than the coconut one.

You can buy the Coconut Oil Hair Mask – here.

DIY Natural Beauty Project: Black Tea Hair Rinse To Speed Up Hair Growth & Add A Glossy Shine

I love a good cuppa I do.

To be completely honest I’m a bit of a tea tank and I can easily drink twenty cups a day. The last 3 weeks I have not only been sippin’ on cuppa’s but I have been using my teabags to make my own DIY Black Tea Hair Rinse to see if it can help reduce shedding of the hair, stimulate hair growth and thickness as well as enchance shine as I long for long, full and thick hair and I regret getting the chop.

You must have seen all these miracle hair growing shampoo’s that prevent hair falling out and helps to make your own hair grow back thicker, fuller and longer? Let’s take the well-known, Alpecin for example. Well basically, Alpecin is very rich in caffeine and well, Black Tea is extremely rich in caffeine too and it doesn’t contain any nasty ingredients or chemicals that some hair brand dump in their shampoo’s. Ït is completely natural and a lot cheaper than those miracle shampoo’s.

Cup of freshly brewed black tea

Cup of freshly brewed black tea in a plain white china cup and saucer surrounded by scattered unused teabags

What You Need?

5 TEABAGS (just your regular PG Tips, Tetley, Yorkshire Tea, etc…)

A LARGE BOWL (A plastic dishbowl is perfect or just anything to put the tea into and then pour over your head.)

HOT KETTLE WATER(To steep & brew the teabags and extract all the goodness of the black tea into the hot water).

Let’s start:

1: Soak the teabags in hot kettle water for a few hours or for best results over night. (Don’t add sugar, don’t add milk, he he.)

2: When the Teabags have been steeped for 12-24 hours, take each teabag and squeeze all of the excess liquid back into the bowl. We want every drop!

3: Don’t be alarmed by this step. Its kind of similar to washing your hair in the sink, Ha. So. dip your head into the bowl leaving it submerged in the water for about 5 minutes and completely saturate your scalp and hair with the Black Tea. Or if you can’t be bothered dunking your head in a bowl for five minutes, simply pour the Black Tea water over your whole head, then follow with a shower cap – just make sure you do it in the bathroom otherwise you’ll have a puddle to clean up. Wear old clothes too. Tea stains are a bitch to get out.

4: When the five minutes of dunking is up, don’t squeeze out the excess water from your hair. Clamp your hair up into a loose bun and put on a shower cap, keeping a face towel near to wipe any black tea that falls down onto your face.

5: Leave the black tea water on your hair for a whole hour, then rinse and follow up with a nourishing conditioner.

6: Results will not be visible straight away but you will definitely see results by doing a Black Tea Rinse, week by week. Add the Black Tea Rinse into your beauty regime, its worth a try and the only thing your losing is teabags, hey. Forget the expensive ‘miracle’ shampoo’s. Black Tea works just as well.

REMEMBER: DONT USE HOT WATER ON YOUR HEAD. LET THE WATER COOL

Little tip: Keep the used tea bags and recycle them for your eyes to reduce dark circles, irritation and puffiness… They help to soothe and brighten your eyes too.

15095043_10210815863096977_2170938668382143734_n

My results after 3 weeks:

So, once a week I have been doing a Black Tea Rinse on my hair and so far I am very pleased with the results. My hair always feels soft, smooth and looks shiny afterwards and by week 3 of doing weekly rinses, I can feel how much thicker my hair is becoming and I can definitely see less hair loss after brushing.

You guys should give this a whirl, you probably have teabags at home so you can start right now if you wish. Let me know if you guys try it and continue to use it weekly. I’d love to see your results.

I’d love to hear some of your favourite DIY beauty Projects which you have found on the internet?

I adore crafting my own beauty recipes, so you guys will be doing me a BIG favour if you share some of your ‘makes’ below? I might even post about them on here.

Sunday Pamper Sesh! – Passion Peel-Off Face Mask from 7th Heaven (Review)

It’s Sunday! Which means one thing:

PAMPER SESH! 💅🏻

I friggin’ love Sunday’s! I  park my bum on the couch and stay in all day like a hermit  watching Disney films and chick flicks… I take a nice long bubble bath whilst my roast dinner is cooking, YUM! I paint my nails, get the magic Nair out, do all my tan and shape my brows and I can’t forget a good old face mask of course!

Some of you may know already how much I love 7th Heaven face masks, they are vegan, Peta approved, cheap as chips, contain natural ingredients and they actually work!  I have been using them since I was a spotty teenager and I reckon I’ll still be face masking it when I’m 90 years old!

I’ve bought quite a few 7th Heaven face masks in my lifetime but I don’t think I have ever tried the Passion Peel-Off mask – so I thought I’d give it a go today.

14732215_10210525054906954_596388177763599262_n.jpg

7th Heaven say:

‘Pulped Pomegranate, Passion Flower, Raspberry Grape, Cranberry and vitamin E contain antioxidants that help protect skin, while pores and dead cells get a deep clean from our peel-off mask!’

14666074_10210525034106434_9120595379053447893_n

The Passion Peel-Off mask comes in a 10ml sachet like most of the masks from 7th Heaven, which I think is perfect for travelling and especially if you’re like me and like trying new products out. The mask itself is a rose-pink colour and it smells so sweet, almost like strawberry or raspberry jelly. It smells delish! It is also very sticky but after 20-25 minutes, the stickiness disappears and your left with a super shiny face. It looked good, my wrinkles disappeared for a while ha. It didn’t look lilac coloured like the models on the sachet is – instead it was quite clear and looked a little pinky. Also I usually get two applications from one sachet of 7th Heaven masks but this one only provides one.

