How To Remove Make-Up Using Just Water With The WipeOut! Amazing MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth From Magnitone London (Review)

A good few months ago, I was sent the WipeOut! MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth from Magnitone London along with the BlendUp Vibra-Sonic Brush (which I’ll review another time) and it completely slipped my mind to try it out / review it. I accumulate so many beauty and skincare products – I’m literally a hoarder and every once in a while I have to do a little clean out to discard out of date products, empties, products I won’t use and to also make a little more space in my small apartment. These clean-outs are when I find products I forgot I had and I eventually get around to trying them.

Magnitone London - WipeOut! The Amazing MicroFibre Cleansing ClothMagnitone London - WipeOut! The Amazing MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth Review

So, last week I found the WipeOut! MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth in my skincare stash and I thought I’d give it ago as I have been quite lazy with my skincare these last few weeks. I haven’t had a routine at all – instead, I have been using throw-away face wipes, which are okay to use short-term but after using them for like a month straight I started to notice my skin was looking awful because of them. I broke out in blemishes, my skin was dull and dry and basically I looked like shit. In the past I have found that when my skin is bad, keeping all products off my skin helps to balance itself out naturally so I was very intrigued to see how the Wipe Out Cloth would work for my complexion.

The WipeOut! MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth removes tough, long-wear and oil-based makeup with just warm water. It is a super soft, super fluffy face cloth making it perfect for use one sensitive skin, eyes and lips, with no cleansers, gels or products needed. The WipeOut! microfibers swell up when wet, grabbing hold of dirt, oil and makeup and trapping them away so makeup removed properly and is not smeared back onto the skin. The WipeOut! Cleansing Cloth is re-useable 1000 times, it is quick drying making it perfect for travelling and it is also machine washable at 30°C. Each Cloth is 40cm x 17cm, smearproof and double sided.  You can buy one single cloth for £7.99 or you can get two for £15 – they are available in pink and grey too.

Thoughts:

For the last month or so my skin has been really awful – completely my own fault for using face wipes everyday and being lazy by not sticking to my usual skincare routine. I’ve had blemishes appear on my face (chin area), dry patches on my nose and cheeks and my overall complexion has been dull and uneven. I thought I’d swerve the throwaway face wipes and give the WipeOut! Cloth a try to help re-balance my skin and I especially liked how it requires no products just water when cleansing, so my skin would kind of ‘repair’ itself on its own without the use of any products. I have also been using Dr. Botanicals – Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil which is a completely natural oil and my skin does look much better already.

Magnitone London - WipeOut! The Amazing MicroFibre Cleansing Cloth Reviews

I love the cloth – it is so soft and fluffy and it literally does need just water to remove even the toughest of makeup. I just rinse under the hot tap, wring it out and wipe it across my face to cleanse, remove dirt, oil and makeup and prevent spots and blackheads. The warm cloth slightly opens my pores to allow deep cleansing which helps to remove blackheads too. I’d recommend splashing your face with cold water after using to close your pores. What’s great about the WipeOut! Cloth is the microfibers hold onto particles which stop them from being spread over the face. Since using the cloth (and oil) my skin is finally starting to look human again and it is looking clearer and feeling softer. I also have a little sheen to my skin and it looks so much brighter. After using I just wash with a little bit of soap, rinse and hang it up to dry, ready to use again. The cloth is also eco-friendly as it’s reusable/washable so no more wipes in landfill which means it’s much better for our environment. I haven’t washed it in the machine yet but it can be washed at 30°c. So yeah, I’m totally happy with this product and I will defo use it again and again.

Disclosure: I was given this product for free.

Review: PurOrganica – Skin Clearing Treatment For Spots, Pimples, Blemishes & Acne

A few months ago I was sent this Skin Clearing Treatment from PurOrganica who are a natural skincare brand based in the US. PurOrganica skincare products do not contain parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, sulfates, lactin, gluten and GMO ingredients. All products are cruelty-free and are manufactured in FDA registered eco-laboratories. I have a few PurOrganica products already and the Ultimate Youth Eye Gel Treatment (which I reviewed here) is actually one of my all time favourite skincare products. I was hoping I would like the Skin Clearing Treatment as much as the eye gel but I’ve not really had the chance to use it on my skin as it is very rare that I get pimples or blemishes. This week however I have unfortunately broke out in a couple of blemishes and I have two pimples that have appeared on my face – so I have finally gotten around to trying and testing the Skin Clearing Treatment properly and I have been using it daily for about a week now.

22688467_1789934201299261_4329834534938168558_n

Skin Clearing Treatment:

”The Skin Clearing Spot Treatment is a powerful and effective drying solution for men and women with troubled skin types that are looking to attain a clean, clear and beautiful appearance. This advanced fading treatment is the best when it comes to reducing the appearance of acne, whether it be pimples, blackheads, whiteheads or even just leftover redness from an old blemish that isn’t fading quickly enough. The formula contains 2.5% Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide and 10% MSM, which work together to help minimise whiteheads and blackheads on the spot. These are three of the ingredients studies have shown to be most effective for people looking to get rid of acne quickly and easily. This drying spot corrector is specially designed to fix your blemishes easily and efficiently – with a simple dab onto the face with a cotton swab, the Skin Clearing Treatment is an easy at-home remedy to get the ‘before and after’ results you’re looking for when it comes to clearer and more even skin.” – PurOrganica

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The Skin Clearing Treatment comes in an outer cardboard box and inside is the Skin Clearing Treatment which comes in a 30 ml glass bottle. It has a black screw lid which also works as a dropper. The packaging is quite simple – nothing special really and there is information about the product printed on both the box and the bottle. The treatment itself is a cloudy white-greyish liquid and it smells really strong like alcohol. It says on the bottle that it does contain Isopropyl Alcohol as well as Cucumber Fragrance although the alcohol is the only thing I can smell.

22555001_1789934204632594_3961985538288832602_n22687839_1789934207965927_8895376552813980649_n

INGREDIENTS: Isopropyl Alcohol, Deionized Aqua, 10% Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Vegetable Glycerin, Bentonite Clay, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), 2.5% Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Cucumber Fragrance.

HOW TO USE: Do not shake the bottle before using. Dip a cotton swab into the bottom of the treatment and gently dab onto blemishes and allow to dry. You can also use the included dropper for more convenience.

THOUGHTS:

Like I said above, I have broken out in a few pimples and blemishes on my face and my complexion is looking a bit on the red side. I’ve been applying the Skin Clearing Treatment to my blemishes, pimples and red areas every night before bedtime. I have been using the included dropper instead of a cotton bud to apply it to my face and thanks to the Bentonite Clay – after a couple of minutes of applying the treatment to my skin, the clear-ish liquid turns into a chalky white colour on the skin.

I’ve been leaving the treatment on my skin overnight and each morning I have been waking up and it is still chalky white on my face. Each time I have washed it off my skin has not looked as red as before and my blemishes and pimples seem to be fading slowly. After a week of using – my blemishes are not as noticeable, my pimples aren’t as big and swollen  my complexion on a whole has started to look a little healthier. I love how my skin looks after using the Skin Clearing Treatment – I think it does work at helping to clear up blemishes and pimples, and my skin is starting to look clearer but it is not a miracle worker, the results are not instant but after every use you will see better results each time.

I do like the Skin Clearing Treatment and I would definitely recommend it for those with problem skin but I have had to discontinue using it and I sadly won’t be repurchasing. Some of you may know that I have chemical sensitivities / allergies and certain smells, chemicals, ingredients cause me to have migraines and headaches. This product is probably the worst one I have used in ages and I have had violent migraines in my temples and eye sockets for a week straight now since using. No amount of headache pills have gotten rid of them. I’m suspecting it is the alcohol which is in the ingredients formula. So, although I do like the product and it has helped clear up my blemishes and pimples – I cannot bring myself to use it again, the headaches were so severe that I was beginning to feel ill.  If you also have sensitivities and chemical allergies I would avoid this product. If you don’t ever get headaches after using certain products – lucky you! You will be absolutely fine after using the Skin Clearing Treatment and you shouldn’t experience any migraines.

If you want to read more about fragrance/chemical sensitivities click HERE.

DISCLOSUREI was gifted this product free of charge for review purposes.

Soniworks: Comedone Extractor Tools – Blackhead, Whitehead & Pimple Removing Kit

Hey Chicks,
I was kindly sent this Blackhead and Pimple Remover Kit from Soniworks (which was £12.99) to test and try out on my stubborn little blackheads and problem zits. The kit looks so much more expensive than it is. Soniworks say the kit has been recommended by dermatologists which is always good and the extractor tools are made from 100% dermatologist grade stainless steel. There are 5 tools which come inside the stainless steel case and also included are some instructions on how to use, details about each tool and what type of skin complaint they should be used for which is handy. Comedone extractor tools are excellent for acne treatment, blackhead extraction, zit removing, facial blemishes, whitehead popping and pimple popping.