Now if you read my post a couple of days ago you will understand why at first I was a bit apprehensive about using another peel-off mask as I had an awful time with the Black Peel Off Mask from Beauty Infinitive. I was worried that this would hurt too when I started peeling it off but I was relieved that it never; it actually felt pleasurable and satisfying, ha. I began peeling at my jaw line and had no problem whatsoever at removing the mask. Afterwards my skin looked so much brighter and the mask had peeled away all of my dead skin cell build-up on my face which made my complexion appear dull. I love how soft my skin feels too.  I like this mask, it is not my favourite one from the 7th Heaven face mask range but I will use/buy it again especially when my complexion needs a kick up the bum.

Where to buy?

I got mine from Sainsbury’s for super cheap, 79p a sachet but you can seriously get them everywhere. Amazon, Superdrug, Boots, Asda, Home Bargains… The list is endless!

What 7th Heaven face mask should I try next?

Review: Laila London – Activated Charcoal Tooth Whitening Powder

The fab company, Laila London kindly sent me some of their Charcoal Tooth Whitening Powder for me to try out and I have used it for a whole week straight, once in the morning and again before bedtime. I have lost count of how many teeth whitening products I have used over the years but I have never tried a charcoal tooth whitening powder before, so I have been extremely excited to give it a whirl and I’m pleased to confirm it hasn’t disappointed.

sdfghjk

zsdfgyhujik

What Laila London say:

A natural solution to promote healthy teeth and gums without any toxic ingredients normally used in toothpaste. Contains no synthetic additives, preservatives, foaming agents, fluoride, flavours or artificial colours, and no abrasive baking soda. Uniquely formulated to clean and safely polish teeth, improve gum health and freshen breath.
The main ingredient in Laila tooth powder is Coconut Shell Activated Charcoal known for tooth whitening and removing impurities.
⦁ Activated Charcoal is a highly absorbent substance. It removes toxins. Activated charcoal can be helpful in changing the pH and health of the mouth, and as such is effective in preventing cavities and killing the bad bacteria present in tooth decay and gingivitis
⦁ White Kaolin Clay is high in calcium, silica, zinc and magnesium. and it helps to whiten and polish teeth. even those with very sensitive teeth can use this 2x a day without sensitivity issues.
⦁ Calcium Powder provides extra calcium and magnesium to provide minerals and whiten.
⦁ Cloves is naturally antibacterial and gives a great taste.
⦁ Cinnamon is also antibacterial, tastes great and helps discourage bacterial growth in the mouth.
⦁ Ginger is an extremely effective solution in the fight against toothache pain.
⦁ Peppermint tastes great and is soothing to the gums and freshens breath.
⦁ Lemon powder – For fresh breath

Thoughts

The charcoal powder comes in a small amber brown glass jar with a screw top lid and the powder inside is a very light grey colour which has a pleasant and mild spicy scent with the slightest hint of natural peppermint. This powder should not be used as a substitute for toothpaste, the powder is fluoride free so you will still need to brush your teeth with toothpaste to protect from cavities. The 60ml jar is only small but there is quite a bit of powder within it and a little goes a long way so I reckon this will last a good while. It’s also 100% completely natural and it is suitable for vegans too.

hhnkm

hgjb

To use you simply pour a little of the powder into the palm of your hands and dip your wet toothbrush into the powder. After emptying a little powder into my hands to dip my toothbrush into the powder went everywhere, so I would advise using a little scoop of some sort so there is no product waste. I used a teaspoon. I wouldn’t advise dipping your toothbrush into the jar as this can cause the bacteria growth within the jar, so make sure to pour it into your hand.

ytghujikl;.png

When I began to brush my teeth and gums with the powder I was alarmed when all of my peggies turned dark grey almost black as I really wasn’t expecting that to happen. It was cool having black teeth, ha ha! At first it felt and tasted a little powdery and chalky but after the powder mixed with my saliva the chalkiness soon disappeared and the powder melted. I brushed for about two minutes each time I used it and rinsed my mouth out with water a couple of times afterwards until I was spitting clear water. It left a mild, sweet spice aftertaste in my mouth once I had finished although it didn’t taste bad at all. My toothbrush was stained afterwards but a good rinse under the hot water tap sorted it out.

After the first use I could definitely see a difference. My teeth looked super glossy and polished and although my teeth were already white before I began using the charcoal powder I could definitely see they had lightened a little bit more and  they looked a-lot cleaner and smoother. My teeth were left clean and polished and the appearance of my teeth and gums had improved  even after the first use. After a weeks use my teeth are looking amazing as are my gums and there has been no damage to my tooth enamel, I’m happy that this powder is replacing all the lost minerals from my teeth through bleaching thus making them stronger and hopefully with longer use, the powder will maintain my white smile.

Would I buy again?

I would buy it again, yes. I think it is great value for money at £8.95 and it is much safer and gentler on my teeth than whitening gels are. I got mine here. You can also pick up a jar at your local Boots.

This is the first time I have used a Laila London product but I will definitely be trying out some of their other stuff, their Rose Coconut Body Scrub sounds too lush and their Lip Butters and Honey & Coconut Herbal Face Mask are on my wish list too.
Check out the website – www.lailalondon.com.