71SfsNbLcGL._SL1600_

First of all let me start off by saying extractors are not just for acne. I luckily don’t have acne but I do have lots of tiny blackheads under my skin, particularly on my nose, cheeks and chin and they are so hard to get rid off. I also get a few spots now and again too especially on my chin. I’ve used comedone extractors in the past, I went through a phase of detesting every little blemish, pimple, whitehead and blackhead on my face – especially on the nose area, which has lots of tiny blackheads under the skin. In the past I never really got the hang of using the extractors and soon give up but this time round I’ve had a little browse on YouTube at video’s that explain how they should be used, so I know a little bit more about them than I previously did. If you are interested in learning how they work and how to use them just type ”comedone extraction” into YouTube to see how it’s done. I must warn you all though – if you have a weak stomach, don’t watch the video’s as some of them are really gross! Ha-ha.

Before using I recommend steaming your face for five minutes or so, use a facial steamer if you have one or if not pour boiling hot kettle water into a bowl and place your head over it so the steam hits your face, then cover your head over the bowl with a towel to stop steam escaping. Be careful not to get your face too close to the hot water. Steaming your face will open your pores so after steaming extraction of blackheads, whiteheads etc is easier. I highly recommend that you read the instruction leaflet so you know which tool to use for each problem, as there are different tools for different jobs, although you can use whatever tool you feel comfortable with.

71Qfas8ERfL._SL1600_

I advise that you don’t overuse these on your face don’t spend a lot of time on one area because your skin will feel really sore. You may notice some red blemishes after using the tools but this is nothing to worry about, the redness will fade pretty quickly. Also, in my experience they do hurt a bit when using, but only if you press down too hard, it may feel uncomfortable. Always make sure you clean the tools before each use too, medical alcohol pads, rubbing alcohol or simply a little bit of disinfectant will prevent any bacteria and skin infections from happening.

It is a brilliant little kit and handy to have, you never know when a blackhead or a pimple is going to erupt on your face! – You can expect great results with the kit, especially if you know how to use it properly. I’m finally getting the hang the tools and my skin is looking so much clearer already. I have been using it once a week and with each use my skin looks healthier and my complexion is much smoother. Yippee!

You can buy a kit here for £12.99 on Amazon UK.

Sunday Pamper Sesh: Argan Oil Mud Mask – 7th Heaven (Review)

Hi girls,

I think I have quite an addiction to face-masks you know. I have purchased so many and although most are still sitting there unopened I still get the urge to buy more. I use a few different brands but I have noticed that I always go back to 7th Heaven face masks, good job they are cheap as chips, hey! So, on my latest shopping spree I picked up a few sachets of 7th Heaven face-masks, ones which I had not yet tried and added them to my ever-growing, face-mask draw. My skin has been a bit on the oily side and I have broken out in a few pimples here and there, they actually hurt. (I’m blaming the cheap ass Halloween make-up I used last week.) Basically, my skin is oily and problematic at the moment so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out the Argan Oil Mud mask from my all-time favourite cruelty free brand 7th Heaven (aka Montagne ) to help soothe and balance out my skin as I look like I have a volcano erupting on my chin right now and it hurts like a bitch!

ag3

The mud mask is recommended for oily – combination skin and it can be used as a weekly, 10-15 minute treat for your face. The mud contains Kaolin Clay as well as Bentonite Clay and also includes Moroccon Argan Oil, antioxdant-rich Acai Berries and an anti-wrinkle favourite of mine, Rosehip Oil.

14589656_10210525046586746_8634919132988598482_o.jpg

There are lots of other skin loving ingredients in the mud too.

First Impressions

The mud is beige, peachy and pale skin coloured, quite similar in colour to the foundation I wear and it smells sweet and pleasant although I did think it smelled a little artificial. It has a smooth, creamy texture and glides over the skin effortlessly and it felt soothing on my skin once applied. In one 15g sachet there should be enough for two applications, depending how much of the mud you use. Just be sure to seal the sachet up so the mud doesn’t dry out. I fold mine over at the top and use a kirby grip to keep it sealed.

Results:

Five minutes after applying the mud, the beige coloured mud lightened to an off-white, chalky colour and I began to feel the mud drying in some areas with a tightening sensation. After around ten minutes the mud had completely dried white all over.

14939355_10210743690652711_6134754829700631005_o

I left the mask on for around 15-20 minutes and found it washed off easily with warm water and a face cloth. My skin felt super soft and clean afterwards and it looked a lot brighter and less oily. I don’t usually get oily skin but after using cheap Halloween make-up last week my skin has been problematic and greasy and I as mentioned above I broke out in a couple of spots, so this mask has been perfect for balancing my oil levels. My spots don’t feel as irritated and as sore as they did either and my complexion looks better overall. I will definitely use this mask again and I think I will buy the bigger tube next time instead of the sachet.

Where to buy?

I got mine from Sainsbury’s for 79p a sachet although they are pretty much available anywhere. Home Bargains stocks them as does ASDA, Superdrug and you can get the full size 175g tube for £5.99 on Amazon UK right here.

Review: BALM BALM – Tea Tree Multi-Purpose Lip Balm

I received BALM BALM‘s Multi Purpose Tea Tree Lip Balm in my LOVE LULA February subscription box. I’ve only just got round to trying it out so I thought I would do a quick little review for you all seeing as this cold weather and flu has cursed me with chapped lips this week!

AdobePhotoshopExpress_728e9f64ebb249339b8b42715e1cdb7c

The Multi Purpose Lip Balm is a gentle balm that can be used not only on the lips but the face and body too! The ingredients are natural, pure and 100% organic. Made from shea butter, calendula, sunflower oil, beeswax, jojoba, tea tree essential oil and nothing else. BALM BALM claims it moisturises, soothes and nourishes the skin as well as having antibacterial properties. Great for zits and pimples!

AdobePhotoshopExpress_d25e6acf843d49cca31b0b5b9fa1ff08

THOUGHTS:

I love the fact the Lip Balm is 100% organic and the ingredients are natural and pure without any nasty chemicals added as I’ve been trying to use more natural and gentle products lately – so I will definitely be checking out some other products from BALM BALM. The lip balm is a multi-purpose balm that can be used anywhere on the body not just the lips. I have been using the balm on my chapped lips and it does help to sooth my irritated, cracked skin but it’s not the best at healing them – I’ve been using the balm for about a week or two now and my lips still feel chapped although they are not as sore or irritated anymore. I love how it is not a sticky balm as well but after applying it on my lips it kind of leaks into my mouth and I can taste the strong tea tree essential oil! It doesn’t taste nice at all but the taste does eventually go away after a while although that’s probably because I’ve swallowed it, ha! So, next time I buy a lip balm from BALM BALM I will make sure I get a fragrance free one instead.

I also tried the balm on my dry skin too. I have psoriasis and the balm seems to have moisturised and calmed my irritated skin a little bit. I’ve also tried it on some blemishes and pimples and I think this balm works best for treating spots rather than healing chapped lips so I will keep this for when I get a pimple. Tea Tree works amazing for spots!  I’ve also found that a little bit of the balm goes a long way so one 10 ml tube will last for ages.

DISCLOSURE: I received this product in my Love Lula subscription box which I pay for with my own money.

WHERE TO BUY:

You can get some from Balm Balm’s website here. for £5.50. All orders placed will receive a free FREE Rose Geranium Hand Balm Sample with any order and delivery in the UK is free when you spend £10 or more!

Review: Rio Rosa Mosqueta – Pure Chilean Rosehip Seed Oil

Review: It’s my Birthday next week! Turning 29 has got me a little depressed if I’m truthful. One year away from being a 30 year old makes me so emotional! The last few years of being a twenty-something I have noticed that those dreaded wrinkles have started creeping up on my face, especially between my eyebrows. Deep frown lines is not a good look is it?  Being a needle phobe wimp, Botox is not an option for me, so I thought I was doomed until Rio Rosa kindly gifted me some of their Pure Chilean Rosehip Seed Oil from their Rio Amazon Collection. ❤

12219388_1508683989424285_2349043987836925169_n

The oil is also not only good for reducing signs of ageing, it is also great for stretch marks, uneven skin tone, sun damage and scars too. I’ve done my research and apparently Rosa Mosqueta (main ingredient) is a wild rose that grows in the valleys of the Chilean Andes. The rose is a rich source of vitamins A, C & E which encourages healthy skin regeneration and cell hydration. It is 100% natural, pure and unscented too. Sounds good!

La Rosa mosqueta _ Rosa mosqueta - hatakama - Dra_ Isabel Belaustegui ___

Results:

I’ve been using twice a day for the past week, massaging the Rosehip Oil into my frown lines for two minutes each time and I’ve gotta say they do look less noticeable. My skin looks more radiant too. My wrinkles haven’t disappeared completely, as I knew they wouldn’t but I’m going to keep using to see if they fade a little bit more, hopefully it will prevent any more wrinkles from appearing. I’m pleased with the results so far!

DISCLOSURE: This product was gifted to me free of charge for review purposes.

Where To Buy:

You can get some Rosehip Oil here.

A 20ml bottle of Rio Rosa Mosqueta – Rosehip Oil is £10.49 to buy and a 50ml bottle costs £20.49. It last’s for ages! They have lots of other natural skincare products too. It’s worth having a nose. Remember, you’ve gotta prevent them wrinkles while you’re still young girls, trust me!
